Customer Reviews

Great well made invisible deck and the others are fine alsoThe "normal" and Svengali deck are fine but the invisible deck is excellent and one of the best I have used. I can't give a more detailed description without giving the trick away, but I have been an amateur magician for around 40 years and worked in a magic shop during my younger days so I have used a lot of these decks and this is a good one. 5Buy it!I was EXTREMELY happy with the quality of these cards! Now, before I go any further, I will qualify everything I'm about to say with the fact that I've been a close-up magician for years, but I love these decks and would definitely buy them again! The Svengali deck will take some practice for those new to magic (pro-tip: when first starting out, riffle through the cards instead of trying to cut the deck), but they are extremely high quality and easy to manipulate. I could use this deck within seconds of opening it up. With a little practice, I'm sure any aspiring magician could master these cards and be doing tricks within the same day!!The invisible deck with this pack is actually the ONLY invisible deck I've ever had that was easy to manipulate! I've had two invisible decks before this one and both of them were too low quality to perform with because they would give the trick away, but I was doing tricks with this deck minutes after opening it! Now, don't take this as invisible decks are easy to manipulate. Quite the opposite. An aspiring magician will have to work with this deck A LOT to make sure they don't give the trick away while performing it. I think invisible decks can be some of the most difficult decks to manipulate across the board. That said, aspiring magicians should be able to get the hang of this deck with some practice (even I screw up every now and then), and I'd say you should be able to perform this trick within the week or month of getting this deck depending on how well your manipulation skills are. It's a hard deck to work with, but trust me, the effect is well worth it, and you can do this trick over and over again! The regular deck is just a regular deck. I, however, made it into a marked bicycle deck, combined it in a trick with the invisible deck, and the effect blows people's minds!! Imagine that you hand a deck to someone, tell them to shuffle it, choose one card, and place it face down between you (they can even change the card if they wish). Then, you take out another deck and the only face down card in that deck matches the one they chose, and you can do this trick over and over and over again!! It wows the crowd every time! No, I won't say how to make your own marked deck here, but it's something to look into.Overall, I fully support this pack! Experienced close-up magicians can perform these effects almost right out of the box, and aspiring magicians can definitely learn to master these decks with some practice. Again, don't get discouraged with the invisible deck. It's hard work to master, but what makes this invisible deck so much better than the others out there is that you ARE able to master it, while, with other cheap invisible decks, I'd say no amount of practice will make you good enough to manipulate them. EVER!!Buy this pack! The effects are strong and the decks can be mastered with practice. Do it. Buy it! 5Will definitely be purchasing with RRM again. This product is phenomenal. All three decks are exactly as advertised. The two magic decks are masterfully prepared and therefore are simple to use. I am a high school teacher and kids literally think I am a wizard because of the effects from these two decks. I do know some standard sleight, but very little is needed to do anything with these decks.I will definitely turn my business on future purchases to Rock Ridge for future purchases. Don, from Rock Ridge Magic sincerely represented his company flawlessly. He checked in almost immediately to verify that I was properly satisfied, and his outgoing outreach is the epitome of customer service. 5Terrible gimmick decksFirstly, the Invisible deck has insufficient adhesive backing. This deck is pointless without proper adhesiveness. You cannot spread them on a table or in your hands without the two cards coming apart. Worthless. The Svengali deck is better, but it's still cut longer than a proper Svengali deck should be cut. This makes it very hard to do a riffle shuffle.I can not recommend this product. If Rock Ridge makes this, I cannot endorse their company, either. 1Great product, would buy againI ordered this package to have a nice matching set of trick decks, and I was not disappointed. Included are 3 identical looking decks, 2 of which are opened for "treatment", one of which is a sealed normal deck. The invisible deck is an awesome effect to have, and paired with the svengali and the normal deck, you can put together an entire routine. Practice and figure out how to switch out the decks throughout your routine, and you can really trip people out when you let them inspect your normal deck. There are basic instructions included, but the svengali deck has much more potential than the basic instructions include- go online and you can find many different tricks that will legitimately scare people when executed properly. Very happy with my order, 5 out of 5 stars, would recommend. 5Great value for the set of 3I sold plenty of these decks when I had my store, and overall they are of very solid quality.1. Normal deck - solid bicycle with matching box to other 2 (finish your set with this box, then set it down so it can be "snatched" up for inspection... remember better to let someone take something an inspect it vs. offering it up for inspection).2. Svengali - solid quality and works as it should. Matches other decks well. I bought this set as a gift due to the price, but ultimately the mirage deck will always be a better choice if you want to spend the money (Mirage deck is a short and long svengali but also has the cards roughed just like the invisible to allow for spreading of the deck. REALLY improves the effect). You can do an incredible amount of tricks with this deck, but due to the one card that is the trick you can't really do it for the same audience, never hurts to have about 4 of these (I have 10 Mirage decks:)3. Invisible deck - This is easily in the top 3 strongest effects and most popular that I sold at my store. It still completely freaks people out when I perform it. It is one of my very favorite tricks. The invisible deck in this set is a bit stickier than the ones I sold and as such it will be a bit harder to perform for those who already know and use the trick (can't light tap separate). However, for someone who has not used the trick I think the extra roughness which makes them stick more will be beneficial to keep them from showing a card they shouldn't. Just be a little careful on the actual spread of the chosen card. I also kind of like that it transitioned into a total of 14 (total value of both cards on each side) vs the traditional 13 that is used. The benefit of this is that you don't need to memorize which direction your red and black kings are in the deck, but the sorting has to be red one side, black the other (basically looks like a new deck - due to lack of going to 3rd and 4th suits I'm going to stay with the 13 count and have red and black show mixed for my spread)Performance tip:1. Svengali - don't always just make the deck appear to be the same card as people will know it is a gimmicked deck. I personally like to flip through the cards and have them stick their finger in the deck to pick a card. They then show it around, then you have another person to the same thing. Inevitably they laugh, and you ask "did you pick the same card?" Make them pick again, then when they pick same again tell them they are doing it wrong. Then go to another and have them do it. Feign defeat and then show that you place the deck into the middle of the pack, have it hop to the top. Repeat this a few times then pocket the deck and swap to another.2. Invisible deck - This deck comes sorted, and it is easy to perform as is. However, I personally don't want to spread a deck that only shows two suits, then the upside down card is an opposite suit to the spread. I'll rearrange these to have clubs backing diamonds, and hearts backing spades, then have the total of the two cards backing each other total 13. The reason I prefer this is because the deck can be set up to be spreadable showing all suits and mixed up. Odd cards face one way, while even cards are on the back. So you just need to know which way the odd and even are facing when you take it out. Use a joker face down for when you open the deck. Then if your cards are facing up just peel the joker off and set aside face up. No one questions your removing a joker because it's normal to do with a deck of cards. Otherwise if you need the other side of the deck, leave the joker face down on the deck so it appears you are just turning a completely face down deck face up... then spread to the card and do the math, tap their card and separate.Extra invisible deck tip: When you hand them the deck to shuffle, remind them to take them out of the box first (always gets a chuckle). Then palm the deck and swipe it over your hand to make it appear when they hand it back to you. When you tell them to choose a card tell them not to pick an ace or a king (helps so you also don't have to memorize position of the king if you use my preferred 13 total version). Lastly, when you tell them to choose a card tell them to not only show it to a spectator next to them, but to make sure they know what it is. Doing this essentially forces them to tell the spectator verbally what it is. About 15% of the time I'll hear what they said... imagine now that you produce the card, upside down in the deck as they were instructed to replace it, and they never told you what it was. On the rare occasion you can hear them it blows everyone away. Normally I'll do this trick back to back as they always want you to, but when I hear the card I'll put the deck away to retain the amazing feat that was just pulled off.Summary: Great value and quality for the price. I'll probably pick up a few more just to have stashed for gifts. 5Invisible Great, Svengali just okayInvisible deck. Much better than one I purchased on Amazon previously. Makes fanning much easier without accidental reveals especially for rare/novice users. So I highly recommend this item!Svengali deck. It is nice and well made, no quality complaints. BUT!! It is only cut one way. Meaning on the deck I received, you can only reveal the cards vertically by pressuring the top or bottom. A previous deck I had you could pressure the side or top meaning you could let the cards fall face first or back first or what I liked was doing both, depending on side or top/bottom pressure. I think this aspect adds a lot to the illusion if you use it right. Not sure the way most Svengali decks are made, but I wish I had this nicer deck like this bicycle deck, that functioned like my older less well made deck. 4which are great. One day I'll give up the Invisible deck ...While I shared one of the red Svengali decks (also from Rock Ridge) with my youngest son, I've kept these blue ones for myself. The roughing liquid on the invisible deck seems to be very high quality and long lasting. I still haven't broken them in yet. The Svengali deck is what you would expect: high quality Bicycle cards with the appropriate gaffing. Links to instructional videos, as usual, which are great. One day I'll give up the Invisible deck to my son, but for now it's my little secret. ;) 5Fine product, excellent customer serviceThe invisible deck is a crowd-pleaser that always leaves them scratching their heads and is hard to get wrong once you get the simple premise down. It's a great trick for amateurs to pick up. The svengali deck is also a good one to have in your pocket, and with the matching regular deck, you've got a trifecta for playing the room at a dinner party.I should add that initially there was a problem with my order in that one of the boxes was different, though all the cards were the same backing. This prevents a clean deck swap with cards in the box. I still give the product five stars, however, because when I contacted the Rock Ridge Magic, they sent me out a new, matching deck plus a little bonus for the mix up. I am now very satisfied. That is great customer service! They've won my future business.Incidentally, unlike one of the other reviews, I found the invisible deck to be of excellent quality -- better than my previous invisible deck, in fact. 5Five StarsGreat price. For $18, you get two trick decks and a normal deck of cards. You can use the normal deck for playing or any trick you'd like. The Invisible deck is a shocker. You build up the trick by having them visualize a deck and pick out a random card. After they tell you their card, you whip out your invisible deck and spread through. There is their card turned upside down and a surprised expression on their face. Once you finish your Invisible deck trick and they ask for more, you take your Svengali deck out surprise them again. You riffle through and show them it's a normal deck. You riffle through again and ask them when to stop. They tell you to stop and their card is the Queen of Clubs. Once more, you riffle through and all the cards are the Queen of Clubs. To finish it all, you use your normal deck for a trick and hand them the deck to inspect. Amazing. 5
