Best for 3 or 4 year olds, but a little tough for 2 year oldsThis set really allows for little ones to use their imagination and get as creative as they want to be when building! The different objects are easy to build and snap together easily. Our only hiccup was that my 2 (almost 3) year old could click shapes together, but could not easily pull them apart herself. Sometimes she'd get a little frustrated when playing with this toy on her own, but overall she's really enjoyed it and it's allowed us lots of Mom/Daughter quality play time together. I can see how this set would be absolutely perfect for a child a little bit older than 2! 4Oh, the possibilitiesThese toys are so much fun! The instructions are simple pictures that my 3 year old could follow by himself and my 5 year old doesn t need them at all. Plus, we have a previous set that makes a boat, race car, and an airplane and the two sets can work with each other to make whatever my boys can imagine (usually robots or dinosaurs).They re durable, quick, and fun and because they enhance creativity, problem solving, and a touch of engineering I feel good as a parent for offering such toys. 5Great learning tool for young childrenGreat learning tool for young children. My 3 year old grandson loved putting the different vehicles together until the blue part for the 2 wheels on the plane and also the back of the race care broke after 2 days (wasn't thrown or abused). Tried gorilla glue but didn't hold. Kind of hard to put together a plane with only one wheel. Not sure if this was a fluke or a manufacturer defect. Plan to purchase one more to find out for sure. 1Building the different vehicles is good fine motorThis is such a cute toy set that introduces building and following directions at a beginners level. Building the different vehicles is good fine motor, but the pieces and connection holes are big enough for little hands to handle and fit together. When the vehicle is put together it stays together well so that my son can then play with it. He loved it and is obsessed with the driver/pilot/captain that he calls "man." 5Excellent toyReally great product! I only wish I had found it sooner. I gave this to my son for his third birthday and he could have really used it for at least 6 months prior. It is easy enough to put together and take apart, but still holds together tightly and presents some decent physical challenges to help with perseverance. My son took right to this, putting things together first in imaginative ways and then also wants to follow the instructions, which is great. It's good quality and the pieces seem quite sturdy. We've had it about a week and it seems like it will stand up to long-term use without a problem. Very happy with this toy! 5Great for Fine Motor Practice and Pretend PlayMy three year old son has been having fun with the Learning Resources 1-2-3 Build It set. His favorite part is pretending with the little guy, but I like that he's getting some practice with his fine motor skills. He has some motor delays and sensory issues, so he needs a little encouragement and help with snapping some of the pieces together that other kids his age might not. But, the idea of making some of his favorite vehicles keeps his interest so he doesn't give up. I also like that this toy is built to last. 5I thought that was a great concept when I bought it for my 3-year-old son ...I thought that was a great concept when I bought it for my 3-year-old son who is into building things. He played a little bit ( a day maybe) and lost interest, which rarely happens when I buy him building toys. I think the problem that the car, boat, and an airplane look so unrealistic that it is not fun to play pretend games with them. 3Great idea but questionable qualityThe idea of the product is great, the details are of the perfect size for a 2-year old.. But I m a little confused about its quality .. My kid pushed the toy (when it was a plane) off the table (about 2 high) on to the carpet- and one of the details cracked.. The plane now can be assembled only without a chassis.. (I attach the photo) I doubt it can be glued back together. My question is: don t you think a toy for a kid age 2+ should steadily survive such rough playing? (I don t think it was rough at all) 3Great for younger kidsAssembly is easy enough that my 18 month old can manage to physically assemble with guidance on where to put the pieces (aside from the base of the car). At first, he was frustrated that he couldn't build all the vehicles at the same time, but he gets it now. It's been a great first building toy for him, and for the price, you can't really go wrong. 4Easy To Build Vehicles Without Toddler FrustrationWe love these 1-2-3 build it sets. They keep our 2 year old twins busy for quite a while. The boys quickly picked up how to assemble the three vehicles all by themselves just by looking at the easy-to-follow picture diagrams. I like the looks of accomplishment that follow. Once built, the toys are very sturdy and all wheels and rotors move smoothly. Learning Resources had the insight to make these pieces just the right size for little fingers to work with.To keep the peace, we also have Learning Resources 1-2-3 Build It! Rocket, Train, Helicopter, 15 Pieces. Only one vehicle per set can be built at a time, so having two different sets for two kids is the perfect solution. After one child has made all three vehicles in their set, they enjoy switching with each other it s refreshing to see such cooperation and enthusiasm over shared toys.I think this car/plane/boat set has easier to build vehicles. The other one isn t hard, but the pieces fit together more smoothly when the bodies are built before attaching to frames. We initially had to demonstrate how to do that, but the kids only had to be shown once. That said, the kids seem to like the other set more for playing purposes; perhaps because the vehicles are a bit more intricate and look more realistic. 5
