Be gentle and they work beautifully!I was a little worried that these spinners would 1) fall off the board when spun and 2) come to rest in a vertical position more often than anything else. But they are great as long as you spin them carefully. Once you get the hang of how much force is needed (spin too hard and yes, they do fall right off), they work very well, and they do NOT always land pointing straight up or straight down, not at all (that one was my biggest worry). My students LOVE these, and I love how I can use them for just about anything. I do wish the magnets were much stronger so I could let the kids spin them (we tried, but first graders just can't spin them gently) but that's a minor issue. 5It's okay but overpricedLike the spinners - they do what they are supposed to. As others have written, they tend to move easily on the magnet board when you spin them. Way overpriced for the product, as almost all educational materials are!!! 3Super Fun and Useful ToolI love these spinners for my classroom. I use one to point to our volume level during tasks. The others are great for choosing which activity, doling out rewards or consquences, using with words or numbers in math, teaching probability etc. The uses go on and on. 55 Star Classroom Tool!Great classroom tool. I had these spinners for the last few months of school and they were a great addition.I am an 8th grade science teacher and I used these spinners for all sorts of stuff. Classroom management, identification questions, and more fun stuff these always came in handy. I would let students come up to the board and spin, this drove my classroom participation way up, especially from that student you didn't think would care. These spinners are bigger than I expected. This is nice because every student can clearly see them.The product is made to last. These spinners are still rockin' and they have been in an 8th grade science room for three months.Pros:- Large- Easy to use- Fun to useCons:- I would not use these to hold things up on your board, but that's not what they are really for. 5Quite large, fun, and spin nicelyI bought these to use as indicators of where each person in the house is (we have a split upstairs layout). The magnet board is on the landing, and the pointers are large enough to see from the top or bottom of the stairs. Each is unique, so they are perfect for my purpose. 5Increases Student EngagementI use these in my classroom to call on students. I place them on the white board and write the student's names in a circle. I can get about 11 names around each one. It keeps the students engaged and watching to see who it lands on. It also keeps me from only calling on the three students who always volunteer. It is a great way to increase student engagement. 5They Stick, They Spin, They Point. Nuff Said.The only negative thing about these spinners is that they drift down the magnetic whiteboard if they're spun too hard, and I cannot say there's a way to design around that - unless a really strong magnet would do the trick. But seriously, get yourself a magnetic whiteboard, draw a circle and voila! I've used it in class for quiz games; I've used it with adults for icebreakers; I've used it with youth as a way to randomize who does what task/chore. If all my teaching supplies were stolen, I'd re-order this in a jiffy. Some educators make "emergency lists" for when they travel/substitute teach. This would be on my top 10 list.I'd actually rate it a 4.5 out of 5, but seeing as the average to date is 4 stars, I'll give it 5. 5This product is very sturdy and doesn't come off of magnetic wipe board even ...This product is very sturdy and doesn't come off of magnetic wipe board even with a good spinning. It does travel a little bit if the kids get rough, but stays put with normal use. The fact that there are three different ones means I can specify a spinner to one type of game/activity.This product is great overall, but I would suggest looking around a bit before ordering. Even though I compared several online and in stores before ordering these, I found almost the exact same product at the Dollar Tree a week after receiving these. They work just as well!I still give this a good rating, though, because of the availability. Items at the Dollar Tree are not kept in stock long. I think the price is well worth it and that I just got very lucky finding them more cheaply later on. 4A shot of WD40 and they're goldenI bought these a few months ago and have used them daily in the classroom ... The caveat - the magnets are not that strong, you need to be a bit careful with them, and after a week or so, they tended not to spin very evenly 9as another poster mentioned). I gave each one a wee shot of WD40 (spray lubricant) and they've been spinning like a storm ever since.I'm sure there are plenty of others out there, but these ones are working just fine for me - after a quick WD40. 4these are sooo cute! my 3rd graders loveeee these ...these are sooo cute! my 3rd graders loveeee these! i could get them 2 think e/thing is exciting with these!!! i am very excited 2 have these 2 use in my classroomUPDATE:i just want to tell you all when I first saw these that I thought they were very expensive and I was debating if I should buy them or not and than when I got them I was very pleased with how they look and I thought will they really work? but these are GREAT high quality spinner 2 use on your whiteboard. I am always looking for ways to make the lessons / review time come alive- and this does the trick! My students love when I ask review questions using these spinners- they all want to be the one who is called on to come up and spin! Whats great about these is that there is sooo many variations of how you can use a spinner- they are very eye catching designs and vibrant colors too! They can be used probably for every subject.With creativity, these can really be an awesome addition 2 any classroom! I feel so happy to have discovered these early on and to have these as an addition to my classroom! 5
