It helps them learn vocabulary and grammar. My students love these games! 5Fun way to get thinking in Spanish againAlthough my kids' first language was Spanish, now that they are in school in English all day it's hard to get them to speak Spanish at home. Kloo is a fun way to get them thinking in Spanish and refreshing their vocabulary. It's easy to play even with friends that don't speak the language because of the colour coding of the cards that guide you in the sequence to make a sentence. They particularly like when the sentence end up being absurd and silly, but they still get the points. I highly recommend it. 5Kloo is fun and educational at the same time!I purchased Kloo for Spanish, and I absolutely love it! The game provides a unique learning experience for my son who is learning Spanish, and it is a great way for me to refresh my own Spanish skills. My husband is even excited about learning Spanish along withour son, and we all play the game together on family night. The game is easy to use for children and adults of all ages, and it is a great way to learn a foreign language while having fun at the same time! 5BuenoVery fun game that helps build sentences and basic vocabulary. I wish more everyday words were included, but there is a thing where you can print out cards and write more yourself, so it's okay. Always need more conjunctions and adjectives!! Always. As long as the players can read, this is a really fun game. My daughter loves making wacky sentences... like lifting a tv with a pen wacky.Also fun to play solo!! I write down the sentences sometimes to look back at and laugh. 5Great way to learn Spanish with the familyI have been working as an English teacher in Mexico. I wanted to teach my family a bit of Spanish while I was home for the holidays. This game has been a great way for them to learn. It is fun for me as a teacher to see what they remember and I think the vocab and sentence structure is sticking with them pretty well. It is nice that there are so many different variations of games that can be played once players are a bit familiar with the cards. I would recommend this as good practice for anyone starting out learning Spanish. Thanks for a fun game and learning tool! 5Kloo for fun and fluencyLiving in Las Vegas I have the opportunity to converse with Spanish speaking people on a daily basis, and wish that I had taken Spanish in high school (rather than German). In my quest to learn espanol, I have purchased workbooks and played computer games. Playing Kloo offers me the opportunity to work with others in a fun way to increase my fluency. 5Good quality cardsThe cards are high quality but I was really turned off by the notion that players gets points for translation. Translation as a living language teaching technique was popular in the 1700s through about 1970. I plan to try playing this with students but eliminate this part of the scoring. 3Interesting ideaIf you are learning Spanish, this card game can provide some variety in the learning process. They are well-made and colorful. The idea is fabulous. So, the three stars is because of three things: 1. After you've played them a few times you'll probably have mastered the words, and then it's a bit boring. There's only so many times and ways you can make these sentences before finding it to be no challenge at all. 2. The number of verbs to other parts of speech doesn't seem to come out right, so that you may end up with extra cards that you cannot play. We solved this by stealing some prepositions from the other decks and by making more noun cards out of the "directions" cards. And 3. For each deck they use only two subject conjugations on the verbs, and one of the decks uses the vosotros form for one of the two. For those of us learning Latin American Spanish, the vosotros form is not very useful. We've also remedied this by changing the vosotros forms to other conjugated forms.So, in a nutshell, if you have the money for a game that you won't use for long, or if you are teaching and therefore have a variety of people who will be using the cards, then they might suit you. For those of us buying these for our family, well...not such a great investment. 3Suitable for the classroom as well as at home.I loved it! I use it in the classroom with students and they had a blast! Also received it right away. 5
