    Requires adult help depending on child s puzzle abilitiesMy almost four year old loves puzzles! She s been very interested in where she lives when looking at maps/globes, so I bought this as a way for her to learn even more about our states and where different family members live. She s fully capable of putting the more traditional puzzle pieces (such as the boarder) together by herself but the inside pieces require a knowledge of our country s geography to put together properly. The more we do this puzzle the more she remembers in regards to the states and their locations. 5What a great learning toolThis puzzle was missing pieces and doubled up on other states. What a great learning tool...only picking one star since I am forced to pick one. 1Very nice, fun & interesting!Nice quality, pieces fit well together, nicely colored states. Each state also has a little cartoon of what it's known for - like Old Faithful between Wyoming and Montana. My daughter is interested in who lives where. Because so many states in the west are almost square, it's easier to leave them until last because they have nothing to interlock with to make them stay put. I wonder if playing with this on a large piece of felt might keep pieces from moving. The only things I would change is a plainer, easier to read font, like Arial; and a paper insert with the whole map as it should be. There is one on the box, but words cover part of it. All in all, very nice and interesting! 4Not great, not horribleWhile the pieces fit extremely weird, its still doing its intended job of giving us something to do, and also helping my daughter learn the states. The illustrations were a good addition and has helped peek her curiosity in some of the states, while also helping her remember more of the states along with the colors and shapes. Not great, not horrible. 3Amazing Teaching ToolMy two and a half year old daughter is into puzzles now so I decided to toss in a little geography while we were at it by getting this for her to do. Each puzzle piece within the lower 48 portion of the picture is shaped like the individual states, save for some of the small ones in the Northeast, which are bunched together. I regularly do this with her and now she knows where most of the states are along with their shapes and this is her favorite puzzle to do because of the added challenge. Aunts, uncles and grandparents are all wowed by how well she can do this puzzle and identify the states' locations (sometimes better than they can), and it's fundamentally the same skills as just doing a regular jigsaw. Amazing teaching product that is fun for the kids. 5One StarThis puzzle came with 2 double pieces and many missing ones. 1Waste of moneyWaste of money! Cheaply made, pieces bend easily and many were already separating from the thin cardboard backing when we opened it! Will not buy again from Master Pieces Puzzle Co. I am so disappointed I spent almost $8 on this. My two children are bummed because they were looking forward to putting it together. 1Missing piecesThis puzzle arrived with pieces bent, one or two big pieces missing, and an extra duplicated state piece. It is difficult to assemble since most of the pieces do not interlock so it shifts everytime you touch it. It would also be nice to have a picture included of the finished puzzle (the picture on the box has Texas pulled out and covering some of the other states) but otherwise it could be a hood puzzle. My 5 year old granddaughter assembled most of it with a little help. 1Fun and educationalThis is a great map puzzle for children. It s just like the one we remeber as having as kids, and it s fun to work with grandchildren to put it together. It also has illustrations on each state, so you can talk a bit about what each state is known for and expand on it. It is a cardboard puzzle, so not likely to last forever. 5Fun Puzzle Used to Identify States we will have to visitWe purchased this puzzle so that we could identify all of the states we have visited and see where we needed to go. We glued the border to a mat board and then glued on the individual states that we have been to. The only problem was the little states back East were not individual pieces so I made copies of the puzzle pieces and glued the states that we had been to on the board. We did frame it and have it displayed in our family room. 5
