    Waste of moneyBought each of my kids one for Christmas. They are terrible. First, the opening to get into it is tiny. Its impossible to get things out, or in my case fix the claw when it wouldn't open. It is also impossible to find things it can pick up. And when you do find something it can pick up, in our case tiny squishy toys, you have to very carefully space them on the bottom so the claw can get around them. Which, due to the tiny opening size is extremely annoying, we used salad tongs. But really, why wants to meticulously arrange things for a claw to pick up. Since we have more than one I can safely say we didn't just get a dud, they just suck in general 1the device is poorly designed as we found out this ...the device is poorly designed as we found out this first purchased this model burned out within hours of opening. Seller replace bought a different brand that looks the same and no problems. 1It's ok, kid loved it, hard to load candy into machine thoughMy daughter loves it, however it is hard to load candy into. You either have to cram it through the top, which has the mechanism for the claw in the way so it leaves you with only an inch to put candy in, or you have to shove it into the candy dispense space at the bottom, then turn the machine upside down to get the candy into it. Quality is ok, my cat leaned on the plastic front and cracked it, but that's my fault for leaving it on the floor. 3deaditems that are more likely going to be kids' presents MUST have a better quality control. imagine everyone's disappointment when the present does not work after all necessary prep work is done, ok may let us try another set of batteries though the first set of batteries expires in 7 years, ok let us try coin tokens - this could be the key. Nope, nothing. on and off button does not activate the machine. a lesson for me, test and try all toys BEFORE giving them. 1Great Kids ToyMy daughter saw this in the local drug store and wanted it soooooo bad. We ended up ordering it as a Christmas present and she plays with it all the time. We didn't want candy in there since it would be in her room so ordered some small party favors. The only thing that gets annoying is the song that plays whenever your on the machine. If it becomes too much to bear open it up and cut the speaker wires. ;) 5Perfect size to sit on a book shelfAfter reading reviews on many of these types of machines I ended up with this one. My first choice was sold out so runner up won.First the pros-It is rather entertaining for kids and adults.Perfect size to sit on a book shelf.Bright colors.It looks nice.Really works to an extent....see consCons-When I received the machine it worked but rattled like there was something stuck in it. So we unscrewed the bottom and found a peice if plastic rolling around inside. It apparently wasn't important because machine still works.Takes D cell batteries....nothing runs on D batteries anymore....except this thing.Music it plays is VERY loud and there's no control options. I considered cutting the speaker cord to make it silent, but with out the music you don't know when your turn is almost up. The music speeds up the last 10 seconds or so.The claw was wrapped on plastic abd tied in place to protect it in shipping. Problem is the opening in the top is very small and you can't take the top off so it was difficult getting it undone for play.Claw is rather weak. So you have to be sure prizes are fairly light.It has 3 joysticks that control it. They are all plastic and my daughter has popped them off several times. Luckily she hasn't clean snapped them off.. yet...The coin slot doesn't really work. Coins pass by the trigger making it work, but the coin doesn't go all the way down until another coin pushes it put if the way OR as my son quickly learned when a butter knife of screwdriver pushes it.That brings me to the next con.... you can easily activate it by just pressing the button in the coin slot with a flat object. Sucks when your kids learn they don't really need coins and just cheat. On the bright side they can't be sneaky about doing it bevause whenever activated the loud circus music rats them out.Overall for the price I am satisfied, but the quality is not fantastic. 3Fun Fun Fun!!This was a Christmas present so we put batteries in it and filled it with candy...my husband thought he should try it out...it took him about 45 minutes to get a candy!!! We gave it to my granddaughter with a bit of trepidation (no worries though) she had no problems!! First try!! I will say when the whole family gets in the action it gets real noisy.....No on or off switch for the music so you are only getting 4 stars! 4Fun and decent qualityI got this for my almost 6 year old grandson for Christmas. He barely got a chance to play with it when he opened it because everyone else wanted to play with it. It seemed to be good quality. 3 children (ages 6 and 9)have been playing with it since Christmas and up until 4 days ago it was holding up well then it was destroyed in a house fire. Everyone loves it and it will definitely get replaced. 5Don't work!!!Utterly useless!!! Bought them for grandchildren for Christmas so only checked to see that they were intact. Put them together today and put things inside to make sure they worked but sadly NO!!! They pick up essentially nothing!!! Filled them as per instructions. Crane gets caught up often!!! Most entertaining feature is music. Now too late to return them!!! Only selected 1 star for rating so review would be accepted, otherwise would say zero!!! 1Trickier compared to game place toy machines, but still fun. It just takes some learned skill.My 7 yr old daughter is a pro at game place claw machines, so she really wanted one of these for Christmas. After reading through several different item reviews, I decided on this one. We used left over halloween candy and other miniature chocolate candies in our pantry. Also, we threw in a bunch of small toys my daughter got from goody bags/dollar store etc over the years. As others said DO NOT use suckers or other bunkier items that will get stuck in the toy shoot. Playing this toy: My daughter is very impatient and became very frustrated over how tricky the items are to pick up....so different from game place toy machines. This one has a left and right, backwards and forewards, and up and down levers. My husband and I tried it too, and were unable to pick anything up. But, I'm sure this will soon become a favorite for her after some figuring out. It's just a little trickier to challenge her skill :) The sound is loud, but we can tolerate it. Make sure to have D batteries on hand too, it takes 3. We didn't have any on Chrtismas so we had to wait a few days till we bought some.UPDATE: My daughter quickly mastered this machine. (Which made me changes this review from three to four stars. I have tried several times and have no clue how she does it so easily. She still plays with it frequently. It never gets old for her! A favorite of hers is using plastic Easter eggs in it. We have come to discover you can't put many items in it at a time, But my daughter doesn't care. She enjoys playing "carnival" with all her stuffed animals and action hero dolls with it. I'd say it's a must buy for kids! 4
