It's wood & sturdy, but I would suggest finding I nice rug ...If I could give this item more than five stars, I wouldn't think twice about it. Coming from musically talented family's, we decided that we would try to peak our daughters interest in music as young as we could & a piano was the first thing that came to our minds. I was astonished at the inexpensive price that this item cost, after receiving it & seeing the quality. It's absolutely gorgeous. It's wood & sturdy, but I would suggest finding I nice rug to keep under the legs because it will slide a little on hard wood flooring. If you are looking for something that has a nice piano sound, I suggest you look some where else because this is definitely just a play piano. But the sound doesn't bother me, it almost sounds like a xylophone.My daughter is ten months, so she is to little to use the stool, but it's the perfect height for her to stand & mash them keys to her hearts desire. We gave it to her two months before her birthday, if that says anything about how wonderful it is! We also had a minor issue that we had to contact customer service with & they were excellent! Quick & prompt shipping at the time we purchased. We are truly in love with this item! 5Nice toyI give it a four only because there was some type of hand print in the bottom of the piano, other than that if your looking for something for your kids to bang around on and use creatively than this is great. Personally, if I had to tune my child s piano I d return it. He loves it! We play and sing on it once a day. No matter what keys he smashes, he will sing ABCs to it. The only reason why i didn't give it 5 stars is because of the construction of the hardware. The keys are very flimsy and have too much wiggle room that other keys can get stuck. The pitch is obviously a bit off, but it has the appropriate progression of sound with each key. My 2 year old daughter just loves it! And has learned to play quite beautifully with it. Liked it so much I even bought my 3 year old nephew one for Christmas. 5Got What I ExpectedIf you are expecting this to sound like a real piano, just stop right there and do not buy. If you understand this is a large toy and can handle the cheap "dingy" sounds and loose keys of a toy, then go right ahead. I got this for my Grand-Daughter and she enjoys it. It's not so cheap that it's falling apart, but it's definitely not high quality wood that your kids can jump on. Expect things to get loose over time. Even with care I don't expect this to last an entire childhood. 5The keys that did play sounded nice and the piano is beautiful but the product quality ...Very cute BUT the first piano I received was defective multiple keys did not work. When i contacted the company they sent out a second piano. It was also defective and had keys that didn't work and one that had a hole in it. The keys that did play sounded nice and the piano is beautiful but the product quality was not good. The shipping was fast and I got a full refund for the defective pianos. 2Poor Craftsmanship - Broken When ReceivedI hate to give a bad review, because I'm generally very pleased with most everything I purchase through Amazon. We ordered this piano for our daughter for Christmas. It looked like it was going to be great! However, when we received it, one of the legs wasn't able to be attached to the top because it was damaged. We thought - "No biggie. These things happen. We'll just return it, get a replacement, and all will be well." The replacement arrived quickly. We were excited to get it assembled. We opened the box and the whole top piece was unattached and broken. We were very disapponted that it didn't work out, but after 2 shipments of broken items, we questioned the durability of this item. We didn't have faith that another replacement would hold up to our toddler if it did come in working order. We ended up going with another similar piano on Amazon that was much sturdier and arrived in tact. 2
