    Buyer BewareLet me get right to the point. These Slingshots are a great toy. My son and his friends have been playing for hours with the Foam Strike Pocket Shot. That's the good news. The Buyer Beware is directed at the Hog Wild Refill Balls that Amazon ties to this toy as replacements or extras for this toy. Nnnnnh! Don't fall for it as these balls DO NOT FIT this slingshot. They are to small. Of course I found this out the hard way this Christmas Morning. Have Fun. 5Keeps A Nine-Year Old EntertainedMy son wanted a slingshot for Christmas, but I bought this for him instead. He's actually happy with this substitute. A foam ball is projectiled, and the end result is the same.PROS:1) Lightweight2) foam ball is not painful if it accidentally hits you; I was an unintended target a few times3) Ball goes pretty far when launchedCONS:1) The elastic strings are a little too taut. My son is nine, so he has to really pull the hammer (the thing that hits the foam ball) in order to get theball to shoot farther. His hand muscles aren't quite that developed.Otherwise, he is satisfied with the toy, and he hasn't mentioned about a slingshot again. 4Great cat entertainment for the dollara super cat toy for our cat, he chases the balls and gets exercise. the ball are a good size, too big to inhale. He runs after each ball like a dog, then the cat comes out. He will not return the ball. He runs back for us to send another off. We bought two so we could send him back and forth for a work out. Can't beat it for the price. ...and it has not hurt anything yet. 5Too difficult for a 5 year oldRecently I bought this for my son and overall it seems to be a decently made toy slingshot. My problem is really with the product description on Amazon. It clearly states that it is designed for "ages 5 and up", but when you receive the actual slingshot it says "for ages 8 and up" in tiny letters at the top. This may explain why my 5 year (who is big and strong for his age) is having difficulty pulling back the elastic resistance band attached to the hammer with one hand and holding it steady with the other. This is simply too hard for a 5 year old. But he loves the toy and doesn't want to send it back, so I guess we're stuck with it until he gets a bit older.Also as a side note- in the "frequently bought together" section of the page is advertised "Hog Wild Orange Refill Balls". One would think that these balls would fit the slingshot but... alas they do not. They are too small and just fall through. I suppose it was my mistake to assume they would work - just want to save others from making the same mistake. 2Fun safe toy for even little kids.Got it for my kindergarten aged kids a few months ago. This is a fun toy. Safe also. Haven't broken anything in the house with this yet. No kids have been hurt either. It's fun for me also. Shoots pretty far. Perhaps 30~35 feet. I think you can achieve 40 feet with some wind behind your back.Not sure if it's the holiday season or the recent Amazon fee hikes for the independent sellers, but I've noticed that the price has risen quite a bit since I bought this for my kids. So, this is probably a good value for under ten bucks.Basically, a fun and safe toy for kids. Might want to search other sites for better value though. 5Solid construction, shoots great. Perfect for young boys who want a "shooting" toy but aren't ready for a "gun".Bought this for my 8 year old son for Christmas. It is constructed very well. Easy to use. It shoots the ball surprisingly far for its size. We have every nerf gun type known to man in our house and this little pocket shooter holds its own in terms of how well it shoots and fun it is to use. Definitely recommend this as a cute little add on gift to a birthday present or a stocking stuffer for a young boy. This would be great for boys who are fairly young b/c it is so simple to use. Plus this makes a fun "shooting" type toy that isn't a gun. 5Toy is lots of funThe FoamStrike slingshots are lots of fun - my 8 and 5 year old grandsons love them. Do NOT buy the Hog Wild replacement balls that Amazon advertises with the slingshot - they do not fit. They are smaller than the balls that come with the slingshot and will fall out of the slingshot holder. 4Works well, fun to shoot, loads slowlyEvery Christmas, I try to get something we can hit each with and tear around the living room during the lull between the stockings and gifts. This was a new twist on the dart guns, ping pong ball guns, and squishy balls that looked fun. It is.It served its purpose better than most years as they are safe, fun and the perfect level of inaccurate to keep battles interesting, BUT hasn't been used since the 26th. You have to be willing to stalk your opponent, not just rapid fire. The balls are hard to lose, durable, and haven't broken anything yet, but spares are too expensive to buy an arsenal. With that, they were a bit pricey for one-time-use IMO. 3This slingshot is so easy to use that my five year old loves itThis slingshot is so easy to use that my five year old loves it. He's a very careful kid and the nerf-type balls means it's safe to use in the house. I mostly really love how easy it is for him to shoot it. He can load the ball into the slot and then easily pull back the sling to fire. There's no having to hold the ammo in place and make sure it's all lined up which is frustrating for little hands. While the age on the package says it's for much older kids, I can see kids as young as 3 or 4 having fun with this. 5Sling ShotI purchased this sling shot for 10 year & 11 year boys. They both love them & they are a lot of fun. The only complaint I have is that it states that the Hog Wild balls are frequently purchased with this sling shot & that may be true, but don't bother - they do NOT fit. They are way too small & are not usable with this sling shot. 4
