    Decent quality backgammon set for the priceAfter having not played Backgammon for many years, I wanted to get an entry level set for my girlfriend and I to play around with. This set is just the ticket.The "leather" exterior is decent looking and feeling, but not a premium product (what can you expect for the price). The inside is stitched with relative regularity and all parts are more than usable. The checkers are made of relatively inexpensive plastic, but are of a sufficient quality that you don't sit around thinking about it. 5Stitching unravelsI pet sit dogs occasionally so this was a great find for my fabric couch and was looking forward to protecting my couch. Of course, it must be washed fairly frequently for that purpose. I purchased to protect mainly against accidents - as these pets are not mine, an occasional accident occurs. I washed it and mistakenly put in the dryer. The instructions say "air dry". Be certain to comply! The white rubber-like backing began disintegrating after about the 3rd washing. White flakes everywhere in the laundry room. I hand washed it next because of this (tough on something so large) and air dried, flaked seems better, but noticed that quite a few of the threads were unraveled on the front surface. Perhaps the dogs scratching it (to make their bed - normal behavior) were too hard on it, but still hoped it would hold up a little better. 2Classic Backgammon SetGreat classic game to add fun to any gathering.The case is nice soft leather. Easy to carry.Great price for the size. 5Latch broke at the third time I used itIt doesn't look like the cheap stuff it indeed is. The quality is not an issue for most of the parts, but the latch broke at the third time we used it. I ordered a better quality pair of chest latches at Amazon for us$ 5. After spending some time and money on it I hope it can now serve for some years. I got the 15" one and the measurements they give are with the set closed. i would definitely recommend this set. i cannot find any negative issues 5The hubs loves itMy hubs was tired of playing Backgammon on his phone, so I decided to order the actual game for him. After reading several reviews I went with the 14.75" board because the reviews said it was the perfect size to fit in a suitcase/in the car/etc. I'm glad I listened. It is the perfect size, has a beautiful leather carrying case/game board, leather dice rollers and smooth playing pieces. Everything fits inside and the case latches for easy storage. Great purchase. 5Exactly What I Was Looking ForI was looking for an easy to carry backgammon set to take on our 3 week European cruise vacation. I also wanted to use it for our long plane ride back to the States. I originally had trouble deciding which set to purchase between this and the soft roll-up kind. I was also unsure of the size since I am used to playing on a big full set. As it turns out, this was perfect. Not too big, not too small. It fit in my carry-on luggage just fine and the board, dice, men, and dice shakers were all perfect for us. 5No extra piecesCase itself itself is decent. But you have to be careful not to scratch your table with the clasps. However the pieces are meh. They came scratched up and icky looking (hard to see in the pic but they dont look NEW) and they are thinner than normal (they dont fill out their slot when you put them away. Normally there is room for all of them plus the two dice for a nice secure fit that keeps the board from being noisy when you carry it and this doesnt fit. But the biggest issue I had was that it doesnt come with any extra pieces. In fact, my old set I had for 20+ years I finally retired after losing the spare plus a few extra. This one wont last anywhere near as long.I'd return it if the return window hadn't closed by the time I opened it all up and played. 2Good valueSuper cute and easily portable. Just opened the package and am impressed w the quality look. I'm an average lady w standard lady hands so the size of the board and pieces is good for me. I'll be sure to let you know how big men w big hands like it. 5Wife convinced me to get to learn the game. Love it!Keep in mind as I write this that I typically buy my board games from Walmart, but this is the nicest board game I've ever owned. My wife convinced me to get this in order to teach me how to play backgammon. I love the game now! The pieces for this guy feel awesome to move around the board or hold in your hand. They're nice and thick. The board itself has a very nice quality to it. I'm a little concerned that the stitches that hold on the triangles might allow for them to be peeled up over time, but I don't know about such things. For now, about a month after purchase with relatively frequent play, it is just as good as when I bought it. 5
