    Shiny, bright gold coins These are very shiny, bright gold colored, plastic coins.They are super light weight. I believe the gold color is part of the 'mixture' used to make the coins. Some people wrote about the gold rubbing off coins, but that won't happen with these. I got some different coins that I like better, but my 4 year old nephew never even mentioned seeing a difference. If you get the doug and melissa treasure chest and take their stuff out, these coins almost fill it up (notice that I got the 288 count coins). The other coins I purchased are an add on item, US Toy, Ancient Pirate Coins, 72 pieces. 4These worked out well for my outdoor St Patrick's Day decorations. These worked out well. I used these for a St. Patrick's Day themed decoration to create a "pot of gold protected by Gaelic gargoyles. From about a foot or so away they look like real metal.
