    Not a Good PurchaseI was looking forward to this set. I have one who just got into magnets and I wanted to let her experiment and have fun. When I got this set, I was more disappointed than happy.First of all, this set has tons of pieces to them. While I liked this idea, many of them were washers and nuts. I have tons of those already and wanted to offer her a selection of things most people do not have.I was also not so fond of the strenght. These magnets are weak. They do not hold together well and when she goes to experiemnt, finding what workd and what does not, will not give her accurate results.The quality is not all there. Some of the plastic magnets had jagged edges.Overall, I am not the least bit thrilled with this set. It did not teach much. 1I love them. trying to find a gift for my ...I love them. trying to find a gift for my 4 yr. old nephew is always very challenging, especially because I like to give some kind of educational, but also FUN gift. When I told my nephues mom about them, she got excited and said..."oh, I know he will love that. He LOVES science, and really has only played with the magnets on the refridgerator, but he really doesn't know what or how a magnet really is. I'm excited! 5What U see = what U getThe experiment cards are helpful for making full use of this magnet set. My 5 year old son enjoyed replicating what he saw on the cards. He learned a nice bit about magnets in the process, too. 4Magnet boatMy 6 year old sons review... I love how much fun it is because when they put a magnet on the boat and you stir it around it makes the boat move. 5Great for first exposure to magnetsThis was a great find. He has enjoyed it. We've had it over a month and it's all still working well. My 4 stars are simply because, yes the plastic and magnets are cheap, but it still works and is worth it for the first exposure to a magnet set. My kid is 6 and has really liked. 4Bought this for my grandson and another for one of ...Bought this for my grandson and another for one of his friends. He's been playing with it for the past 10 months and it's still fascinating to him. I don't know if the other kid is still using his. There's little cards included with suggested activities. I gave them both a box of paperclips because they weren't included. 5Great Introductory Magnet Set!This makes a great starter set for introducing kids to magnets! It has a lot of fun pieces to do lots of different experiments. It also comes with 14 experiment cards that give you a lot of fun ideas and really help bring the fun of magnets to life. One experiment my 3.5 year old loves to play is rubber-banding the magnet bar to the top of his Tonka car and "pushing" it along the table using another magnet. He gets to see it move without touching it while making a game out of it with his cars. The set also comes with some foam pieces to make boats you can push through the water, in a bath or in a bowl. There are a bunch of washers and nuts you can stack or hang off of the wand and form some neat structures. My kids love to use the magnet balls too. We play a game of roll and catch with them using the wand. A compass comes with the set, but it's a little small and made fairly cheap to get much use out of. We have a larger compass and we use that instead. The variety of the pieces and experiment cards make this set a great value and fun experience for kids! 5Great product but Poor shipping methodThis is a great set if you are looking for a magnet experiment kit. This is actually the 3rd one I bought. However, I purchased this as a gift and they shipped it by putting a label directly on the magnet box. Considering this was a gift, I am embarrassed to present it. Furthermore, the box was dented and opened up during shipping. Very disappointed. Use a shipping box next time please and save others the disappointment. 3Interesting & FunNice kit for young peoples initial interest in magnetics. My 5 year old really enjoys project cards that come with set. Little pieces definitely not to be accessible to babies or small ones that might put them in their mouth. Would be a great classroom item. 5Mom approved fro my grandsI run all holiday gifts by my DIL (to see if they already have it, she doesn't want it, etc.). These were happily approved and my 4-yo granddaughter and her 2-yo brother have fun with these while my son sneaks in some science education when they're playing. I'm pushing STEM at them and it was great that their mom was positive about my choice. Highly recommended. (Also recommended: parents playing with their kids and sneaking in STEM). 5
