Dice. They're dice. They're dice, they're purple, they're translucent, and they're made by Chessex. When rolled, it will come to a stop with one face upwards, giving you a statistically random value each time the dice are rolled. Thus, they are well-suited for random number generation scenarios in games, and are particularly well suited for RPGs. These analogue units do not require a power supply, so you'll be ready to keep on gaming even when your friend's smartphone battery dies and he can no longer use his dice app. Bring a few sets to share, and be the hero of your gaming group during extended power outages!Typical chessex quality, lustrous finish and vibrant translucence. Pretty dice. If you buy them, people will want to be your friend. 5Bad BatchI just started playing Pathfinder and having bad luck with other player's dice i decided to invest in my own set. I understand it was a cheaper set for 6 bucks which is why i rated it what it is. Most dice are around 10 bucks so i ordered a cheap set and what i received was a cheap set. All the dice excluding the percentile were at least chipped or dented. There is a hole in the d6 with chips on the d10, d8, and d12. There is also a scratch on the d4. the most aggravating note is the d20 has a bludge or dent on the 4. Because of that it uneven and when a 17,16 is about to land it has a tendency to just roll off to a 15 or 14. (mainly upset beause it goes from crit range to outside) Honestly I can't complain. I needed a basic cheap set and i ordered one, they got the job done but i wish i could hit my crits. If you enjoy nice die and play al ot i would recommend taking the dice in the 10-20 buck range or a gaming store so you can see what you buy at least. If your new to DnD or Pathfinder it is a nice starter set to buy and hopefully pass on to a friend who needs a new set once you find a better one. 3Might as well be a marbleUsually Chessex Dice are great for the money, but this set I got today has no edge whatsoever and just keeps on rolling. Very dissatisfied with this purchase. 1Nice DiceI'm an old time pen and paper RP gamer. I prefer the tactile joy of dice over a game controller. So, I purchased the Translucent Polyhedral dice set. It contains 7 dice (d4, d6, d8, (2) percentile dice, a d12, and a d20). They come in a rainbow of colors so that each player can choose a set that is close to their favorite color. The dice are smooth to the touch with rounded edges. The colors of the dice are vibrant and the numbers tend to "pop"; there are no excess paint drops, and I've found no mould marks on these dice or any air bubbles in them.I find that they tend to "over roll" on cloth surfaces, or bounce/skid on really hard surfaces. I roll mine on a thick paperback which seems to work just fine.I have sets of dice that are 20 years old and still going strong. The price is really good and I have no problem recommending these dice to other gamers. 5You play DnD?You read the title? Then you should already be rolling with Chessex. Buy it, you dirty little Dice Goblin! 5Great colorIt came in very well, no scratch, nothing broken ... until I opened the lid.It was ENTIRELY my fault, however. When proceeding to open it the lid was stiff and it cracked the plastic container. But, that doesn't bother me because the lid can securely go back on it without it slipping off or whatever. So, very entertained by these dice, love the color. Cant wait to play DnD with my brother at Christmas time. 5good dice!We picked these up for the pathfinder card game since it only comes with 1 set of dice and sometimes you need mulitples and we only have D6 from our other borad games. This set comes, as pictures, and are nice quality - no flaking paint or chipped edges or anything you might see in a 'bulk pack' of dice. You can find these at many game/hobby stores (b/c Chessex dice are nice!), but the prices are comparable and selection aren't as wide as on amazon that we have found.my wife is particular about the colors she likes so we got our dice here! 5Poorly printed numbers!I've always been happy with the Chessex dice sets I've bought over the years, so I thought a pretty translucent purple set might be the best thing ever. Now, I can't believe I'm actually returning a dice set. They look beaten up compared to other sets even though they're new but by far the worst problem is the shoddy printing of the numbers, especially on the d20. 2Good Color, Functional, Not Premium - Get What You Pay ForMy wife is new to tabletop and wanted her own set of dice. She chose these because they were so very cheap, had a good color and restrained aesthetic. She's pleased with the dice that have arrived. But after a cursory inspection and a few throws, I wouldn't be.Pros:1. CHEAP - At the time of our purchase, possibly the cheapest full set with any meaningful color choices.2. COLORFUL - Very pretty purple translucent color, and even better in good lighting. No unsightly bubbles in the plastic.3. CLEAR STOPS - On hard and soft surfaces, it is easy to see the indicated result. Don't roll these on shag carpet, obviously.Cons:1. SURFACE DEFECTS - Every single die in the set has at least one face with a cosmetic defect, like a scratch or a hairline surface crack, which shows white against the otherwise pretty purple plastic. The d8 in particular is quite obviously marred on EVERY face. My wife insists that she doesn't care and that it won't be visible across the table. Some people will care that they can see these defects at arm's length, especially if they purchased these for visual appeal. You decide.2. UNEVEN NUMBER PAINT - Although numbers are visible in every case, they are not crisp due to poor-quality filling. This is true on every die.3. LIGHT AND BOUNCY - These dice are a bit light for my taste, and due to their plastic composition, they bounce and roll quite a lot before settling. My wife rolls less vigorously than I do; she'll probably be able to keep them on the table most of the time.Verdict:You get what you pay for in this case. If you want polyhedral objects which you can throw, and want to easily read white numbers from purple backgrounds, these will satisfy your needs! I can't say these are a bad purchase when they are so inexpensive, and a statement like this requires 3 stars and a qualified thumbs up. My wife likes them. But realize that you can purchase some of Chessex's "shinier" sets for twice the price - meaning, in this case, just a few extra dollars. If you care about your quality gaming sets - if you like to stare at your dice or show them to friends or have them match a theme - do pay the few extra bucks to avoid these factory seconds. 3Well made and prettyThey're dice. You can roll them or play with them. Sometimes I throw these at my wizard when he is being a pain in my nether-region. After extensive play and study of the dice and the product's performance I have come to the conclusion that they have lot of sides and can be rolled to generate random numbers.I have also learned that they do not make good pizza topping or cake decorations.Seriously, if you are looking for usable dice, these work. If you like purple and see-through, then give it a shot. If not, you will have to buy one of the other 1million sets on Amzn. 5
