Years of enjoymentWe were looking for a set of dishes and utensils that were sturdy and not flimsy as many of them tend to be. We found one with this set. Although it's not as sturdy as the set of fisher price that we got for our daughter 30+ years ago, it is a very good quality and the grand daughters will have lots of fun playing with them in their new kitchen! It also includes a set of bowls which was a real high lite for the kids.The utensils are not tiny and thin, so that one has to worry about the sharp points with little ones. 5For boys and girls!My 13 month old son loves these plates. He makes a mess then cleans up and puts them away! Worth it and the tray fits in the cabinetes of his play kitchen. 5Great set!I ordered this set of "dishes" for my soon-to-be two year old granddaughter. I chose this set over others because it came in a "dish drain" to help keep them organized, they are food safe, dishwasher safe, and BPA free, and they are bold primary colors. I had them sent directly to her and she was delighted with them! She had to "make" scrambled eggs as soon as she got them out of the package. 5Most played-with toy in our houseNot every toy at our house gets played with each day, except this one. My son, now 21 months, has been playing with this since he got it around four months ago. It has really encouraged him to pretend play and interact with others as he does so. The set has been a good size for him to hold, and to go with various other pretend food sets we've purchased. Having the dish holder is nice, but is a little tricky to get arranged and together for his age; we pack it up after play in another, smaller container. 5Only disappointment was that the rack does not have a place ...Only disappointment was that the rack does not have a place to put the spoon, knives and forks; that is, there is no "silverware" holder as one would find in a real drain rack. Only 1 little thing...the utensils tend to slide around a bit too much in the utensil spot and become a little hard to remove or pick up...maybe it was just adult size hands trying to fish it out? Either way, we just make sure to put it in a cup and ta-da...all good. Definitely not something that would prevent me from buying this. I like that it includes the big plate, small plate and soup bowl in addition to the utensils and drying rack...everything you more or less need. The little pot holders in the picture are NOT a part of the set...These are Lsunshine Silicone Pot Holders. Actual pot holders but perfect sized for toddlers and the colors match too!! 4I am well pleased with this set.I thought by purchasing this set of play dishes, I would be able to keep our little grandson out of my dishwasher. So far it is working and he loves these colorful dishes. They are sturdy enough for him to get a little rough and he actually is willing to take his medicine out of 'his own' spoons which is an added plus in my thinking. He enjoys stacking the dishes in the drainer and then taking them out to restack. He seems to be having a lot of fun with this set. I am well pleased with it. 5Great setI looked at a bunch of dish sets for my toddlers' play kitchen (KidKraft Deluxe Big & Bright Kitchen)KidKraft Deluxe Big & Bright Kitchen, and the choice came down to this one vs. the Green Toys dish setGreen Toys Dish Set, which I have seen at our local kids' museum and know to be very nice.Here's what I like about this set (in general, and also as opposed to the Green Toys set):1. the colors are bright and gender-neutral2. it comes with a dish rack (i.e. a place to store all these pieces!)3. the price is right4. the cups are regular drinking cups and not teacups5. the utensils are a little bit bigger than the Green Toys ones -- easier for my kids to use6. Having 8 plates comes in handy when you are hosting a big feast for all your stuffed animalsA few things I think are better about the Green Toys set:1. the bowls are definitely superior -- they have a higher edge and are easier to stuff a lot of food into2. it's BPA-free, recycled, and all that great stuff3. the pieces just feel less... plastic-y, even though they are still plastic (if you've ever felt a Green Toys product, you know what I mean)Ultimately, I chose this Kidzlane set and am pleased. The whole thing fits perfectly in the dishwasher of the KidKraft kitchen we have. Kids love the colors, the dish rack, the variety of pieces. 5Imaginative and EducationalI purchased this for my 1 and 5 year old sons for their play kitchen. They are great quality. They all fit back in the tray. They are the perfect size and very compatible for a small play kitchen. They have no chemical smells or anything that you sometimes worry about with plastic toys. I would personally suggest not using the silverware if you have a young child since it's hard for them to keep it out of their mouths. It looks a lot like actual toddler silverware that you can buy for your baby at the store and I think, therefore, is really confusing. Overall, I rate it 5 stars. It is great quality and encourages imagination, teamwork, and introduces real life skills. The color and size variations could even be used for educational early math skills. (Sorting, comparing, counting, etc.) 5
