Customer Reviews

This ended up being perfect for usThis ended up being perfect for us! Our community pool is pretty gross and overcrowded, and our two year old daughter is still learning how to swim. We had a little plastic kiddie pool but I wanted something that was big enough for me to get in and practice with her. It s short enough for her to stand in when fully filled, but very generously sized... I would guess you could easily fit at least 5 adults in it comfortably if you wanted. The set up, while simple, was a little tedious at first. You ll want to make sure you stretch out as many wrinkles as you while you are filling it up (but before it gets too heavy) otherwise it will end up lopsided and won t hold its shape properly which is what I think some of the negative reviewers missed in their setup. Our backyard is not 100% level so it does pitch slightly to one side, but it hasn t affected the integrity of pool so far. 5Don't do what I did. Believe the negative reviews. If you are like me, you'll read this and dismiss it because the pool looks so relaxing and easy and it has good reviews too. You'll get it and spend much longer than you intended setting it up. The ground you thought was level may not be as level as you thought. Gotta fix that. When it is all set up after several hours, you'll feel excited and self congratulatory. It's deeper than you thought and looks so inviting. Water fresh from the hose is freezing cold though, so it is a good idea to wait a day or so for the sun to warm it up. Life happens and 48 hours go buy. At this point the pool has less than half the amount of water in it than it started with. It is all droopy and folded in on itself. There is a patch kit, but no hole can be located. It is a slow enough leak that it is impossible to find, but fast enough that the pool will not remain full enough to be enjoyed. You realize this thing is going to be a huge hassle all summer long and never as warm as you want because you have to keep putting freezing cold hose water in it to keep it filled. Maybe you will leave a negative review that you are sure no one will listen to because they will see the reviews of the lucky people that didn't get faulty merchandise and convince themselves that they too will get a good one. The hassle isn't worth the risk. Now I'm left in a quandary. Do I drag it to the curb as trash or go through the trouble of boxing it back up after fully draining it and send it back in for a refund? I'm taking my refund and replacing this waste of time and money with another pool choice that hopefully functions better. 1Easy to set upEasy to set up, perfect size for my 8, 2.5, & 1 yr old. Will probably want to upgrade to a bigger size when they get older. Got the Intex Krystal Clear Cartridge Filter Pump for Above Ground Pools, 530 GPH Pump Flow Rate, 110-120V with GFCI to go with this and it's been working great. Also got the pool cover for this size and that's been helping to keep leaves/pine needles out. Our well water has so much iron in it, we had to get a water softener system (couldn't drink it or shower with it, it was horrible!). I tried so many different chemicals to try and remove it to no avail. So I decided to try to solve the problem at the source (the hose) instead of trying to solve it after the fact. Got the Camco 40013 TastePURE KDF/Carbon Water Filter, I believe it's used for RV's, hooked it up to the end of the hose and wabam! No more yellow water! No more iron! I finally have crystal clear pool water! I did have to make sure I didn't turn the hose all the way up as reviews said if the water pressure was too high the filter would crack, so it took a little over 3 hours to fill this pool. I did also add 2 oz of hth metal and stain defense after filling (just to make sure). The next day I threw in the floating chlorine dispenser and still, no yellow water! Anybody that's dealt with iron/minerals in the water knows it gets worse when you add chlorine, but that camco filter took out the iron so now I had crystal clear clean pool water! Just wanted to share my triumph because I was getting so frustrated with the yellow water problem. 5Wonderful deal on a great poolGreat Pool! This was so easy to sit up. Lay a tarp (not included) Lay pool on top and air up rim. Then toss in the hose and check it every several minutes until the wrinkles on the bottom are out and the corners are filling with water. Then wait for the pool to fill with water. This is a great size. Not for younger children under 6 unless you have floaties on them. The size is true. Getting children in and out is a problem. You have to lift the out and over the side. If anyone pushes down on the inflated area it will let the water run out of the pool. So I think lifting the children in and out is easier. We have the smaller size and paid just as much for it in a local store. I saw this online and now we have both sit up. The cheaper one was not very honest about the size. Wish we had checked amazon first. This is a great deal! 5One day one holeFinally we got a backyard pool to stave off the heat. We're 2 adults with no children and just don't have the backyard space for something much bigger than this. Before this we tried twice to buy the Intex Family Cabana but after waiting weeks for delivery those orders were both canceled by third party sellers who said they were somehow out of stock, even though they were in stock when we placed the order. So we settled for this pool. Yes, we were a bit desperate to find something before summer ends, yes we read other reviews that mentioned holes, and yes it's cheap, so what did we expect? However, Intex does continue to sell this pool and many others that also seem prone to leaking. Some people love their Intex pools. We took a chance. We set it up yesterday. Leveled the ground, put down a piece of 3/4" plywood, which according to our level was, well, level. We thought the plywood would correct any little imperfections on the ground. Once it was level, we covered the plywood with a tarp, placed the pool in the center, filled it up. What fun we had for about an hour just gently floating around, able to spend time outside despite the Florida summer heat. Yes, the pool is not exactly stable, meaning that if you put any weight on the upper ring it collapses and water spills out, but it is an inflatable pool after all. We then covered the pool with a tarp and ran out to get a pump & filter, chemicals, a net and brush, and a couple of inflatable floating chairs. None of those are in use yet as we planned to treat the water this morning. However, this morning the water was very low. We found an approximately 1/16" perfectly round hole in the bottom, which we patched with underwater glue and a patch from the kit that came with the pool. So now we're on day 2 but I have a sinking feeling that more holes are to come. If not, I'll upgrade this review. It's worth considering that Intex continues to sell products that according to many users' reports leak. Whether you pay $1 or $50 or $2000, if the company sells a product that's supposed to hold water, it should hold water. It's also worth repeating that 2 mature adults floated around in this pool for about an hour. We had nothing with us - no drinks, anything with a sharp edge, shoes, long nails, anything that could have damaged the pool. The only thing that touched the bottom from the inside was our fingers and our feet. A hole after one hour use is just inexcusable. 2Great little pool! This was awesome while it lasted. I do wish that it had come with the filter and not just a box of hoses... that was sort of a teaser. There was absolutely nothing wrong with this, and it would likely still be in use, but a squirrel, for some reason or another, decided to chew a hole in the base of it while it was filled with water. We actually sat and watched this happen, and while I'm sad about the loss of the pool... it was completely worth it to see the squirrel reap the rewards of his effort as the side of the pool finally split and he was washed several feet away in a sudden deluge of water. That was a very surprised, and very wet squirrel. If I'd gotten pictures I would have shared.Since I have douche bag squirrels living my my yard, I've decided to purchase the hard sided pools for my dog from now on, but this really was easy to set up, and I love that it comes with the ability to hook up a filter and you can buy a cover for it and everything. 5Good for one seasonThe price is right on this pool. I used it to get out of the heat of the summer. I put a portable shade cover over it, and the combination of shade and water made the 103 degree temps very comfortable. This pool is really only good for one season. The lower part that holds the water is very well made of strong material. But the inflatable ring is very thin material. That's what went out. Between the ultraviolet damage to the thin plastic and the rabbits chewing on the drain plugs and the top ring, it was not repairable. The top ring has an odd size air inlet so i blew it up with my breath. Surprisingly easy to fill it up, but it would have been nice to have a pump that fit. I had good luck with the ring staying inflated for about 3 months before I had to help it. The pool comes with patches but the top ring material is just too flimsy. You must set this pool up on flat level ground. If there is any slope, the water will pool to the low end and distort the pool. There is no structural strength to the pool, and it is dependent on the water pushing equally around the perimeter. Use a tarp underneath to prevent punctures. Also note that the plugs that go in the tubes where a filter pump would attach leak a little, so you will have water on the ground, and will have to top it up occasionally. This pool is much cheaper than running the air conditioner, and is worth the cost each year to replace.Update June 2019: I see that this pool is now $50 so it is out of the realm of a cheap throw-away for me. I'll look for something cheaper for my 3 month window of hot weather. 3Garbage. Don't waste your timeGarbage. Don't waste your time. Pool was filled on a flat, level, smooth concrete patio - with thick plastic ground liner. Used gently for two months by two adults for less than two hours on six occassions when an unlocatable leak occurred. Was very satisfied with the last 8 foot Intex easy pool as it lasted two full summers+ but it was a different design, the side material was attached at the base with a continuous round seam. This one has angles and is of an inferior design. 1Leaks! Uninteresting to cats.Love this little pool! It's the perfect size to stretch out in and float. Use the inflatable ring as a pillow and put float tubes under you legs. Amazingly relaxing! And yes, like many others have stated, the pool leaks and you know what, it doesn't matter at all--unless you're planning to place it in your carpeted bedroom (which would actually be kind of cool), or put it on the living room over your hardwood floor. I've had it a month and I notice little leaks in the form of wetness and an occasional runnel coming from the bottom corners. I'm probably leaking a half cup a day. No biggie. Perspective here--It's a $40 bag of water--and worth every penny on a summer's evening.Tips: Take your time forming your pool as you're filling it; get all the wrinkles out of the floor and push the walls out (takes about 10 minutes). Buy some test strips, add chlorine and other chems as needed (not often). Use the inexpensive Intex cover; It helps keep the pool clean and works to warm the water. Importantly, get two pools. One for the kids (think cloudy water and floating bandaids), and one for the adults. Finally, I almost didn't buy this pool because I had nightmares where my two cats repurposed the pool as a scratching post, or worse, they'd jump in and forget how to swim. Neither happened. They avoid it completely (helps to splash about a little when you first set up the tub so they associate it with water).Happy floating! 5Our community has no pool and it is HOT and the kids need a place to cool off!So excited this was exactly what I was looking for this summer. Our community has no pool and it is HOT and the kids need a place to cool off!! We couldn't be happier !! 5
