Important reviewThis is what daughter-in-law emailed me:It said to keep away from food and food surfaces. Also said the fumes can be harmful. When she was trying to use it, it got on the table and ate away the finish.She really wants to use it, but after it messed up the table, I wasn t too sure about her using it. 1Great for boys & girls ages 5-12We bought this set as a gift, but my kids had this already & love it. My 6 year old son & 9 year old daughter love to create these erasers. The texture is like clay not like Play Doh. An adult has to bake the creations to cure them into erasers. 5Lots of fun!Lots of fun for the whole family! Everyone can be creative, the book shows a ton of ideas and gives instructions on many mini erasers. The erasers do really erase pencil after you have baked them. My son received this at Christmas and it was one of his favorites, there are not too many craft kits that are not specifically geared towards girls, but this one is not. 5Cute, works, easy, funThis is a fun easy craft, can model almost anything out of the clay and turn it into an eraser. You do go through the clay supplies quickly though, was only able to make a handful, with practice or experience working with clay might get more, ours did come out pretty large. And they work, really do erase. 4AwesomeWe've only made one eraser so far, but it baked up like a charm. So cool for a creative child. My nine year old loves filmo clay to bake, and loves collecting erasers, and this was a perfect gift for her to make her own! 5Fun activity for kiddosThis is more for the activity than the end result. Making shapes and creations was simple enough. Colors held up good when done. They don't really hold up as erasers though. One time activity. If they actually erased well then it'd be worth a second activity of making them. We use the idea book with model magic now. 3Fun!Me and my 5 year old had so much fun making these! 5Daughter likes it. The reason I subtract one star ...Daughter likes it. The reason I subtract one star is that the clay included in package is too small. You can make maybe 4-5 small tiny eraser from it, no more. 4Super fun, till you have erasers that don't work well.My daughter and I were really excited about making our own erasers. We have used Klutz Make Clay Charms Craft Kit and the Klutz Make Glitter Clay Charms Craft Kit. We were able to make adorable little charms, but now with this, they would be erasers too!! That is, till they weren't. Everything is fine and dandy till you have your finished products and it doesn't work well as an eraser. Making the erasers is easy, the instructions in the book are detailed and you end up with really cute erasers. Baking them is easy too, but once they're cooled and ready to use, they leave very noticeable smudges all over your paper when you try to use them. This was very disappointing. This is the first KLUTZ activity book that I have ever been disappointed with. 3Book ideas are great, dough not so muchI bought this for my 8 year old daughter for Christmas. She saw the same thing in the Scholastic school catalog at a higher price so I ordered from Amazon. She loved the ideas in the book but after an hour of working with the dough she gave up trying to make anything and has not touched it since. The dough was hard and would not soften no matter how much she worked with it. I had the same issues when I tried. She is planning on using the ideas in the book for use with regular clay but she will get no erasers out of it. 2
