Customer Reviews

great for kids who just found their hands & feetWow this is hours of quiet fun for a kid who has discovered their hands or feet. After this, the bugs heads get chewed mercilessly. These are so cute to see on a kid!The only thing I would wish for is that the wrist bands would be longer so they fit for a longer period of time. They are about 6" long but because of the velcro you only get about 5" circumference around the wrist. That sounds huge but you would be surprised what a tiny wrist that is!also the rattle does not rattle much, I think you might get arrested for shaking your kid's wrist hard enough to get a rattling sound out of these. Don't get them for the rattle, get them for the cute little faces and bright colors that will attract a baby from the time the visual cortex starts to develop through the time that hands and feet get discovered. 5Very cute rattles! Toy measurements in review:We have had ours for several months now (bought when she was 3 mths, she is now 7 mths.). Our baby still plays with them even though I don't put the rattles on her anymore. She loved kicking off the socks. Which was fun to watch. It's all great exercise for baby. I have even used one of the wrist rattles in her car seat. I attached it to the strap so that she had something to play with because she isn't able to really keep a good grip on toys, yet. The socks are really great for her because they have more material for her little hands to grip. ***Here are the toys measurements (taken with seamstress tape): Wrist Rattles: 5 and 5/8 inches, Sock Rattles: 6 inches.*** These toys have machine washed well in a delicate cycle and air dry. These rattles are adorable and definitely worth buying. They would make a great baby shower/welcome baby gift. 5Great Idea, But Needs Improvements~BACKGROUND~I purchased these for my 2 month old son to use in aiding his motor skill development.~PROS~- Cute and colorful eye catching designs.- Wrist rattles can be used for more than just the wrist - they can be attached to carriers, playpads, etc.~CONS~- Foot rattles are hard to put on initially and then remain stretched out and too big.- Foot rattles are not designed like a sock with a curve to them. The are merely tubes of fabric. Perhaps this contributes to why they do not stay on very well?- Foot rattles keep coming off. There is minimal elasticity in the socks and they keep sliding down. Even over socks they just keep sliding down. When my son starts moving his feet around the rattles are hanging off or just come off altogether.- Rattles are a bit too quiet.- The wrist rattle cuffs are a bit on the small side.- The foot rattles are a bit on the large side.~CONCLUSION~I think the it is a great concept, but definitely could be executed better.Unfortunately, my son does not really pay attention to any of rattles. This is strange because he loved looking at and touching similar looking toys. But he does enjoy chewing on the wrist rattles.I would not recommend these and would recommend spending your ~$20 on something else. 2LOVE THIS PRODUCT!!! Disappointed in PresentationThe product was everything that I knew it would be I brought it for my two month old grandson who has discovered his feet and loves to kick so I knew this would be great to help him with his first developmental skills, and yes he loves the bright colors and he tries to reach for the bee and lady bug, he is very stimulated by the little bugs and he gives himself lots of excise. However, in the many years that I have shopped at Amazon this is the first time that I have ever received the product that was not the same as the picture and the description didn't say that the design would be different than pictured. I spent a lot of time looking for the right design for my grandson, the one I received was the black and white stripe which I didn't want, and the product was not in its original package it was in a zip lock bag so that was very disappointing, but since I had looked for this product for long and was eager for my grandson to have it I just washed it and he loves it. So the product itself is great cannot take that away, but the presentation of this product was very bad and misleading, Disappointed in my go to online store this time. 5Good but not perfect rattlesThese represent the second set of similar rattles that we've bought for our infant twin sons, so I think that I have some good basis for my review and comparisons. In what might be a first, I will provide a list of pros and cons for a set of rattles:Pros:- The socks are a great idea, and a good way to easily get a foot/ankle rattle to stay on a child. It works perfectly for one of our sons.- Very colorful and bright - great for your infant as soon as he/she is old enough to see color- Wrist rattles are relatively adjustable and still work for our almost 5-month-oldsCons:- The rattles are QUIET. For many toys, quiet is good. I'm sure I'll want all toys to be silent very soon. But at this age, the rattle noise is a key stimulus, and these are so quiet that I can barely hear them. Even if you had one infant in a quiet room with no radio, TV, friends, dogs, siblings, etc around, I doubt it would be as loud as I would prefer to help provide stimulus.- The foot rattles are socks - which is also on my list of "pros" for the product. While I have one twin who does great with the socks, the other can't keep socks on his feet for very long AT ALL. Of course, this is not limited to hybrid rattle socks - no socks seem to stay put for long on him! With all of that said, I like these and they're a good value with 4 rattles included. Our first set of rattles were Infantino Wrist Rattles - Lamb and Bear which were louder - just enough - before they met an untimely end. 4Cute and FunI'd been looking for wrist rattles for a while -- it seems like right when my daughter was born, they kind of went out of style or something. But I finally bought these for her when she was about four and a half months old. Maybe a little late, but she has torticollis, so we've been trying to get her to look more to her left, and thought having this wrist rattle might help her. I love that the wrist rattles are completely adjustable, since the velcro (hook and loop closure) is only on one side and sticks to the fabric on the other side. This also means we can put it on her car seat handle or on the diaper bag strap when it's not in use so we don't lose it. The foot finder is cute, but they are like "socks" so it's kind of difficult to put them on her and have them stay on her. Maybe they would be better if they were like the wrist rattles, only bigger to accommodate ankles, too. But the rattles are not obnoxious, and the colors really catch her attention. Another great Lamaze product. 4The noise they make is too quiet, but the kid likes looking at them.My 5 1/2 month old daughter likes looking at these when I hold them up in front of her, but unfortunately they just reallydon't make that much noise, so they don't work in the way they're supposed to: baby moves arm, wrist rattle makes noise, baby notices arm movement led to noise. The baby would have to be thrashing around maniacally in order for these to make enough noise for her to notice them.Other parents have said that they are too small - these fit on my daughter at 5 and 1/2 months, and it looks like they will probably fit for another couple of months, I hope, but I have a long, lean baby. If your baby is on the chunkier side, they may not fit. If you have rudimentary sewing skills, it would be easy to lengthen the straps, but that's an extra step that most won't want to take. Not terrible, but could be better. 3Not worth the money/troubleThe item itself is nice to look at for the kids, but if your baby hasn't discovered his/her hands and feet yet, this is useless. The handcuffs are a bit short and since it is still cold, my baby wears 2 layers and the handcuffs are not long enough to wear over her sleeves. The socks are cute, but keep coming off. All 4 items should not be considered rattles, as they hardly make a sound, and the only way to hear it is by placing them right next to your ear. So, it is very difficult to get the baby's attention with these. 2Didn't fitI bought this in October 2012 & was hoping for the set with black & white stripes, but received the set with green & yellow (first product picture). I got these when my son was 4.5 months old as that seemed to be when he was really noticing his feet & grabbing them & I thought this would be perfect. Unfortunately nothing fit, the wrist bands were too small & the socks went on okay but weren't elastic & just fell off. [However I should note my son's a big boy & weighed around 15 pounds at the time] Only 2 of the 4 bugs rattle & it was a very quiet rattle at that. I ended up returning the set.We also received the Infantino Foot Rattles as a shower gift & these still snuggly fit him (at that time) & stayed on much better, both booties rattle but again it's quiet. I believe the infantino ones are only sized up to 3 months but they are a nice stretchy material. Walmart also has Garanimal ones that look nice {& a cheaper price point!} but we never tried them. 2Cute in conceptI think that these are cute toys even though my son isn't too into them (yet?) He is 3.5 months old and he has found his hands and feet and likes toys but so far he's not too keen on these. The sock ones are far too big for his little feet and he is good at kicking them off so they become useless quick. The wrist ones fit him but he doesn't really care about them yet. I plan to keep trying and maybe he will like them more or maybe we'll give them to a baby who does. It appears from reading the reviews that it's often dependent on the baby. My son so far appears to like toys that aren't attached to him more than those that are. But they are a cute idea and maybe he will get used to them. His favorite toy right now are his hands and his blanket so go figure. 4
