Description

  • Save bedtime- make going to bed a breeze for you and your child. This color timer is a clue for kids to stay in bed when the light is red. When the light is green, they can get up. A color timer is the key to sleep and nap training.
  • Improve focus- set the timer to the desired time. When the stoplight is on red, your child will know to focus on the task. Once the time is up, a green light signals your child to move on to the next activity.
  • Better timeouts- timeouts are a kind and effective way of disciplining your child. Our visual time out timer tells your child to stay put when the light is red. When the light turns green (green means Go), time out is over! You can also set the audible alarm to reinforce the green light.
  • Classroom timer - the beezee stoplight gold light makes a great classroom timer for teachers. Just set the timer to encourage students to focus and stay on task.
  • What's Included - the box includes an AC adapter and an optional alarm. Timer can be set for 0-15 hours and between 0-59 minutes. The yellow lens is for aesthetic purposes only.

Customer Reviews

My 3 yr old sleeps in now!I purchased this after the time change in November because it totally messed up my 3 year old's sleep schedule. After using for 3 days, he began sleeping in until the light changed from red to green. He loves his light and asks me every night to turn it on. He won't get out of bed in the morning until the light turns green. Definitely worth the money spent! 5DisappointingLove the concept, and love the look of the product. My kiddo loves the look of it too, and all the buttons and lights. Problem is, it falls short in getting the job done. The yellow light doesn t come on at all. And the green light comes on and then quickly turns off. So if your kiddo s asleep and the green light comes on and then goes off, he ll totally miss the excitement of seeing green light go! He wakes up to no light at all, which is confusing. It would be fun to see the yellow light, and know you re getting close to wake up time. But again, the yellow light doesn t come on at all. My son still likes it, and we use it for things like play time, but the function really falls short for me. Total bummer. 3it works wellThis had an immediate impact on our child staying in bed in the early morning. Not did it only work, but its fun and she likes it. The child-proof controls are easy to use but work well for preventing my child from messing with it.That said, we ultimately bought and prefer a different product as a sleep timer, because this one does not function as an alarm clock, which is way more useful for a daily sleep timer. This timer only works as a timer, and is not a clock and does not keep track of time. We still use this as a timer for other things, so its very useful in general, but its not the best as a sleep timer. This product could also be improved by making the green light stay on longer. When we used it for naps sometimes our child would wake up after the light turned off, and would yell at me about it like its somehow my fault. Kids! 3Totally recommend it!!Great product, excellent quality, use batteries or AC adapter (included), very easy to use and it has a lil trick so kids don't mess up with the timer if they push buttons. Instructions are clear, it is just a timer so you don't have to setup date and or time, just set for how many hours and/or minutes you want the red light to be on and turn the sound if you want and presto.3rd night and we're seeing a big improvement with our 4y/o, you may need some work in the first nights as we did, first night we took our son back to his room 4 times, second and third night he didn't come over at all, the results came instantly with the stoplight... still we're not crying victory yet as this is just the begining but we're glad we decided to buy the stoplight we're very confident this is gonna help us to teach our kids to be organized and to learn to manage their time. 5Don t expect kids to stay in bedI had such high hopes for this timer. Initially I thought the product was broken and was going to return it. My timer did not come with instructions for use and it s not so user friendly without the instructions. I was unaware that two buttons on the side had to be pressed down to make the timer buttons functions. I bought this timer to help keep my 3.5 year old son in bed all night and stop him from waking up and coming into our room. Due to the fact that he is still asleep and not aware of his surroundings in the middle of the night he does not pay attention to the timer and gets out of bed just a freely as before using the timer. However if he manages to still be in his bed when he wakes up in the morning he does it and stays in bed until it turns green. All and all do not expect a sleepy toddler to stay in bed from using this product. I do like the design of this timer, it is very cute as a stop light. 2Great for both toddlers and preschoolers! This has been great for getting my 20-month-old to sleep in later than 5:50am! It took a week or two and we gradually adjusted the wakeup time and now she wakes up at 7! Highly recommend for parents of toddlers. Mine understood the concept at 20 months, but other toddlers may not fully grasp it until 2 years, as recommended. The only thing I wish it would let me do is set it for a time instead of setting how many hours of sleep. In the two months since we've had it, either my husband or I has incorrectly calculated the hours twice. Overall, it's still a great product that I would get again. 4My little boys love it!Wish the price were lower, but don t mind supporting entrepreneurs. Works awesome and it s been so helpful! I have little boys...so they LOVE having their very own stoplight in their room! They pray every night that they ll obey the stoplight in the morning. :) The great thing is that this has helped eliminate the one who wakes up first calling me and waking up the other brother. They know to wait till it s green, and then they can get up quietly without disturbing the other. Highly recommend!! 5The yellow light is non functionalthis was a great find! My son has autism and since he was a baby he loved street lights and street signs of all kinds! this is helping him with understand time and patience until he can have candy or until we leave to go somewhere. It helps cut down on the constant questions that he often does which allows his anxiety to lessen and he understand and patience grow. He can t mess with it he hasn t figured out how to yet anyway once set it s set! The only thing is the uellow light doesn t work it s just for show I wish they d fugure out how to get it to also be usable. My son would probably love knowing when the green light is getting closer and yellow might help too! 5This has saved naptime and made betime a breeze! This light has saved nap time for me. I will tell you the longer story of it, but if you don't read through, the bottom line is it works! I figured I'd take a minute to write out my story in case you're suffering anything similar and need some friendly suggestions or just to know you're not alone in the struggle of toddler/preschooler naptime and bedtime. First, I'll just point out a few things.-It can run on battery, but also comes with a plug.-Only the red and green lights actually illuminate, which in the instructions it talks about why. I am really happy the yellow doesn't work because I think it would only add confusion.-The timer is set based on how long you want it to be red for, not actually a time of day you want it to turn on/off for. It must be reset every time, which only takes about 10 seconds. Sometimes this could mean you're doing a bit of math in your head. I actually just set it for 8 hours every night and 2 hours every nap time.-This could be great for timeouts, homework, TV time, ect. My 12 year old actually said she wanted one for reading. Here's our experience with it. My 3 year old has always been an excellent sleeper. Right after his 3rd birthday he started getting out of his crib. It took him longer because when he was 2 he got out once, fell on his face and got a bloody and swollen lip. Whenever he seemed tempted to climb out I reminded him of that and he decided against trying to get out. About a week after his 3rd birthday that was done and he was getting out. Within a matter of days he went from 2--3 hour naps a day and easy bedtime to no naps and a bear to put down at night. I would put him in his crib for a nap and he would climb out. I would do timeout, he would scream, then back to the crib, then climb out, then time out. It was a cycle of 2 hours of hell for me. I decided to think about options because without a nap he was acting horribly all evening and I wasn't getting anything done all day.I decided to do a few things all at once. I ordered blackout curtains and this light. We changed his crib into a toddler bed and bought him his favorite Paw Patrol bedding. We made these changes all in one day and made a big production about how big of a boy he was. We setup the light and went over how it worked. I was prepared to offer some sort of reward (most likely a sticker each time) for him following the "red in bed, green get up" rule, but amazingly I never had to. He responded incredibly well to the light.I know that my son likes having control. If I try to take control of something and he wants control, it becomes a power struggle. He's a very much "I want to do it myself" boy. I tried to give him some of the power with choosing various little things, like books and clothes, but the struggle was still there. The light took that power struggle away. I know it sounds a little nuts, but it's like he now doesn't think it's me telling him it's bedtime, it's the light turning red that makes it bedtime. He no longer argues with me. It's not me versus him anymore. Now at naptime I turn the light to red and he gets right in bed. We read 2-4 books while laying in bed together. Then I close the door and he stays in his bed! I have a camera in his room and am amazed that he'll lay in there, sometimes tossing and turning for 20-30 minutes and never gets out of bed. Then whenever he wakes up and the light is green he runs out saying "green light". He'll even take people in his room and show them the green light and actually really loves it.When I ordered this my husband rolled his eyes, thinking I was being silly. He hadn't yet been home during the day and witnessed the circus production of trying to get him to sleep. About a week after starting these changes and witnessing how effective they were, my husband admitted that it was genius. I can't promise that the light will be as effective for you as it is for me, but if you're at the end of your rope like I was, it's worth a try. Or alternatively, it might not be a bad idea to start before it gets bad and just get them in the habit of it. I'm posting a few pictures of the light and then the 4th picture is of my son waiting quietly in bed for it to turn red. I will say, I don't abuse the power of the light. I set it every night for 8 hours, which he usually sleeps 10. I set it for naps for 2 hours, he usually sleeps 2-3. I don't want him to wake up and have it on for a long time after. I feel it wouldn't be effective if he started disliking it. 95% of the time he wakes up and it's already green and he gets really excited about it. I want to keep it fun for him. Anyway, I will end the long story here. Feel free to ask if you have questions! 5I wish my kids respected me as much as this stoplightAt first you open the box and feel like this thing is really small for the price. But the small size is helpful in the end because it doesn't light up the whole room at night. My boys 4&2.5 immediately respected and followed the light. We did a few practice runs with a 1 minute timer the day we got it. At 6:30AM I peeked in to check in them both staring at it from their beds! The buttons also have a child lock feature with is much needed. 5
