    I like everything about it except the extruderI got this as a starter kit for my two year old son, who LOVES Play-Doh. I like everything about it except the extruder. Only the ruler thing with shapes fits in the extruder tube, the orange things don't at all. So I'm not sure what the purpose is to have those stupid orange things in this kit it they don't work with the extruder. All the other accessories are great for my son, he enjoys playing with them. 3Playdoh & accessoriesWho doesn't love playdoh? You can't ever go wrong with a playdoh purchase. The scissors & knife & roller are great (one reviewer mentioned that the handles aren't something you keep stationary, you have to move them as well...true & annoying, but my child doesn't know the difference). The cookie cutters are great. Oddly enough, this should really come with instructions (as I've seen others point out). I finally figured out the ruler with shapes in it actually slides over the red tube. The 4 orange pieces are completely useless. I threw them away. The only way to get the playdoh through the small holes is to push it through with your thumbs, and it barely works & makes a big mess in your fingernails. You definitely can't make spaghetti or anything with them. Like I said, they're useless. I guess I should have purchased a different kit, but this one does the job for the cost. So I had 4 useless pieces, oh well, the rest is great fun for my 3 yr old. =) I would recommend this if you're looking to start a small playdoh kit. 4Good set for the priceThe handles of the rolling pin are attached and do not roll separately like a real rolling pin. That was my only disappointment with this set, besides that it is great and definitely can't beat the price. I was looking for something relatively cheep but with different parts for my 3-year old to experience different ways to manipulate the play-doh. Her favorite part is probably the scissors. The one thing I think is weird is that the push-in extruder only fits the yellow ruler shape-plate on the end. The 4 small orange 'cap' looking tools don't fit on anything, so it's hard to use them. I had originally thought they would fit on the end of the extruder, but apparently not. 4Great little starter set for my 2.5 year old. He enjoys it and loves making carsGreat little set for my 2.5 year old. Was trying to find one with a car cutter and this has it and it works very well. The scissors work well and the knife. Very happy with this - it's just what we needed. One thing we haven't figured out is there's four little pieces that seem like they should attach to the tube with the part that pushes through the middle but we haven't been able to work out how that actually attaches? Any ideas?I would recommend this for a beginner set for sure - great to have the rolling pin too! 5A good variety but some pieces are a wasteI honestly don't know if I would recommend this or buy it again. I do like it but I'm not that impressed. I would tell you to buy it but don't have very high expectations. My two year old son likes it and the tools do help us make play-doh time more fun. Before buying this, he liked play-doh but couldn't do much so this has aided in his play. My issue is that some of the pieces are useless- the roller is too hard to use and the shape maker is really annoying. The cookie cutter shapes are great he likes those a lot. It's fine but could be improved. 4Great starter.When my grandson visits he always wants to play with this (he's 2). It's a great starter set. He loves the knife, rolling pin, and scissors especially. It's great that it also includes playdoh. We still have yet to figure out a couple pieces of the set, but my grandson really doesn't care about the "proper" use. He just has fun, which is really what it's all about. 5Good ol' Play Doh Fun!I bought this with a box of 10 or 12 mini tubs of colors and it was a great pairing. The 2 tubs that come with it are fine too but it was good for us and our rainy days on our vacation to the beach to have the other fun colors too. The little "cookie cutter" shapes were the biggest hit. My 4-year-old really liked making the 4 shapes in many different colors. He used the scissors to cut up his creations! I tried using the very human anatomy-looking plunger to make the shapes and that works fine. But there is no way I could figure out to use the spaghetti type shapers. I ended up pushing some thru with my fingers to make some long strings. So that part of the toy (the 4 orange button type things... also oddly looking like human anatomy!) gets one star. Especially since it does not explain anywhere on the container how to use those. I was probably not understanding how to use them. If they could attach to the plunger somehow they would work just great! You can make all kinds of shapes, strings, dots, etc, etc! It is a really nice set for being creative without the toy trying to tell you what to do. Like some of the food-themed sets would do.Overall a high rating for Play Doh fun-ness! 5but if your kids are like my son - he'll ditch those lovely tools and ...My son loves the pink and blue flavors. Thank goodness it's non-toxic. There are a bunch of accessories that accompany the playdoh to help make shapes, but if your kids are like my son - he'll ditch those lovely tools and start eating. If your kid doesn't care for the tools, just buy the doh, and skip all the bells and whistles. 4
