    3 of 3 bought all defectiveOrdered a couple of these this year for Christmas: one as a gift for our youngest and one as a gift for my goddaughter. Neither one worked at all. Ordered a replacement and that one was broken too. Clearly the manufacturer is not performing their due diligence with inspection and frankly its a lot of plastic to throw away so we are pretty disappointed. Clearly a knock off of the original and not up to the bare minimum standards expected from this kind of junk. Buy a book instead and save yourself the headache. 1Wonderful Visuals and Sounds for Children with this toyWhen I first received this toy, I noticed that the manufacturer's box packaging was a bit flimsy. I wondered if the toy would hold up well. It has and I highly recommend the toy for kids. For a toddler, we keep this toy put up on a shelf and bring it down with supervision during its use. The reason is that our toddler would try to take it apart. The penguins have never missed a beat going up the steps and sliding down again. It works perfectly. We place it on the table sometimes during feedings and it is a great focus point for our child. 5Hah! Got this for myself and I love it.Thought I'd treat myself to a little reward, and got this oldie goldie. I can watch those little penguins for hours.Only one complaint, and that is the really grating sound effects that are now accompanying the penguinos on their journey. I covered up the speaker hole with duct tape, which lessens the jarring and annoying sounds, but I wish there was an off switch for just the sound, because it's SUPER ANNOYING!!! So minus 1 star for ruining the otherwise-bliss. :) 4Gave this to my good friend for his birthdayGave this to my good friend for his birthday. He absolutely loves penguins. I am now thinking of buying him a different penguin slide each year! The only weird thing is that online it says it takes AA batteries but under the legal disclaimer it also says it takes D batteries. That is not true so don t waste your money! Great product though! Thank you! 5Doesn t workMy son loves this!!!! We ordered the first one and it wasn t working properly the day we opened it. The second one arrives and after 3 days completely stopped working.My 3 son was heart broken when it stopped working.When he first saw this toy was when he was doing a hearing exam. He loved it while we waiting to do the test. So he was excited to have one at home.But it wasn t worth the money and I felt bad he had TWO faulty toys. 1The item is good but unfortunately looks as if it was used or ...Ordered it yesterday and as usual got it on time. The item is good but unfortunately looks as if it was used or repacked. The bottom of it had sticky residue like you get when a sticker is removed and dust sticks onto it. A few of the screw holes look rusted as well. Maybe the one I got was re-furbished or something. Unfortunately I saw all this after my daughter played with it for a few hours, so won't bother returning. The piece works well though and my daughter is very excited with "Penguins goings upstairs". Will post pictures of these later.Stopped working on day 2...New set of batteries powered on for less than 5 minutes and stopped again. After a few hours, started working again for a few minutes..Something wrong with the motor - the stairs moving real slow with brand new batteries. 1Awesome!!Found this toy in a local mall 5 or 6 years ago and set it out as part of our holiday decorations..grands kids have always loved it.. Before the season we were surprised when our 3 year old kept asking for the penguins and was sad when the game couldn't be found. How she even remembered playing with it was amazing lol..So glad to have found it here :-) The kids have been entertained for hours through the years. There are small parts, rollers specifically, and though it only happened once one fell, or was knocked off, from the bottom of one of the little guys, so if you have little ones that might pop things into their mouths I suggest supervised play. As usual the old toy was found so expect this will continue to be a hit around here during the holidays. 5I honestly thought this thing would die a horrible death in six months or less..We bought this toy for our son for his second birthday. He's now four years old and I was going through his playroom getting things out he no longer plays with and make room for new toys. I then came across this toy and realized it deserved an awesome review after two years of use.. YES IT IS VERY ANNOYING to listen to. THE thing NEVER shuts up! but my kid flipping LOVES this damn toy. NOT only that but we haven't taken very good care of it and the thing still looks new! The slides do pop out if you pick it up by the slides.. as my toddler did often. but they are easy to slide back in place. BTW It made my son extremely nervous that there was a chance this toy was going up in the attic so he hoarded it just to make sure I wouldn't try to sneak it away. That is how much he loves this toy! I almost feel bad wanting it to die so I don't have to hear the damn squeaking anymore haha. 5Not all that operational The one of have simply doesn t work well. Around the third or fourth step the penguins get stuck or fall backward creating a traffic jam. I then have to pick up the penguins and set them on the slide. See my video. I would try a different brand. Who knows, maybe I just have a faulty one... 1The plastic roller coaster track is pretty durable considering my son has taken it apart and ...Purchased for 15-month old. Kept him mesmerized for hours. Occasionally a penguin stops on the track - but the next one coming along - gets it moving again. Is that a bad thing? The only sound is the motor of the ladder which I haven't found annoying. I kinda like how the penguins glide on their back. My original one X-number of years ago didn't do that. Pretty simply toy and very entertaining. Cost is reasonable. I originally bought for $13 back in Sept. Just looked today and it's $17. Inflation by about 25%? That's probably the most annoying thing - as I was looking to buy a 2nd one for a friend's kid. 4
