Excellent dish set!Great dish set! I bought these for my grand niece and she loves them! She uses them with real food since they are FDA approved for food contact, and her mom just throws them in the dishwasher with no problems. The colors of the dishes are nice too, not to bright, but soft and neutral. A major plus is that they are made from recycled jugs and are Made in the USA! Eco-friendly and affordable sign me up! 5Fun toy that had two things a parent may want...First off, the daughter loves playing with this set. Nice colors, the shapes are clean of the cheap plastic fringe that the molds of other sets can leave behind, and the construction is of unbelievable quality...thick, light pebbled texture for grip, and a good variety of shapes and implements. The frying pan is fun to flip wood food items in like Emiril, and the Dutch oven looks like Le Crueset! Second, as a common sense environmentalist, recycling doesn't work unless there's demand for the stuff made out of recycled goods...so, we gotta put our money where our mouths are. These toys make perfect sense, not only does it put some demand (the $$ reward for communities/business doing the collecting) on a substantial waste stream in the US but it also employs Americans who's kids may be going to school some day with my kid! Our daughter will be getting the sandbox set, the recycling truck and the dump truck for her 2nd birthday...gotta love a business model like this! Way to go Green Toys! 5Perfect play dish setI've heard many good things about green toys. This is the first of their products I bought. I am amazed at how durable this set is. My daughter has played with it for 2.5 months now. It's held up well and I believe it will continue to hold up for many years to come. My husband thinks the forks are oddly shaped. They are more like sporks. I love the simple muted colors as opposed to the bright colors of some of the other brands. We also have the Melissa and Doug set that comes with the dish holder, sponge, and soap container. We definitely like these dishes better. They go better with our daughters kitchen and the are a much more durable and solid product. 5Love that these are safe and non-toxic.I found these by looking at the Environmental Working Group's website for non-toxic toys. My daughter just bought my grandson a new play kitchen and I wanted to purchase some dishes for him to use that are non-toxic. He LOVES these, the are the perfect size and I am so glad I got the non-toxic kind as when he pretends to eat he always puts the forks/spoons in his mouth! These are well made, substantial and nice to look at. I wish all toys were made of this green recycled material! It is not the flimsy cheap plastic chemical laced dishes you see in the store . Highly recommend ! 5Absolutely wonderful set of dishes!These dishes rock. Seriously - my daughter has played with them every single day since she got them a week before Christmas. She loves them, and so does her 7-year-old brother (I think he plays with them *almost* as much as she does!).They are very sturdy and look quite nice. They've been stepped on, moved from our house to grandma's and back, thrown around (literally) and they still look wonderful. They should stand up to years of continual use...and I like that they are made of recycled products and are food-safe (for those little ones who like to actually put real food on their play dishes;). Another bonus? They are made right here in the U.S. I can feel good about letting my kids play with these and I certainly enjoy watching the hours of fun play they've had so far (I think every stuffed animal in the house has had a dinner/tea party with my 2-year-old daughter). Daddy has had his share as well...I highly recommend this set, as well as the tea set that Green Toys also makes. The dishes are very high-quality and durable, and look quite nice. 5Customer Service @ Green ToysI have to be honest when I got this set in the mail I realized that the set is not as complete as you would immediately think. I thought it was a combo on the dish set and chef set it is not! The set does not include the spatula and ladle (they are not included in the product description, it just didn't register in my brain). Which is quite simply, SILLY! I called the company, however, to let them know that I was surprised to discover this and that they ought to either sell them separately or better yet include it. With no need for explanation the woman I spoke with said she would send out the missing pieces. I thanked her but did point out that they weren't missing from my box but rather were not supposed to be included but I hadn't realized that when purchasing. She said "no problem, I will still send them out anyway because you expected them." I was very pleasantly surprised! I will be back to post if they came and if there were any surprise charges but so far I am very happy with Green Toys Customer Service. By the way, I am also thrilled that we have a great quality item available that is on so many levels good, for our Economy, Society and Environment!!!!!!!!! US Made is too rare, so thanks for these toys!!!!UPDATE: The spatula and ladle arrived, at no charge, just 5 days after contacting the company! So pleased!! 5Play Dishes You Can Actually Use with Real Food!!!Gender neutral play dishware that you can actually use! It's dishwasher and food safe, so if your kid wants to have a dinner party or lunch date with REAL vs FAKE food, you can let them!! It's a good size for small hands and fit in with the kitchen playset we already owned. One possible con: in the interests of safety, I'm sure, the knives and forks are not so sharp, which might make them more challenging to eat with instead of real cutlery. Green Toys also sells a Tea Set in this same style. 5so you can use the plates and bowls as real ones if you'd like! My daughter is 16 months old and received ...My kid plays with this ALL THE TIME. She loves the lidded Dutch Oven. She loves to stir in the bowls and cups. Everything is food safe, so you can use the plates and bowls as real ones if you'd like! My daughter is 16 months old and received it as a birthday gift when she was a year old, and I'd say it's easily one of her favorite toys. Maybe when she's older she'll play setting the table, or something, but right now she's getting a kick out of the imaginative aspects and feeding her dolls.Love the colors. Love the texture. It is very well made. 5
