Great toy, includes cool pieces that smaller sets don't haveGot this for my 5 year old, but I think I might like it more than he does. He had a smaller Galt marble run set, which was fun, but that set didn't include some of the cooler pieces. My favorite pieces are the vortex pieces and the 2-way chute that allows you to branch marbles onto alternate runs. Honestly, I wish I had a couple more of the 2-way chutes to build even bigger, more elaborate runs with more branches... I might be developing an obsession. 55yo daughter loves it!Bought for my 5yo for Christmas and she loves it. It is a bit easy to knock down which can be frustrating with an 18mo godzilla for a baby bro but is still lots of fun. 5It's Okay, But The Kids Like It... I'd give a three, but since the kids like it, I gave it a four.Once you get it built, it is entertaining. The trouble is getting it built. It doesn't come with directions, but it is fairly easy to just make your own race BUT it is fairly flimsy, and I got frustrated helping my children put it together. Also, you need to have some patience because figuring out how to make the bridges and curves all work properly so the marbles have different paths to go down can be very tricky!I would strongly suggest getting at least the 100 piece set because not only will it give you more to work with, but it will also help to balance the set, because as I stated, this thing can be real flimsy. It fell many times while trying to put it together. 4Keeps them entertainedWe've had this run since June and my kids still love playing with it. I bought it for my 5 yr old's birthday. He and his friends love it. Regarding the sturdiness - it's about as sturdy as they come - I'm not sure what people were expecting. Does it fall apart, occasionally, but it usually happens when they try to build it too tall or without strategically placing the base parts or if it gets knocked over because they are really excited about what they are doing. As a comparison, if my kids stacked Legos of all the same size bricks this tall it would fall apart as well.This really isn't a toy for a 2.5-3 yr old, my youngest constantly knocks it over and it falls apart when it topples over. He still loves to play with it, but needs help.I wasn't bothered by the lack of instructions, however, my wife did not agree at first. Part of the fun is building different runs and figuring out where the marbles will go. It really encourages problem solving, logic, creative thinking and reasoning skills.I wish we had bought the bigger set as the kids fight over the pieces. It's best for 1 or 2 kids.This is made of a hard thick rigid plastic. It will break before it bends though we haven't had any break.I do wish it had better storage - the cardboard box didn't last long and doesn't have a closure.Overall - one of the best toys we've bought. 5Great ToyWhen we first got this toy, we were a bit stressed with trying to build the model shown on the box. There were no directions inside the box, so we just kept looking at the picture. The whole marble run kept tipping and breaking while we tried to build this elaborate structure. Eventually the toy was put away and we recently just took it out again, but this time built our own creations. My kindergartner loves being able to design her own run. She has learned so many things from building with this set, like which way the pieces have to go to make the marble go through the course, how to build faster courses, etc. Now my children fight over the pieces and I'm tempted to get more pieces for more fun. Perhaps the company would be better off showing multiple pictures (some smaller structures) on the box so that children do not get discouraged when they try to build the big one. 4Requires PatienceThis is a great toy once put together (if it stays together long enough), it's loads of fun. The problem is, getting it together. There are no guideline instructions included, only the picture on the box and the color pieces included are not completely the same as the picture. I can accept the issue there are not instructions, as problem solving is something I like to teach my children. Yet the pieces do not stay together well, at all. It easily falls apart. It's very frustrating especially once it's finally put together and ready for the marbles and it tears apart with the slightest touch. Unless you have a very patient child, I'd avoid this toy. 3High Quality!I originally bought the Toys R Us version of this for my son for Christmas. It was so terrible that we returned it and bought this one. Yes, this one was quite a bit more expensive, but absolutely worth it! It is high quality plastic that fits together easily. The marbles are real glass, and could be easily replaced if they went missing. We build it with my 2 1/2 year old son (who can only help a little). I predict that he will have years to grow into this, and I absolutely believe the quality will stand up to the time. As for the guy that said you should glue it together...half the fun is building it different every time! If you have a kid that likes to build things, this is a win! 5All smiles from my 5 yr oldI looked at many marble runs on Amazon before deciding on the Mega marble run by Galt. The videos sold me - the runs looked smooth and the plastic looked thick and sturdy. This set did not disappoint. My 5 yr old son plays with it for hours at a time - creating new courses and sending all the marbles down over and over again. The marbles run smooth and with adequate support and the pieces stay together. We have even made runs taller than him without them crashing down. It comes with a booklet with a few sample runs, but you really don't need it. My son just builds his own and it is not at all frustrating or difficult. I hope Galt comes out with some expansion packs because we would love to add more interesting pieces to the set but all the smaller sets contain mostly the same pieces ( just less of them). This set contains 20 glass marbles, a 5/8 inch marble which can be easily found on Amazon should you need to replace them. Only issue I had with this set is that the prong things for the funnels fall off very easily and have to be placed in a certain way because of the shape of the funnel. You may need to help your little one with those. Otherwise, nothing but fun! 5Get it for a little one and don't tell anyone how much you enjoy it too!!!Great toy for my 3 yr old grandson. I keep this at my house and get him about once a week. Every time we get to my house, it's "Grandpa, let's play the marble game." Don't sweat the reviews that talk about directions, etc. Use your imagination and help the little ones to use theirs. This is great education and, even at 3, my grandson likes rebuilding it every week and we have a blast trying out the new design. We build it "standalone", starting off a table, etc. Loads of fun and recommended. 5but was thrilled to see how easy it was to put back togetherI bought this for my 5 year old grandson. Even though there are no instructions included you can build off the picture on the box if you need help. Once you figure out how each piece works, assembly is a piece of cake. I did put it together before my grandson got here and he had a blast playing with it. He was so excited he accidently knocked part of it over, but was thrilled to see how easy it was to put back together. In a few days I will take it down and then together we will make a different arrangement. I do plan on buying an add on set. Even my husband had a blast playing with his grandson. I rank this as one of the best toys ever. I would never EVER glue the pieces together. That would make it impossible to take down and create something new. What makes this toy so great is that putting it together requires learning how each part works and creativity ... along with the joy of watching all those crazy marbles running down the maze at once. We had one paddle wheel unable to turn so I swapped it the other one and both work perfectly. I would give this 10 stars if I could !!! 5
