Customer Reviews

Five Stars for a Five Star General's Air Plane FleetJust like in your childhood, the cheap foam planes with plastic propellers that you spent all of your quarters saving tickets from hours rolling pin balls in the arcade to win. Now you can have a box with more planes than you can build and fly before your wife yells down the hall "what the h3ll are you doing in the guest bed room again?! You better not be staging another attack on the pacific fleet in Pearl Harbor. Its too soon!" But with these you can. You can stage any WW II air battle you want involving the 12 assorted gliders. With 48 planes, you can use a BB gun to shoot holes in the wings just like a real Anti Aircraft gunner. The fun is endless with these. They don't mention it, but there is some assembly required. And the piper cub is not accurate as the wings are high mount. 5These are awesome.I recently purchased these gliders to use as a reward for potty training my kid, using the bathroom like a big kid equals one plane. I'm hoping by the time we get through the entire pack of gliders we can say goodbye to diapers. These gliders are exactly like the ones I used to play with as a kid it's great to see they still make them. I received all the gliders with the correct amount of variation in designs that was advertised in the description. The gliders are well made and the design on the gliders are bright and detailed. The amount of gliders you get for the price is amazing, would be great for birthday party gift bags. The product is as advertised and I would buy from this seller again. 5My house is now a multinational WW2 Army Airbase.Just as I remembered them from when I was a child....over 30 years ago lol. The print color is much more clear and defined than what they used to be as well. 48 come in the case, not 12, however there are 12 different models. very pleased with this purchace, my kids love them. 5Childhood MemoriesWhen I was young I used to buy these at the corner store all the time. My friend and I would spend hours playing with them (and modifying them). I started sponsoring a child in Africa and was looking for some small trinket that would be easy to send through the mail. Preferably something that if lost or damaged what no big deal. When I came across these on Amazon, The memories of playing with them came flooding back. So with each letter I send to Africa I include one of these planes. My sponsor child and his friends love playing with them. So does my 16y/o son and my 3y/o grand daughter.Pros: cheap and fun. (with a bonus of nostalgia for those of us that played with them as a child)Cons: the do bend and break, but what do you expect from a foam plane. 5Decorations, party favors, rewards, and other uses.....I purchased these for my 6 year old to have as a small reward and as something that we could do/learn about together. We opened our first one, which was the Curtiss P-40 Tomahawk, and brought up some online videos of the real plane and it's connection with "The Flying Tigers". So, they can be fun and a little educational too. The box that I received contained 48 planes:Curtiss P-40 TomahawkFocke Wulf 190 A-4Mitsubishi ZeroType 4 Fighter HayateGrumman F6F HellcatHawker Hurricane MK. 11CNorth American Mustang MK2Thunderbolt F-47DAiracobra P-39Eockewulf TA 152HPiper Tri-PacerSpitfire MKIThe planes came evenly distributed with 4 of each kind. Each plane is individually wrapped and they look just like the ones that I use to get from the grocery store as a kid. The only difference that I can see is that these planes have a shiny glazed styrofoam covering and mine, as kid, were just white with inked markings. The planes are easy to assemble and while the markings and look of the models are not exactly authentic, there is enough there that helps to distinguish each one. The planes stay together well and do not blow apart in the air. The wing and tail wing stayed in place, but might need to be straightened up from time to time upon collisions with objects and the ground. Each plane comes with a plastic nose piece where you can insert the prop. The prop really does spin and will do so when flying. It doesn't really seem to help with any extended flight time however, but the nose piece is necessary for the model to achieve flight. I tried flying it without the nose piece and it just become erratic and crashes quickly. As far as actually flying, I tested it indoors and outdoors with various results. Outside, the plane wanted to go straight up in the air, perform a loop and level off for a glided landing. Inside, the plane tended to flying straighter. I also started to make small adjustments to the nose piece and this altered how it flew. Throwing the plane from over your shoulder and swinging out from the side of your body produced various results as well. As I was messing around with these, I was thinking that it might be a creative and fun exercise to give them to older teenagers in the classroom to see how they could alter the planes to achieve the longest flight time. Could be a good problem solving and collaboration exercise with each group trying to modify/alter their plane for the best results. The planes are relatively inexpensive but offer a variety of uses from decorations, party favors, rewards, or classroom challenges. They are easily assembled, stay together reasonably well, and will fly with various results upon experimentation. They offer opportunities to learn about aviation history with little ones as well. My 6 year old has trouble throwing his in a way that would allow it to take flight, but he still enjoys holding it in his hands and running around with it. They certainly bring back memories. Now...those little parachute guys..... 4Amuse the kids for penniesGranted, only a couple of cents apiece, but they dont actually fly. The one great thing about this pack of planes is that by the time the kids realize that they dont, and have broken a few dozen of them before they realize this fact, they have utterly worn themselves out and read for bed. Meanwhile your only out 10 bucks. 148 little toys for $7.49. What a deal!!What value!! My 5 year old gets to open 1 per day, so this means $7.49 will last 48 days. He loves holding these planes in the air while watching old WWII and WWI documentaries.SImple toy, no doubt, but one that is awesome for little kids and awesome imaginations. The box was in good condition and there were a few QC issues, like bent or broken propellers, but seriously, at less than 20 cents a piece, it would not be legitimate to gripe on such minor issues. Buy a box or several for giving out, for parties, for party favors and for fun at home! 5A great value and kids love them. Our airport aviation organization flys kids in real planes and wanted something to give them when they finished. These planes were perfect. Understand you need to be careful in assembly as the foam is thin. If you support the foam on the back side while inserting the wings and tail you can assemble without bending the foam. The propeller is sometimes a little tricky to get the small pin in the propeller mount but they all went together. Support the nose of the airplane near the propeller mount before pushing it on to avoid bending the fuselage. The planes actually flew pretty well. We had about kids throwing them all over the lobby while we waited for the rain to stop so we could fly them. I bought a second set for the next flying event. Highly recommended. 5Fun toys, BARGAIN!Okay, bought these as fillers for charity shoebox giving at Christmastime. I have some left over and are we ever having a GREAT time playing with them! They are easy to assemble and they fly (soar) very well! The propellers spin as they soar, too, for added effects. So tickled I stepped out and bought these not knowing if they would be any good. FUN and collectible, for sure! Just under 20 cents apiece, I could see these being sold in any small business/store charging a dollar apiece and make a pretty good profit. Air museums need to sell these! Best wishes. 5So. Many. Planes.A gazillion planes. Not sure how I missed the part that there were so many planes in this box. I ordered them for my son's birthday party as favors and we were still playing with them months later. I'd bring a few when we would visit friends, the kids would each get one and they'd play for hours. They're not very sturdy - if you step on them they're going to bend and break - but, there are a bajillion of them and you can just make a new one. Sometimes the propellers don't fit onto the attachment post because of the way they're molded, but like I said, there are a quadrillion planes, so just take the prop from another one and you're all good. 4
