Affordable Headband Magnifier with Small Improvement RequestedUpdated: 03/16/2018I have found that by removing the nose piece (2 small screws) and using a thick piece of cloth across the forehead for comfort when utilizing the headband, this product may be used much more comfortably and without pressure on the bridge of the nose. I now would like to suggest that the company provide a fitted rubber or cloth piece to attach to this Hands-free Headband Magnifier to provide more comfort and flexibility to consumers. (Thank you!)_____The Hands-free Headband Magnifier is a wonderfully affordable product with two ways to attach to your head. I really enjoy wearing it with the stretchable headband. It is very secure and stays tight. It is also nice to have a variety of magnifications that are easily removed and attached. The LED light is bright and works great. You can even use it as a headlamp only without using any of the magnifications, if needed.If I were going to suggest a feature to improve upon, it would be the nose piece. The nose piece is not adjustable and can cause a bit of discomfort, due to wearing snugly to discourage movement. The weight of the batteries sitting on the bridge of the nose causes the nose piece to push down on the bridge of the nose, making it a bit uncomfortable. While the nose piece does have rubber coverings, which is tolerable, it would be nice to add additional soft coverings, for those needing the extra padding. Possibly including lightweight foam pieces for the user to attach?I hope this helps... 4Works, but has a few flaws.Decently comfortable and has a nice range of magnification levels. My only real gripe about this magnifier is the focal length. There really isn't a good focal length for soldering work, and you end up needing to be VERY close to the item you're working on in order to take advantage of the magnification. Also, you can't use the strap at the same time as the glasses legs, so you're stuck with the item either sliding down the ridge of your nose with the glasses legs, or sliding down or up your head with the strap. Wish there was a way to incorporate the use of both simultaneously. 3Wider lens pleaseHubby laughed when he first saw this, but as the saying goes, "She who laughs last..." Anyway, I'm just about to order a second pair as I want my own. I really like the multiple lens strengths and find I use different lenses for different tasks. And the LIGHT. To have light exactly where I need it is awesome. If there were any change at all that would make this better, it would be to make the lenses a bit wider. Small issue, though, to have hands free, lighted magnification. Lastly, even if these don't last a long time (though they seem to be solidly crafted), they are so inexpensive they would not be terribly hard to replace. I've paid more for glasses for reading or computer use. 4Highly RecommendI purchased this for my fiance because he likes to work on computers and he has to look at tiny pieces to solder on. I saw this headband magnifier and thought this was perfect to help him see the tiny pieces. I was right! This is basically like a pair of glasses that you put on and it has a light that helps you see as well as magnifying lenses. There are actually 5 different magnifying lenses that you can choose from to use. There is also a plastic case that they are in so you can keep them together and organized. The only complaint I have about the headband is that it hurts my fiance's nose on the brim where the glasses set. This may not affect everyone and it doesn't hurt him to the point where he can't use them but he does have to take them off after wearing them for a long period of time. Other than that I highly recommend! 4Magnifying lens with headband, fits well and works as expectedThis is a practical magnifier set, which includes 5 different lenses (offering different strengths of magnification) with a glass holder that includes an optional wrap around headband for additional stability. There is a lens cleaning cloth included as well as a case to store the lenses in. The lens holder apparatus includes an LED light to illuminate whatever you are examining. If you need to do precision work of any kind this magnifier will be valuable. This fit me well and the lenses are good quality. I would only suggest that there be a carrying or storage case offered for this whole kit, otherwise I am happy with this item. 5Pretty good!I'm actually pretty impressed with this kit!! It's not nearly as heavy as I expected, even with the batteries. The light is very bright and the lenses seem to be of reasonable quality. I honestly didn't have very high expectations when I purchased it but figured it would get me by until I could get a decent one. The unit is a bit on the heavy side so when looking down it tends to slide off a bit so I opted for the included elastic headstrap over the glasses style arms. For the money you can't go wrong. 5A little heavy on the head for me but does a good job overallI work with smaller items from time to time (fixing watches, glasses, etc.) and have a hard time seeing the finer details.A magnifying glass solves the problem but with only two hands and one holding onto a magnifying glass, that leaves me only one hand to work on my task. Bought this headband magnifier to solve that problem.Right out of the box will include the headband magnifier unit that includes the headband strap, 5 lenses with various magnifications in a box and a small microfiber cloth to clean off any dust or fingerprints on the lenses.The headband magnifier will require 3 AAA batteries which is not included. Insert them in the forehead area location. This is mainly for those who want to use the LED light which will come in handy if you work in areas where there's not much light. The two earpieces are removable so you can just depress the side button for each one and use the headband if you prefer that. The lenses are easy to insert and remove. Just push the lens in place and to remove, just slowly pull it out of the tab (next to the nose piece). The lens might be a bit too far from where your eyes are. You can adjust the distance by moving the piece that's attached to the lens.I tested this with a few items and so far can get used to this over time. My hands are free now to work on the task at hand instead of holding onto a magnifying glass.It is a bit heavy when wearing this for a long time. The right earpiece is also loose. It should be straight when I open both sides but the right side is limping a little. I tried removing the screw and tightening it without any success.Overall I'm happy with this purchase and recommend it to those who need to work on those fine tuning projects like repairing small electronics, etc. 4Ridiculously good value. High quality construction and optics for the price.For the price, this is a ridiculously good value. As in "buy one now, even if you don't know whether or not you need it."Here's the thing.A basic magnifying glass costs about this much, if you want a decent one with good optics. And everyone knows that a basic magnifying glass is a good thing to have around.Well if a basic magnifying glass is a good thing to have around, this is about 10x better to have around because it's hands-free. And the optics here are:- Excellent, very good quality, very good clarity- Variable, with several magnification levels- Substantial, with a very high quality levelAgain, the price here is ridiculous. Just buy it to have around, even if it's just to remove splinters from kids fingers. I picked up one, and after I got it and tested it out, I picked up a second, just to file away for down the road if/when the first one wears out.Because this is an amazing deal for the quality involved.Final side note: There are a few different sellers selling this same product at slightly different price points. I happen to have bought from two different sellers. There *is* a difference the one that I paid a dollar less for didn't come with 3 AA batteries in the box. The one that I paid a dollar more for did. Otherwise, the products are identical. 5For the money this is a fantastic deal. Does it rival Zeiss? Of course not, but much better quality than the price suggests.For the money this is a fantastic deal. The LED lights work much better than I thought they would. The optics are not superb but good enough to, for example, help me do a great job replacing an iPhone 6+ screen. Tiny bit of distortion around the edges, and yet I like them better than my previous Donegan' (which broke hence the replacement). I like that my view is not completely obstructed. The build quality is surprisingly good, but this is clearly not built for industrial or professional applications. The glasses really only worked with the elastic headband because it's important the keep the front piece firmly but comfortably against your forehead. The way the glasses are designed, though, makes them fairly comfortable for wearing several hours with a few breaks in between. I also wound up using the 2.5X over the 3.5 because the magnification was sufficient, and hide a wider and deeper view, which was helpful. I'm very pleasantly surprised and when you consider the price it truly is a no-brainer. 5
