Customer Reviews

Fly wellYou're likely getting these for children, and should know that they'll have to be adult-assembled if the target age is less than about 9 or so (I'm guessing). The wings and tail need to be inserted thru the styrofoam fuselage and fit snugly. The plane body can be bent pretty easily during this process. Once put together, they do last well in use.We received an assortment of at least four different markings (don't remember exactly) so everyone was happy. 5Fun in the sky with the planebrought this product as a stocking stuffer, grandson of 5 quickly learnt how to put the plane together, said when playing with the plane that it was so much fun. Works great with the propeller and even makes a little buzzing sound, however when it lands after a while it falls of or breaks it still flies but not as well. The foam construction is very durable only suggestion is to maybe include two blades per packet. Great value for the cost and you will have loads of fun with flying them. 5Time for a Reality CheckOK everyone, let's start out with a reality check. Excluding shipping, these planes come in at a price of about 20-25 cents each. The bottom line is, you get what you pay for. If you want a great hobby-type plane for your kids, etc., then be prepared to shell out 4-7 dollars each. That being said, I purchased these for my Cub Scout Den. We were working on flying, aerodynamics, and the four forces involved in flying (thrust/drag, lift/gravity). After the "lesson", I passed out the airplanes to the Scouts, had them assemble the planes, then had a contest to see who could fly furthest. The Scouts LOVED the activity, they actually learned something, and it cost me less than $8.00 (I bought 24 planes) in total. If you want to be critical of these 25 cent planes, then I'm guessing nothing will make you happy. 4Yay for cheap entertainment!Yes they're cheap, they're made out of foam and won't last forever...might not even last a full day but the kids loved them. I was giving my cousin's children all airplane related stuff for Christmas and decided to buy these to throw a few in each package. Even after they opened all their fancy electronics and action figures they ended up outside playing with these for close to an hour. The adults put together the rest of them and we were all throwing them around the house, it created a few hours of fun for everyone...all for under 6 bucks. Worth it. There is a random assortment, I ended up with 4 of the same color and only 1 of another, the others were 2-3 of each. They were easy to put together, the propeller was a little tricky to figure out at first but once we got it on one correctly then the rest were a piece of cake. 5Not that great.Remember the balsa airplanes we used to get for a quarter? They went together easily and flew pretty darn good. Well, these aren't like that at all. My 8 year old grand daughter couldn't put them together without breaking them. I had a hard time myself. They don't glide at all. Most of the time the spiral left or right and crash. We made half the pack and threw the rest away. I gave them two stars because they had a wide variety of airplane types. 2R.I. Toy flying planes.Excellent value, provides hours of fun for children. Safe indoors or out. My Grandson put down his electronic games to play with these for three hours. Adults should put the propeller assembly together though as the pin to hold the propeller is at times a difficult fit. I used my pocket knife to shave the pin down.. for an easier fit. Planes fly well. Great for children.. !! 5this is a great "gift bag" fillerWe gave these planes out as in gift bags at my 6 year old's birthday party (24 kids in his class, so 2 packs worked out perfectly). The kids were excited to get them. The plane flies nearly as well as the old-school balsa-wood gliders, but is much cheaper. However, it is made out of foam, so it is fragile if stepped on, etc. My 6 year old had no problem putting it together himself. One nice feature is that the control surfaces are perforated, so you can make the plane fly spirals, loops, etc, by bending the control surfaces as needed. 4Easy to assemble and fun to flyI got these for my grandsons, age 5 and 7. Other than needing a little help taking apart the little propeller pieces, they could assemble them all by themselves. We put together all 12, and 10 lasted for the entire weekend that I was with them, at least. (I was expecting a life span of 15 mintues!) So, lots of fun and games for little money! 5Nice set of gliders - kids over 9 could assemble without adultI got these for a summer camp I taught where they learned about air movement. This was a fun way for them to apply what they learned. I wanted something inexpensive for each student to have and this fit the bill for that. It's foam and so I didn't expect a top of the line quality airplane. I would have liked a little bit heavier duty foam though as some of the kids bent their wings when trying to insert them and this affected their ability to fly. I found that the kids ages 9 and 10 could assemble this with very little assistance, while the kids younger than 9 needed adult help. These would make great party favors! 4Good thing they didn't cost much...Didn't expect much for the price, but did expect an assortment. The first six I opened are all the same, expecting the last six to also be the same. They are all a rather faded green (the photo actually enhances the color a bit!) and not nearly as colorful as the product photo.I also expected them to fly better. The wing is asymmetrical and they were flexed/bent a bit during shipment due to a rubber band around one end of the bunch. With some tweaking, some fly okay, but my son is not (yet) an aeronautical engineer, so these will be a bit of a learning experience.Three stars = It's okay - I suppose they are worth the 40 cents each... 3
