    Piece broke on me, still cute toyI read many reviews on various sellers of this item. I bought these thinking my kids would love them (they do) but one of the buttons already broke off. I was playing a song for my kids and the very bottom button broke off the sax. We all still play together with them, but I was looking for something a little longer lasting. 3Plastic Trumpet/Saxophone Shaped HarmonicasI researched the best toy instruments on Amazon and found that Bontempi was rated the highest. However, they were more expensive. I found this set that came with the trumpet and saxophone. These looked like the Bontempi instruments and cost a little less so I went for it. Turns out, although packaged as Click N' Play, the actual instruments themselves had Bontempi stickers on themMy 3 y/o loves music and is always pretending we're in a band with his drums, guitar, keyboard, and microphone which are all real. He requested a trumpet after seeing a high school marching band at the State Fair. I knew the real instrument would be too big for him and much too expensive for preschool exploration.The instruments don't sound anything like a real trumpet or saxophone. Not sure what I expected, but they have more of a harmonica sound. He likes them but initially had a little trouble learning how to blow and make sound. You have to push the keys to make sound come out. The songs are printed on the box. I wish they had a little booklet instead of having to keep the box.They are plastic and I was worried about the quality since my little guy is pretty rough on toys. I considered putting them in the music room with the real instruments to be used with supervision only, but took the chance of leaving them out. They have been in his playroom for 1.5 months and don't show any damage yet.Although I have mixed feelings about them, overall I think it was a good purchase. I'm happy to develop and feed my son's love of music. Even though the quality isn't what I imagined for the price, I don't think I could have gotten anything satisfying for a cheaper price. 4Somewhat out of tune, but otherwise great ideaSo, they are really cute and I like that you have to blow air into them in order to play them - no batteries. I have 2 degrees in music performance, so if I had to be critical, I will say the scale on the saxophone is somewhat out of tune, as well as a few notes on the trumpet. They aren't unbearably loud and obnoxious like a real beginner saxophone or trumpet player would sound, and overall I'd recommend them. 4Bring on the jamsWith triplet boys who pretend to be in the marching band these toys by far have been the best. I wish I would have ordered 2 sets one for our house and one for Granma's. 5this trumpet made me famousSo I bought this trumpet/saxaphone so I could play The Call to the Post (think kentucky derby) at a horse racing gambling tent at a church picnic and it was a huge hit. Me and my gf practiced on the trumpet for 4 hours before the big event because neither of us could find the notes to play the call to the post on the internet so we had to do it by sound - which was extremely difficult since we don't know anything about music.By the way, you get what you pay for. These are toys. 5fun but not very durableWhile this product lasted, my kids had a blast with them. They were easy to handle and a lot of fun. The volume was manageable and even played by two very inexperienced musicians, the sound was minimally annoying.On the down size, both items had broken within a couple of weeks and when we received them, they were loose in the box.I've honestly considered re-buying the product as my kids greatly enjoyed them and they were fairly affordable. If you have a more gentle child with a beginner interest in music, this would likely be a great product for them. 4My son loves these instrumentsMy son loves these instruments. They re a great introduction to the real thing. They re durable (my 3 yr old boy hasn t broken them yet ) and the different color buttons make it easy for them to see the buttons. My only negative is that you do need to blow pretty hard into them and be pushing down buttons in order for them to make any sound 4Mouthpiece is upside downThis was a Christmas gift for my musically-minded 6-y.o. son. I read the reviews about the quality and knew in advance that the plastic is brittle and construction was inferior. But it was really the only affordable choice I could find for a kiddo who had been asking and asking for months to have a saxophone. Still, I was disappointed when we saw that the MOUTHPIECE IS UPSIDE DOWN! So annoying! The picture currently on Amazon shows it upside down but on the box it was shown as right-side up. Ugh. Terrible quality control. We can t even order a new one it will likely be from the same poorly made batch. Honestly, unless they lower the price to dollar-store levels, it s not worth the money.UPDATE: this thing lasted one month. One of the finger keys broke this morning. My child didn t even play with it every day, so, in reality, we got *maybe* 1.5 to two weeks of play out of it? So lame. 1I was disappointed that the plastic looked so cheapI'm going to be honest; when I first opened these, I was disappointed that the plastic looked so cheap. BUT appearances aren't everything, because they are actually pretty durable and well-made. I got these for my kids for Christmas, since my son had asked for a toy trumpet and this was the only one I could find ideal for a 5 year old. My kids totally love them! I like that the keys are functional, the sound they make isn't irritating, and multiple keys can be pressed for a harmonized tone. Really glad I got these. 5Great toy trumpet. My grandson loves this trumpet! He s almost 2. He currently has his own upside down playing style and I m confident he will flip it when he decides to. 5
