Customer Reviews

Fun desk decorations, although the numbers are not placed how I'm used to.These dice don't follow standard number placement. In standard die, the sum of opposite sides should be the total number of sides +1. For instance, in a 6-sided die (aka, a "d6") 1 is opposite 6, 2 is opposite 5, etc. The sum of opposing sides in a d6 will always be 7. The same goes for d10's, d12's and d20's. Opposite 20 should be 1.This, of course, doesn't change any probability of rolling any numbers, but as a seasoned D&D player the standard dice have become extremely familiar to me and placement of the numbers in these feels foreign. Every long-time D&D player knows the pain of the d20 rolling slowly from 20 to 2, but with this one, 20 is adjacent to 19, 12 and 10.For most, this is a non-issue. The dice are fun, a good size, soft enough to throw at your friends and the placement of the numbers has no effect on the probability of the rolling values (though the creases in the foam might); But a warning to D&D players: if you think your DM will have an issue with non-standard number placement (19 is adjacent to 20!), these won't be playable for you. 4Good, soft, polyhedral dice for little ones - babies will try to eat them!Perfect for my son. We roll these back and forth for play, and when he's older, we can use them to practice numbers.Be advised that you shouldn't let babies play with these unsupervised. I got these for my son for his first birthday and the first thing he tried to do was take a bite out of the d12.The white numbers on the yellow d8 are also a little hard to see (unlike in this picture). If anyone's interested, the d20 is a "spin-down" (all the numbers in sequence touch each other, so 1 is connected to 2, which is connected to 3, etc.). 5Last Miniute Geek Gift Saves the Day!These giant foam dice are perfect for tabletop RPG players IF:1. You have an expensive of easily scratched table.2. You're aging and your eyesight isn't as great as it used to be.3. Your a DM and you suspect a player who sits at the other end of the table isn't as honest about their rolls as they claim. The comedic value isn't bad either. The one thing I wonder is, what's with the under 3 child choke warning? Seriously, no toddler is going to be able to get one of these things into their mouth. 5These are great for herMy toddler saw us playing with our role-playing dice and desperately wanted a set of her own. These are great for her. They're big, squishy and bright. The numbers on the d8 are a bit hard to read, but that's not really a big deal. She can throw them around, and I have no fear of her hurting herself or breaking something 5Has no defense against my child's teeth. For an adult or responsible child, these would make a great novelty toy.I stupidly purchased this as a gift for my then 1.5 year old son. He loved playing with them... and he loved eating them.I caught him just after he took a bite out of the tip of the 3 sided die, then saw he had done the same to the 8 sided die...The foam is pretty solid, but not solid enough to prevent that, so up on the shelf it goes for a year or two.Still, a good, sturdy product, with bright coloring and easy-to-read numbers. 5As advertisedThese are exactly as advertised and all of the images I see from other customers are accurate. They are huge foam dice. It makes me wonder if I can find someone who makes foam dice that are much larger. As in Basketball sized dice. Gaming would take on a whole new level of activity at that point. 5I Am Happy and a Little DisappointedThis are satisfactory is size, squish-to-bounce ratio, and shape. The number-paint is flaking off a few of the dice, the d8 is so brightly yellow that it is almost-impossible to read the numbers, and many of them do not adhere to the standard number-facing spread. The d20 was especially disappointing in that it is modeled after a MtG spin-down sequence, rather than the standard 1-opposite-20 sequence.I'm happy to have them, but I wish they were a little better. 4Great product, BUT....I bought these to introduce my kids to role-playing games and generally happy with the product. They're big and soft so my smaller kids can't joke on them or put each others eyes out if they throw them. Numbered awkwardly if you're use to most D20 system dice, but that doesn't bother me really. The major issue is that they don't include a d6. I didn't notice that when I placed the order so not faulting them for me overlooking something, but it seriously needs to be added to this set. 5Bought these for my daughter's birthday.I'm a dad. My daugter turned two last Tuesday. She got this set of dice for her second birthday. Why? Because Daddy is, among other things, a gamer. Mommy and Daddy and all of our friends have dice. Lots of dice. Some of my dice date from the late 70s. I use those to run old-school D&D games. I have some twenty-sided d10s from my old FASA Trek boxes that are nearly round. Kaylee has had a lot of dice to play with since she started crawling and walking - and that's the problem.Daddy doesn't want to lose his dice. Uncle Trenton does not want to make a run to the corner store for drinks only to return and find out Mommy has let Kaylee out of her sight for a few moments and now all of Uncle Trenton's dice save a lonely pair of D6s are now missing in action... (These dice were later found inside the air conditioner closet, along with some action figures and a USB key or two...)Kaylee needed her own dice, and these were the best choice. I love them. Too big to eat, too soft to hurt. Hell, it's the only D4 that I've ever had in my house that wasn't a plasic numbered caltrop when dropped on the floor. She loved her dice so much she took the D20 with her to daycare the next day. What is the THAC0 of a toddler, anyway? Why four stars and not five? Well, it has to do with the suspicious lack of a D6. This set has a D4, D8, D10, D12 and D20. No D6. I had to rectify this by buying Kaylee a set of foam D6s - 12 of them. Now she can play toddler Shadowrun or toddler Star Wars D6 and be set for dice, as well. She could also invite over 5 more toddlers and have a Traveller campaign. All in all, I'm glad I got these for my little warrior princess. Some of my adult players are enamored of them and want to buy a set, too! 4d20, d12, d10, and d4 are great.I didn't even notice there's no 6-sided die; I'm holding that against the product though -0.5 starsMinus 0.5 stars for the 8-sided die's numbers being absolutely invisible in normal daylight, nothing at all like shown in the picture. They may as well have been painted on in yellow too.The foam they are made of is EXTREMELY hard on the d10 and d4. (There is no d6.) The d20 is nice and soft; the d12 and d8 are moderately soft. -1 star. All of the numbers on (at least) the d20 are in the wrong places. I'm docking this product a star for that and another star for all the people I'm going to have to hear about it from in the future when they look at this thing. The d20, d12, d10, and d4 are fantastic. 1 stars. 1
