    My heart aches...Dear, god, this paint job was horrific. The black on the face was smeared, the colors on the lions ran into the white. If you're a collector, the box was scraped up a bit too. The paint on the face was so bad you wouldn't even want to display it in the box unless that box was well above eye level.As a toy (it's intended purpose), my kid loves it, hence the two stars instead of one. It's a disappointment because the design is super cute. I wouldn't say it's so bad it destroyed my childhood (the crushing weight of the real world did that years ago), but come on, Funko. Let's up the game a bit, huh?On the other hand, it does seem to be making my kid's childhood more fun, so it's a wash I guess.2Might need a touch upPaint job is a little spotty but otherwise this is perfect! When you purchase funko pops dont go expecting to get mint designed pieces and that goes for almost every figure in any matket period but you can find some really nice ones or ones with only a few. Straight from my adolescent days =)5Defender of the Pop collection!Love this Pop, great detail and of course the nostalgia!5Voltron - Defender of the Pop Vinyl Figure Universe!I used to love this cartoon when I was a kid in the 80's and even had all the lions that joined together to form the giant robot. Like a lot of the toys from my childhood, I really wish I'd kept the Voltron Lions. Even had the little men (and one woman) who piloted the lions and fit inside the toys. So when I saw Funko had this thing coming out, I just had to get one. It has proved to be pretty popular in stores though, every time I've gone in, they always told it only lasted a few hours on the shelf, so I ultimately had to buy one on online. Like all Funko Pop Vinyls though there are paint blemishes, and not being able to pick one up in store and check it over makes these things a bit of a gamble. Mine has some white paint on the black part of his head, has a chip out of the upper jaw lion mouth part of his face visor and a few other bits of stray paint all over it. Funko Pop Vinyls are always a gamble, you never know what blemishes will be on there, but there will be some.This is actually a pretty cool looking figure. It doesn't 100% look like Voltron from the 80's cartoon series but of course it's not supposed to. If you're unfamiliar with Pop Vinyls and are just getting this as it's cheap in relation to other Voltron toys out there, keep in mind that like say when the Muppets dress up as Treasure Island, Wizard of Oz or other characters, Funko Pop Vinyl figures all have some resemblance to a standard figure, let's call him Funko for want of a better name. The Pop Vinyls are basically Funko dressed up as movie and TV show characters. They all share the same small triangular nose (painted blue in this case), the same widely spaced circular eyes, (usually black but painted yellow in Volton's case), they have no mouth and all have an over sized head and small body. So things like the big red metal windmill wing things that usually stick out on his back over his head are smaller and don't reach the head in the Funko Pop Vinyl version. You can't move any limbs of Funko Pop Vinyl bodies, but you can rotate the head at the neck, to have him in slightly different poses. Obviously Voltron's body is a bit different to the norm being it is made up of the five lion vehicles, (four as the limbs and the leader larger black lion as the body and head). Nicely the red lion is also holding a large sword (which can't be removed). Still knowing all that it's still a pretty good resemblance, perhaps they could have made the black around his eyes blue like in the cartoon though would be my only gripe. It also wouldn't have been a bad idea to have made it the larger 6 inch size like Godzilla, Stay Puft and the other high rise building size creatures. I would also love to see Funko bring out the vehicle version Voltron.Voltron Pop Vinyl stands up by himself no problem, you can even brush up against him and he stays upright a lot better than most other Pop Vinyls do. Any kid who loved the Japanamation cartoons as a kid will want to own one of these as an adult.5and this company has a great selection.My grandson loves to collect thees, we make it our monthly mission to find new ones, and this company has a great selection.5
