Customer Reviews

Great board for an affordable priceWhen I received the board it was in 1 piece without any damage. It's looking solid and massive, great quality. It comes with poor quality dart flights they need to be replaced with your own. By the way the dart tips are soft and they are made of good material. I kept them and haven't broke any of them after a month of play.Pro:- all well known game variations are included (301, 501, Cricket, etc...)- if you play 301, 501... it has a nice checkout suggestion when playing with double out option (from 170 points)- Standard XO display for Cricket scoring- Can play against computer (and it can be beaten :) )- Few bounce outsCon:- Computer is very slow, you will need lots of beer when you play against it- Heckler "feature" is annoying but can be turned off- Volume controller worst nothing. If you set it to the lowest volume it is still very noisy- Irritating starting music can't be turned off permanently and it is very loud toocomment: the board was made in China then it was sold in the US then I bought it from Europe. So actually the board almost get around the World to reach its final destination. The board is not available in Europe market which is really unbelievable from a world wide known manufacturer (Arachnid). Why don't they have any re-sellers in Europe shipping would be much more cheaper. 4The perfect gift for the avid playerI bought this as a Birthday present for my sister who is a tournament player. It meets all of the secs of tournament play and it has the extra bonus of the hilarious heckel feature.... if you are doing not so good it tells you that you suck and mabe you should take up bowling...etc.I also want to say that there was a problem with the first one, it didn't keep score correctly and I thought I was just going to be screwed. I never had to return anything through Amazon before. I contacted returns and it was a very simple exchange process and they walked me through every step. It was very easy and no questions asked five stars to Amazon too. 5Great for the casual chuckerThis electronic board has a great visible face and seems to have few bounce outs. The display is easy to understand and is bright enough even for a well lit room. Overall I am very happy with only two minor issues. The mounting system is a top and bottom screw in the back that the board slides onto. The issue is that this does not seem to give the rock solid anchoring that I want. I prefer a system where there are 4 through the face screws. With 18gram darts the issue is how tightly they get stuck. It can be difficult to pull them out and with the rear anchoring system I find myself rocking the board a bit. 5On 2nd SetArrived from Amazon, plugged it in, and immediately smelled some burning smell. Was able to select game but within a minute, electronics stopped working so must have shorted out. Amazon was great with the exchange, UPS picked up defective the next day and received new Arachnid one day later. Have only played for a couple hours but new set is working fine. Not a big fan of heckler but can easily turn off. Volume is very loud but adjustable (or can turn off). Scoring is bright and easy to read. Although I didn't see other reviews with this issue - I have run into some non-counts when I changed to next player (and darts stuck). It would be great if selecting games were a bit more intuitive than G1, G3, G5... but there are a few default games with their own buttons (basic cricket, 301). To play other than the few defaults, you need to refer to your manual when toggling through options. For price - seems like a good board but if more serious, may want to go for their more expensive model 3So far so good.So I got the product in today. I did have a little bit of a problem at first with 1 or 2 zones not scoring, but I heard a rattle inside the board and opened it up around the top to find a small ball of solder rattling around in the board. It is likely that could have caused a contact issue between the plastic and scorer. Put back together and everything was good. Since then everything has worked fine I've played a couple of games and didn't have any issues. As far as packaging from BMI I would say it was extremely sub-par. They didn't include anything to brace the box within the amazon box. The package was open and the inner box for the arachnid board was also damaged. Power supply had come out of the box, and the package with the darts were laying out. Luckily it all made it to me. This is more a fault with the distributor not the game manufacturer. I was surprised the game wasn't severely damaged given the poor packaging. As far as the board is concerned it is all plastic, but so far has been fun playing it. The darts I would say are good for a free set to come with the board. The mounting screws keep the board tight on the wall if you install correctly. I think that the only downfall is that the board does have to be mounted into a stud so you cant get exact placement in the room. Not a big deal though and I imagine that's the case with all boards. This board is a good size and I really like the sleek look of it. Also like most people the Heckler feature is kind of annoying and if you have it turned on it doesn't call out the numbers you hit. I just turn it off before every game and it works perfectly. I give the board 4 stars, but I would give the distributor 1 star for the very poor packaging.Would definitely buy again if this one were to break as long as it holds up over the next couple of years. 4Decent Board, Lots of FeaturesThis is a decent electronic dartboard. Lots of games are included and the instructions provide full rules for each of them. The LED display is very bright and the Cricket scoreboard uses slashes and circles instead of simply lighting up LEDs.For most games, you can play as either One Player or "Solo". In Solo mode, you are actually playing against the board AI, and you can adjust the difficulty. This makes solo games of Cricket more interesting. At first I thought the Solo mode would be silly, I mean really the board is just showing numbers when it's the AI's turn, and you have to pretend it's throwing darts. Turns out I was pleasantly surprised. It plays intelligently and won't magically hit triple 20's every throw. In Cricket, the AI knows when you're racking up the score and will work hard to close out numbers. It will also realistically "miss" - for instance, if it knows that it needs a double 18 to close, when it "misses" it will hit a Double 4 or a Single 1, which is what a real player would most likely do. You can also add AI to game you're playing with your friends, ie 3 real people vs 2 AI.The board contains all the mounting hardware. Its built pretty solid and I haven't had any trouble with darts not registering. The mounting instructions give you measurements as to where the mounting holes on the back of the board are. It seems like a little thing but saves you the step of trying to line up exact bullseye positions with holes on the back and with whatever hole you screwed into the wall.It will run on AA batteries and comes with an AC adapter as well. The battery option lets you set it up anywhere. Oddly, when the board is mounted to the proper height, the AC adapter's cord isn't long enough to reach a typical floor mounted outlet unless the outlet is exactly underneath the. Just a minor complaint, as you're probably going to need some extension cord to plug it in.Unlike other reviewers, I was reasonably impressed with the darts that came with the board. They're not the ultra cheap, pure plastic "bar darts". These ones have brass fittings and weigh 10 grams, and two sets are included. While they are no substitute for a set of decent soft tip darts, the included ones aren't that all bad and worked out great for the kids. The board comes with a pack of 25 extra tips. The shafts and flights are a bit chintzy though, and the flights didn't attach to the shafts without some screwing around. The board has a few flaws, none of them deal breaking. The board is in my opinion VERY loud. When you turn it on, it does this ear blasting "fanfare" sound that you can't turn off. The Heckler feature only works on certain games, and it's pretty lame. You usually turn it off forever after hearing it for a game or two.You can change the volume of the game to "off", "normal", or "loud" - I wish that the "normal" volume was quieter. I'll probably end up putting duct tape or something over the speaker in an attempt to muffle it a bit more. There is a huge variety in game modes for each of the included games. They are all based on changing codes before you start the main game and without the book, it can be tricky to figure out how to play Variation 8 of "Cut Throat" Cricket.Another complaint is that the board doesn't auto switch to the next player after it registers three darts. You always have to hit the Next Player button. On the positive side, at least you won't accidentally give the Next Player a free score when you pull the darts. Finally, depending on the game, when a game is finished, the LED scoreboard only displays the winner, but not the final score. When playing a simple High Score game with my kid, it would have been nice to see what the final score was for both players, along with "Player 1 wins".All in all, I am very pleased with the purchase. I've only had it for a week so I'm not sure about how durable it is in the long run, but the build quality is good and it's a decent board with plenty of features. 4Breaks EasilyI do like the dart board and its features. The problem is that after about a months worth of use the panels on the board are breaking. One I can understand but when 5 have broken in less then 2 months that is not what I would call a quality product. I have contacted the company 3 times about part numbers to replace the panels but I have gotten no reply. I am disappointed in the service that I have received from the company.March 8, 2012I again contacted the company with no luck on getting my issue resolved. Their are problems with player being skipped or some of the electronics not working properly. All of the red segments encased in the inner circle are borken and some of the triple and double segments are broke. It is a nice board but it it not long lasting. I do not recommend this board. DMI Sports attempted to help but then dismissed me as a customer and is no longer in contact. 1Arachnid Interactive 6000 Dart Board ReviewI've had the Arachnid Interactive 6000 dart board for more than a year now (even paid more for it back then) and it still functions flawlessly. The dart board (along with pool table, card table, bingo set, etc) is very popular with friends or co-workers (and their spouses) who stop by my woodworking shop (play room, man cave, or whatever you want to call it) at home.Of course, soft plastic doesn't last forever, so be prepared to keep plenty of extra tips and tails for the darts on hand. You can buy either by the dozens (tails) or hundreds (tips) for just a few dollars on popular auction sites. I keep at least 50 tails and 250 tips in a bowl near the board. This allows players to freely change either whenever needed. Naturally, throwing properly significantly reduces broken tips.By the way, if a tip breaks off inside a hole in the board, use another tip to push the broken tip all the way through into the unit housing. Since a broken tip often presses against the electric pads inside, it can cause erratic behavior in the electronics (missing led segments, scoring problems, etc). Pushing that broken tip through will not harm anything and has always returned the board to full working order for me.I also purchased higher quality, all metal, darts (a preference, not a necessity). If you decide to do likewise, make sure to keep the weight of those darts down to avoid damaging the board. An electronic board obviously can't take the same punishment as a simple fiber, cardboard, or cork board.Anyway, hate the heckler feature (silly & boring - and has to be turned off each time), but love the board size, game selection, solo play (practice), play prompts, and automatic scoring (latter two really helps those less familiar with darts, allowing me to focus attention elsewhere - other guests, etc). My board is now (after countless games) starting to look a bit well worn, so I may purchase another soon. 5Nice regulation boardUPDATE: 1 year of solid abuse and still works great!I see this board has gotten a lot of negative reviews on Amazon, but if you check out some sites that specialize in darts, the response was overwhelmingly positive. I started in a dart league and needed to practice on a nice board since I hadn't really played in years. This board is great! It seems to be durable as I use heavy darts and throw a little harder than most. Almost no bounce outs! It plays and feels like a bar dart board. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because of a few (minor) annoyances:*The volume, even on low, is much louder than I would like.*You have to shut off the goofy "heckler" option every time you start up the board or change to a different game.*Some people like myself like to throw in in rhythm...a second or so between darts. The computer takes too long in audibly telling you what you hit, so the next number will be cut off (no voice). Not a big deal.*In Cricket, every time you don't hit a mark, it will call out what you hit and say "Miiissss." Find it distracting when eyeing up the next target.*Also for Cricket, selecting the Single Bulls eye option (so they're worth 50 points, like league), just lazily marks every bull as a Double Bulls eye (marking 2 for one). Normally you need 3 to close, not 2 + scoring you 25. So we just keep it regular Bulls Eye for Cricket and Single for 301.^Most of these can be avoided by turning off the sound, so it's not a very big deal.Overall I'm very pleased with this product so far. We've already gotten A LOT of use out of it. 4Perfect board for the novice playerOrdered this board to pass some time while deployed. Board arrived in perfect working condition with all hardware for instillation. As everyone ells stated the darts are basic level to get you playing right out of the box, however, you are not buying the darts you are buying the board. We currently have this board set up outside while deployed and it has not let us down, we do bring it inside when not in use to keep from prolonged exposed to dust, wind, and sun. We have only experienced about 2 true bounce outs. I would recommend this board to anyone looking for a great addition to the man cave or game room. The only one thing I wish is that you can record your own voice in the Heckler Mode.Pro:-All the high profile games and more-Regulation size board-Easy mounting. We take it down everyday and goes back up with ease-Darts hold true and do not bounce out-Battery and AC power operatedHere are the cons that I can think off:-With the board being utilized outside the display lights are hard to read from the throw line-Current dart green light is impossible to read while at the throw line-Only display 2 players scores at one time, this is more of a personal preference and just an inconvenience when playing 2 or more players. You can scroll thru the player screen to see everyone's score, so like I said this is a matter of preference. 4
