    Description

    • EXCAVATE: Using the tools included in this kit, chip, dig and brush away the plaster block until you discover all 20 skeleton pieces.
    • PREPARE: Once all pieces have been excavated rinse the pieces in water and follow the step by step instructions to assemble your dinosaur.
    • ASSEMBLE: The bones snap together and can be repeatedly reassembled.
    • DISPLAY: Once assembled, your skeleton will be an accurate model of a Triceratops measuring 12" long!
    • INCLUDES: fossil block, hammer, flat chisel, point chisel, brush, sponge and instructions. (Ages 8 and up)

    Great for a very wide range of ages.Very satisfying for my young 9 and 12 year olds. They did move to some heavier duty tools eventually, using our own hammer and chisel to finish the job, probably in less than 30 minutes between the two of them. I would say even a 2 or 3 year old would enjoy this, although they might need some help, perhaps making the rocks wet to soften them up first. Messy--best as an outdoor activity. As a parent I've grown to appreciate these sort of do it once, enjoy it, and be done with it kind of gifts that add minimal clutter to my life. The rocks and fossils were very interesting to the kids and they did identify and saved them. 5This was fun but I really thought it would take months to ...I bought this for my four year old grandson though it states for ages 8 and up. I wanted something we could do together. He loves dinosaurs. This was fun but I really thought it would take months to accomplish. He actually figured out how to get it done much quicker. (I won't tell though). We had a blast and the end result was a really good quality skeleton.His mom put it on a shelf in the living room but he does play with it.I'm going to get him the Triceratops for his birthday. I can't wait to help him with that one too! 5Messy fun for all agesBought for my ASD son. He enjoys it! If you don't let it soak the entire 5 minutes, they can chisel it out longer, if you soak it the whole time it's quick and easy to get to the dino. Each egg comes with a new chisel, handy, as it's a mess! This is like clay, we put down a piece of cardboard and throw it away each time, much easier to clean! Fun little activity! 4Dino lovers dreamMy 3 yr old loves digging and loves dinosaurs so this was excellent!Soak it then dig in!I have bought other sets where they had to dig a larger area and my son lost interest after a few minutes of digging and finding nothing- so with this they dig and after a few they get to a piece and it just gets him more excited to find out which dino is in there.I ll buy this again when we re finsihed with this box as there s 12 eggs in here 5Such a Blast to Do, Educational and EngagingI bought this for my 6 year old who loves dinosaurs and we had a blast chiseling the eggs and finding our dinosaurs! The kit comes with 12 hard clay eggs that you have to soak for about 5 minutes in a cup of water to soften the clay. Each egg is individually wrapped and comes with it's own directions and chisel, so if you are using this for a class or birthday party, everyone has their own materials to use. I also love that each egg has a different dinosaur in it so there are no duplicates within the kit and the element of surprise is so much fun!Once you have soaked the egg, use the chisel to chip apart and scoop the clay. After a few minutes, you get a small dinosaur about an inch or two tall. She likes to play with hers in the tub. These are kind of expensive, but they are a lot of fun and educational because the kit comes with a pamphlet that tells facts about each dinosaur and you can also practice classifying them by plant or meat eater, two legged or four legged, etc. There is so much to do with these! There are other kits as well such as sea life and wild animals that I plan to purchase. 5This is really cool for kids but it does make a messThis is really cool for kids but it does make a mess. A tip. The bones are almost to the bottom of the mold I cannot tell you how many times we thought we saw something and it wasn't bones. Once you put the dinosaur together, we had to glue them together. They really didn't snap into place too well. I would buy again because it was fun. Messy but fun. 4Educational and funFast delivery. Excellent product/quality. Appropriate for my 9 year old grandson but too advanced for the 5 year old. Although the "plaster" was difficult to dig at first without bending the chisel provided with the kit, a little moisture softened it enough that the dig could proceed. Some of the skeleton pieces did not snap securely together and had to be super-glued. End result -- one very proud 9 year old who wants the next kit to add to his collection. Success. 4This kit is AWESOME. I got this for my six year old ...This kit is AWESOME. I got this for my six year old grandson, who spent three days with us when his parents were on a business trip. When I first opened it for him I thought "this is going to take us two weeks to complete." However, as he used the tools the plaster started coming out in large pieces. He was SO excited when he discovered the first dinosaur bone. He couldn't wait to get back to it the next day. One large piece of plaster came out with a realistic fossil print. I would recommend this if you're looking for a fun project to complete with your child or grandchild.
