    I wouldn t recommend or buy this product againI wasn t happy with a few things.1. It arrived late & the reason described was weather or a natural disaster this was shipped from only a few hours away from me.....there has been nothing on the radar nor any kind of weather that should have stopped it from getting here on time.2. It s missing pieces like tweezers and a net! Not to mention it is poorly made. It was ordered for my 3 year old beige and she s happy with it, but it s not worth the money. I would just go to the dollar store next time.3. Everything looked dirty and it doesn t even match the set that I purchased. 2A hit with kids and adults alike!!I bought this set for my two year old daughter and my three year old niece as a present for their very first camping trip. I was not very sure about how it would turn out, but hoped that it would provide some fun to these bug-loving toddlers. The sets were an unprecedented hit, not just with the kids, but with all the adults. We caught four bugs within an hour (a fly, a bee, a dragonfly and a caterpillar). 6 adults and 2 kids took excited turns to examine the bugs through the magnifying glass and marveling at the anatomical details of the specimens. :) My niece has been taking this set out these past couple of mornings to search for bugs.For the price I paid for these sets, they performed way beyond my expectations. Adventure Planet Bug Catcher Box Set will now be in my list of 'presents for little children'. 5No guarantee what you will get.My friend ordered this for my son's birthday. It was such a hit that a jealous sibling intentionally broke an item from it a few days later after constant outdoor play. I was so pleased with the kit and its quality that I asked my friend for purchase information. She shared with me the link from her Amazon order history and I ordered directly from that link. What arrived at my house is NOT the same. It is SIMILAR, but not the same. Instead of an actual packaged set in a pretty display box like the first set, this is a collection of dollar store junk toys in cellophane bags and a plain, beaten up white box. The items are like poor impersonations of the original toys- they are poorly made, obviously cheaper, and do not include all of the pieces shown in the picture. If this had arrived with my friend's order she would have been too ashamed to gift it. I have never been so disappointed in a purchase from Amazon. Buyer beware for this item, as it is a game of chance what will arrive. 1Cheap items but they will be good for my 3 & 5 year old nephewCheap items but they will be good for my 3 & 5 year old nephew. Not sure how well the compass will fit but it's cute.One thing I was not happy with is that the colors were different than pictured. The net is pink and purple and the strand for the bug box is pink. The gifts are for my 2 nephews. I'm sure they won't mind but I thought it would be more gender neutral. Also came in a plain white box so I will probably re wrap. 3Giant insect attack!!!!Fact is my wife found this for our adopted gran-girl who is into bug/small reptile skeleton collecting and mermaids and she went into a bug-catching frenzy. She even shared some of the "tools" with her younger brother. They had a ball and all of the adults were jealous my wife found it and we didn't because it couldn't have made a bigger hit if a real mermaid or dinosaur had showed up. Okay, maybe a bit of a difference but, this is a GREAT gift and at such a cheap cost. The parts got used so much that they only lasted about two months but, for that price...well worth it! 5Half of the pieces are trashThis set came in a plain white box. I opened and put the pieces in an Easter basket. My child had no clue what anything was, pictures on product boxes are so helpful! The "watch", compass, and tweezers I just put right in the trash. They are so cheaply made they are unusable. The bug catcher box is a big hit. It is well made and My daughter happily catches worms and carries them around in this for an afternoon. We just had an angry bumblebee in it for observation. It has a nice fitting lid with ventilation and a good magnifying glass. I bought this set for under $5 so I'm happy with it. 4Don't buy -Disgusted - bait and switch-Bait and switch! Everyone else on here is talking about a different kit. The one I received is worse than anything you would get at the dollar store- looked dirty and used...and just absolutely horrible. Came in a cheap white box- items in cellophane bags- compass doesn't have watch pieces - and the little tong like things were in a bag that was labelled x pocket knife with a photo of a knife on it! The tweezers wouldn't even pick anything up...I am so disappointed that I have to run out last minute because it was supposed to be a birthday gift- I would be so embarassed to gift this! DO NOT BUY!!!! McDonald's toys look fancy compared to this junk. You've been warned! 1Pure junk...DO NOT buy this product. The box I received is not what is pictured in the listing and it was missing tweezers as well. The material is VERY cheap, like ridiculously cheap. For $11 you'd be better off buying something like this at the dollar store. The quality would most likely be better too. Bought this for my 4 yr old nephew, it might have lasted a day with a 4 yr old before breaking, if that. The net is so wonky and not even attached well, anyone could make one 100X better than this. The bug scissors don't even close right, it's crooked and there are gaps on both sides. Seriously, this was a box of junk. Extremely disappointed, it's definitely going back! Don't waste your time... 1Pretty Cheaply MadeGot this as a replacement due to the fact the dog chewed up the little bubble bug grabber. It was really her favorite part. Anyhow, a lot of flimsy plastic and about a week later found a bag of the grabbers at Hobby Lobby for 4.99. I think it had three in it. But, you really never have enough cheap bug grabbing stuff, so I gave it a two star rating. 2Quite durable and kid-friendlyWe bought many bug catchers from local dollar stores, but they break quite easily. Then we decided to buy this one. And we are quite happy---it is still good after 5-6 months of heavy use. Many spiders, crickets, ladybugs, etc. have been in and out. They are well ventilated so that bugs won't die. We once caught a caterpillar that later turned into a moth. Recently, we caught a cricket that our 6-year-old took to her school to show her friends and the next day, our 4-year-old took to her pre-school and released it there. The cricket was still in good shape (of course we put some fruit pieces and some water), which probably suggests how good this set is. This set has two containers (the big one with the yellow lid and the cylinder-like one to the right of the picture)---that often helps to catch a second bug while one container is being used. Highly recommended. 5
