Customer Reviews

A very good build but its a brick.Ah the MSN-04 Sazabi.. Perhaps my favorite MS of my favorite Gundam Character. Since there isn't a Version Katoki release yet I got this fully aware it is a brick mostly. My thoughts on the proportions is that this model captured the anime design mostly except the thigh armor could use a little touching up and smaller. The colors I like but could be better as it is a 2 tone red.Build is very very straight forward and easy.Articulation is very limited in the legs due to how this kit was designed in the frame and its thigh armor. No Stand for the funnels or action pieces but that is expected due to the age of this kit. It is over 10 years old.Overall, I would recommend this to people who love the suit and the character who pilots it. Though for people looking for insane articulation i wouldn't because of the legs, proportions, and the bright red that is one of the tones of red. 4older model, still funI recently finished this model, is the oldest MG I have put together (I believe it was released on 2000), and it shows. The completed model is huge, bigger even than the EX-S gundam, so if you want a smaller and newer model I highly recommend the 1/144 HGUCThe inner frame is on the simpler side, without much detail. This is specially bad on the funnel racks, without any detail on the inner surface. There is some more detail on the lower legs, cockpit and backpack, but nothing too brilliant. The articulation is a mixed bag, with policaps for joints. There are ball joints in the shoulders and hips, but the mobility is limited, specially on the hips, you can't get more than 20 degrees of abduction. Extension and flexion is limited because of the front and back skirts. But the knees are the biggest offenders, with less than 45 degrees of flexion. The neck is on a double joint , with a wide degree of motion. The elbows are also double jointed. The armor plates also are on the lacking side of details, without much panel lines. Still, this leaves a good margin for you to get creative with your paint job. There are a few gimmicks, such as the cockpit, the articulated monoeye, pistons on elbows and ankles and the funnels, which are fully articulated. The proportions are a little odd, but still accurate to the lineart. This also means that we get a smallish decal sheet and dry transfers. On the good side, we have a sturdy model and a fantastic design, although a little stiff.Well, that's it. With a new RX-93 ver Ka on the horizon, there is not to unreasonable to think there will be a sazabi ver 2.0, so I would recommend you yo wait for it. 4MG Sazabi's are fancy smancy kits but they are a pain in the ass to build! These kits both the mg sazabi and the other sazabi i had a super pro put those you know what things together! They are very hard to put together and the damn things have to be set just right or else! and it took two experts to put these two mg sazabi kits together and they cursed and they held out for more money and complained about the responsibilities they accepted! don't believe all those youtube how to's because these things are expensive and they are a bitch! I got crazy buying a whole army of giant robot kits and I really got out of control and donated stuff to charity... If i had to do it all over I would have been happy just bying the little hguc sazabi's as collectibles it takes up less room and they are less a pain in the ass! 5Simply Excelent!!!!i've got this mobile suit a couple of weeks ago, and i was a little scared because it's in japanese and all, but the instructions are very easy to follow and straightforward. The only thing about it it's that if you want to be 100% original like in the movie, you've got to paint it(sold separately), and put the seals that come in the package, that to this day i don't know how to use them. but still it's great fun building it, i doesn't take a lot of time, and sometimes you have to use ingenuity, because the instructions tells you one thing in the real world it's the other way around, so it's challenging as well, have fun whit the greatest mobile suit ever, THE SAZABI, i know i did. 5UC LegendIf you don't have the cash for the MG then this is the next best thing. Char's Sazabi is a heavy hitting legend from the UC timeline and the HGUC kit does it justice. Very good quality molding and technically does not require painting. I recommended painting if you are going to use spray cans or an airbrush. Although the instruction manual is all in Japanese they are so easy to follow you don't need the text. I have built a lot of Bandai kits and I have never encountered any errors in their instructions. If you can follow instructions your going to be just fine. Take your time... no rush :) Since the kit is a High Grade you don't get any internal frame and the build is relativly quick but you still get a lot of visual detail on the exterior of the kit. Might want to invest in an Action Stand. Helps when you want those mean flying posses. 5Five Starslove it 5Some good, some badFirst off, I love Char and the Sazabi is an iconic suit. I had been wanting this for a while, especially since I wanted to try a red paint technique. But like the other reviewers say, there are some drawbacks to this kit even if you love Char and Char's Counterattack.Cons:- This model is a brick. This means that it is difficult to make it pose in a variety of moves. Not much articulation. I think I am going to end up trying to find a stand for it so I can at least make it look like it's flying or something.- The red plastic it was molded in comes in various shades of red. The shades weren't a completely different color of red, but some were slightly darker than others, and some were brighter. If I wasn't planning on painting this kit, that would have annoyed me. Also, I thought I saw some weird swirls in some of the red plastic.Pros:- I love Char and this suit. It comes with some cool beam attachments for the weapons and duel beam sabers that slide into the wrist (just like in the movie!)- This thing is HUGE!! It towers over my MG Blue Frame Astray and must be close to a foot tall. I remember taking the shield out of the plastic and thinking, "Holy Crap this thing is massive!"- It was not a difficult build. The thing that took up most my time was doing the painting. Once it's assembled it looks great. I just wish it was more posable.Overall:I have a thing for Char and this suit. I'm glad I built it and it looks pretty intimidating next to my MG Nu Gundam. I just wish it wasn't quite so expensive for an older kit and that it was more flexible. Glad I went for it! 4
