You can crush the plastic items between you fingers and the basket can be purchased for a quarter on the junk toy aisle. 1Not as pictured.Waste of money. I wish I would ve read some of the 1 and 2 star reviews before purchasing because they are right. Each basket is different and not as pictured. I received duplicate items in the same basket. Some of the fruits aren t even the correct color. Just cheaply made and some don t resemble anything at all. Don t waste your money on this product. 1Very thin plasticAlthough the play food is cute and looks like the real thing it is made with very thin plastic and doesn't hold up well. We have only had the play set for a couple of weeks and have already lost over half of the pieces due to them being crumpled with general play. 1Excellent variety of "groceries" that will promote imaginationComes with an awesome variety of "groceries" that all fit comfortably in the basket for easy clean up. Good quality plastic that will hold up to enthusiastic play, though they won't be impervious to rough play. Excellent value for a toy that will promote imagination and also help create familiarity with a variety of food groups. I'm looking forward to playing with this with our kids as I'm a certified personal trainer and always looking for opportunities to help build a healthy relationship with food! Came inside of a cute shopping basket that has two handles. The little cardboard box type items did not survive long, but the plastic items will likely last a long time. The plastic food items can dent pretty easily if squished, bitten, or stepped on. Made from a relatively thin plastic. Still super cute though and fairly good quality for the price. Has a much better variety of normal foods & healthy foods than many other options out there. However, the product wasn't really for her, now was it. Our daughter LOVES it. She is 1year 9 months and it has become her new favorite toy. She loves putting the stuff in the basket, taking it out, and pretending to eat the food. 5Great gift for any cooking kiddo.4 stars instead of 5 since the product was not as pictured. The picture shows - pizza, french fries, a while chicken, red and green peppers, and all the canned and boxed foods are not included in the basket. The names on the box and cans were changed - black pepper sauce, powder milk, etc. the colors are vibrant and the basket is exactly as pictured.The packaging was secure for a gift - a plastic lid zip tying it to the basket and then covered in a clear plastic wrap to keep the items clean.My son is 2 and he loved this gift. He had me sit with him and identify every item individually. He proceeded to cry when I would not allow him to bring the whole basket full with us on our errands today. They are hollow plastic with a single hole for ventilation - this is helpful when your little decides he may want to taste each item and bite it.All in all I'd buy again once the boxes and fruit start dying on us, especially for the price. Out of the items listed as included, I did not receive cauliflower, french fries, watermelon, pizza, pie, or pineapple, which were some of the ones I really needed to show vocabulary. This is very handy for storage. Also, the plastic food is made of sturdy plastic, which keeps it from getting smashed. This set is mostly vegetables and fruits. It might be great for vegan families, lol.The boxes are paper, however, so they aren't going to last long at all. Also, the fruits and veggies are all just one color each, which doesn't make them very realistic looking. I bought another set that has painted details on the food, and the boxes are made out of durable plastic. Also, the set includes more varied foods like ice cream, pretzels, spaghetti, and other things that kids eat and are familiar with.. The other set does not come with a basket. I went to the Dollar Store and bought one cheap, and the food fits in it perfectly. 3Pretty disappointed. The food is cute but was not ...Ordered this for our 18 month old daughter. Searched for a long time looking for larger play food that would not be a choking hazard. The product info says a different age range than the 3+ years.
