This game is fun, but I find it incredibly difficult to play ...This game is fun, but I find it incredibly difficult to play and hard understand. The instructions need to be rewritten. The game plays against the 4 players working together. I have only been lucky enough to win this game one time. It is always a challenge and never the same play twice. 4Five StarsVery Fun 5Love this game1. Love this game! 2. came swiftly and in the condition described. 3. Highly recommend!!! 5Exactly what the name says: Tiny Epic Defender game! This game provides just what I was looking for: a tiny, epic, co-op game. The game is made more difficult by the randomness of turn order, and not knowing when a player's turn will come next. This is what really makes this game strategic, because you have to plan ahead when your turn comes earlier than expected (Where do I need to succor? Where do I want to end my turn so I can defend against enemies?). This has been great fun as a 2-player game. I have not tried it with any other numbers.I love that it comes in such a small package because I can toss it in my coat pocket, my wife can put it in her purse, or I can even leave it in my glove box in my truck! 5Five StarsFantastic game with Quality components. Simple but frantic. 5Four StarsGreat for solo play and group games. I wish it supported more than four players. 4Love this gameLove this game! It is a fun and we love that it is a cooperative game, easy to travel with, quick to set up, and not too hard to learn (with assistance from youtube on the nuances). We loved this game so much we backed Gamelyn's new kickstarted and ordered Tiny Epic Galaxies. Can't wait to get try them on for size. 5Five StarsGreat fun game. Easy to play and quick to setup. 5DissapointingI'll start off by saying that the materials and art were very nice, and why I gave a two-star rating instead of a one-star rating. I'll also say that I've enjoyed Tiny Epic Kingdoms, and was motivated to buy this game because of it.Ultimately, I gave this a low rating because it feels like a game where all you do is run around trying to put out fires for a place that is ultimately doomed. There's no way to eliminate the enemies that cause the fires, and with each new round more are added. You get too few actions to accomplish much, and if you were to win, it would only be by the skin of your teeth. This doesn't make the game horrible, or poorly designed, in and of itself. It just makes it the kind of game that leaves me more frustrated and annoyed than anything else. Given the other games from this series, I think much more could've been done to make this game more enjoyable. 2A Big, Challenging Game in a Small Box!Tiny Epic Defenders, from Gamelyn Games, is a cooperative game set in the "Tiny Epic" line. Where its predecessor, Tiny Epic Kingdoms, was a competitive game where players worked against each other, in Tiny Epic Defenders players work together to defeat a nasty epic foe that threatens the peace of the land. Seven location cards are placed on the board, with the capital city in the center. Each location has a special ability and a threat track. Players build various decks, including the turn deck, the horde deck, and the destruction deck.During a round, players will draw a card from the turn deck which may be an enemy, which will attack two of the locations (moving the threat track up), or a player's color- indicating that it is that player's turn. A player may spend three action points to take actions- move from one location to another use a location's special ability, use a player's special ability (located on the player's character board), defend a location (taking health point hits to keep the location's threat track from advancing), succor (taking health point hits to lower the location's threat track), or use an artifact that has its own special powers. The problem is, there are never enough players to do everything, so some locations will take hits no matter what you do. If ever a location is destroyed, you take a facedown card from the destruction deck and place it over the location- its powers are no useless but it can still be attacked. Since it is already destroyed, however, the threat track of the capital city will move up. If every the capital city's threat track reaches the end, the players lose the game.Once the turn deck is exhausted, players place a new card from the horde deck into a new turn deck, which will make things harder in the next turn. Play then repeats. Also there are dire foes which may come out, which hang out at a location and cause problems. Once you get through the horde deck, the epic foe appears and he must be defeated in order for the players to win the game.Tiny Epic Defenders is a fun, fast (around 30 minutes) and clever game that manages to pack a big punch in a small box. The strategy in this game is fantastic, as players must carefully consider how best to spend their resources and action points to win. It's an exciting adventure every time you play. Also, like Tiny Epic Kingdoms, Tiny Epic Defenders has loads of different characters/factions to choose from, each offer unique powers and game play. Players will have a field day figuring out the best combinations of characters and powers. Also, the artifact cards also some clever abilities and further expand the games replayability. If you're looking for a great cooperative game that is not too long, not too pricey, and not to complicated, yet still manages to present a serious strategic challenge, check out Tiny Epic Defenders 5
