The PERFECT busy book for travel with toddlersHands down this is my favorite "busy book" to have on hand. Kept my 1.5 year old engaged for a solid hour of quiet play while in my lap on an airplane. Strangers walked up asking, "What book is that? Is that handmade?". A woman even commented, "I can't believe she's so into it!"Easy to maneuver pieces for little hands. Great sorting activities, pretend play, and educational conversation starters. I love it so much and recommend it to any mom preparing to travel with a toddler. 5Bought for 15-month-oldThese are pricey but very well-made. I bought both this one and When I grow up at the same time, but they come with a 15% off coupon for a future purchase so I wish I had waited to buy the second one.While the recommended age is 3+, I bought this for my 15-month-old, thinking he would grow into it and could at least do the Velcro things for now. He loves these and begs to get them down whenever he notices them, but he is definitely a bit too young. The Velcro is quite strong and the pockets are tight (both good things in a product like this so pieces don t get lost!) so you tend to need two hands and he just doesn t have the dexterity for it yet. That said, he loves to try, and he points to things and has me do them for him. He s already getting better at several of the skills needed, so it s good fine-motor practice (although I m honestly surprised he doesn t get more frustrated by it.) So, it s not the solo entertainment I had hoped quite yet, but he loves them and I believe will continue to love them. I also have to check the whole book every time I put it away to make sure the pieces made it back to their spots, which is a little cumbersome for now. A note on the pieces and little ones - if you have a little who constantly puts things in his/her mouth, consider waiting. Mine listens well and hasn t had the urge to put these anywhere near his mouth (probably because the parts that come out are just felt so nothing to gum) but it could certainly be a choking hazard if you ve got a little gummer. I also have a particularly attentive little, but a more age-appropriate busy book for his age would probably have more to do on each page.We bought these for a flight because every toy we use on long car trips makes noise and we didn t want to be murdered by our seat mates, and I think they will be great for that... as long as we can keep track of the pieces. We ve already used them on a three-hour car trip that turned into a seven-hour car trip (thanks, blizzard) and they definitely saved us from meltdown territory. We did temporarily lose a piece that went over the side of the car seat. Since there is Velcro on the back of a lot of pieces, they ll find creative spots to stick themselves in a car interior. :-| 5Great value and qualityMy 18 month-old daughter loves this book, and although she can't do every activity in it yet, I know she's going to grow into it. She especially loves brushing the teeth (and trying to brush her own!), buckling the dog's collar, and moving food from the fridge to the plate and back. She does get a little frustrated that not everything Velcros off - for example, she really wants to pick up the fork to "eat" the food - but this kept her busy for a solid 30 minutes on a long flight recently, so it gets an A++ in my book! The quality also appears impeccable; she'll have a hard time destroying this one, and it's for a price point exponentially smaller than most busy books on the market. 5Love that it is self contained!I appreciate that the book zips up so that all of the pieces stay contained! I would love it even more if there were maybe two age level versions of this book, one for young toddlers with a couple more activities. One for older tots with more fine motor and puzzles. My two year old loved most of it but skipped the shoe tying page, the dog collar buckle, and the flower buttons were too tricky for him to be able to do. He could do everything else other than that though, even the color matching laundry. It was helpful for our 6 six hourflight! 4Great quiet toy for kidsWe recently had our second child and wanted to make sure our firstborn didn't feel left out so we got him this book and he loves it! This book has stood up to a lot of punishment from our 2 yr old and is still intact. He has tugged, pulled, bitten and stomped on this thing and it hasn't ripped or broken at all. He loves playing with all the activities inside and it keeps him busy and quiet. 5Highly recommendI bought this book for my little one to play with while we were in the plane traveling, and it kept her entertained for a while.This is not suggested for children under 3 but I was there with my 15mos old supervising her. I love that it's very colorful and it comes with different activities.The book saved me from going crazy in the airplane. It's very hard to travel with children. 5It was OK for a commercial product.Bought this for our friend's daughter..I was a little disappointed as I had made one for our daughter when she was small. I know that this is a commercial product, but some of the parts were disappointing. The belt buckle is so very tiny that it is hard for even tiny hands to buckle,,oh well, guess I will just have to get busy and make one for her instead. 3My 2 year old loves this! Clever designI found myself extremely grateful for this book during an 8 hour flight to Costa Rica with my 2 year old :) This kept him occupied off and on for hours... somewhat of a rarity for my active little guy. He had a blast learning how to zip and unzip, velcro clothes to the doll inside, play with the velcro socks and washer... too cute. He loved it, and we were so happy he actually stayed in his seat for the entire trip!!! :) Definitely recommend this book. I will also add that somewhere, after an 8 hour flight each way, and weeks in the Costa Rican jungle with this toy... we lost 0 pieces. That was only possible because the entire book zips closed and all pieces velcro to the book itself or are attached to the book. Very clever manufacturing, and we definitely appreciate all the forethought that went into this little miracle occupier! 5Amazing! Kept him busy for hours!This was such a great purchase. It kept my 20 month old busy for hours on a long flight. He spent a lot of time on each page. The book is also good quality and looks like it will last a long time and it was small enough to pack in a carry on. I struggled with purchasing this as I wasn't sure if it was worth spending that much, but I'm so glad that I did because nothing else kept him busy for as long on the plane. 5Must buy for toddler!I totally love this book for my granddaughter. She is two and loves it too especially the sockies ! Growing up my grandma had handmade a beautiful quiet book for my older brother. All of us younger kids learned and loved those books. I found this on Amazon and was THRILLED! Unfortunately I don t have the creative talents my grandma had otherwise I wouldn t be here writing this review! Buy this product! I have not been gifted or compensated in any way but I believe in this! Kids are fascinated by learning these simple things, we get about an hour of quiet okay time with this book almost 3-4 times per week. I d say well worth the price. 5
