Good memory game!Simon Flash is a game that will give your memory quite a workout. It's like the original Simon game from days of old, but it includes additional versions of play. Of course, it takes a while to get the hang of each version, but once you do the action is quite fast. This is perfect from eight to adult. It does, however, require a lot of batteries to work, which could become a concern if it is used frequently. Otherwise, this game is lots of fun and worth purchasing. Because of it's small size, it would be perfect for travel. 4Simon FlashThis is such a cute new version of the original Simon game. Not only does it have the original Simon game, but it also contains three other Simon-type games. It is small and portable so you could take it with you wherever you want to go. The batteries were even included with the game (since it takes 8 AA!) that is spectacular! I think that this is a spectacular addition to the Simon game! 4Loved the old gameEveryone loved playing or watching a good game of Simon.Pros- can play the same game as the original. It is in bar form instead of circle which isnt as good. There are two other forms of play that makes use of the bricks being able to separate.Cons- I've heard many reviews talk about bricks that start to malfunction. One of mine the sound stopped on and its not in mute mode. 3Did not work properly.I bought one of these for my 8-year-old nephew for Christmas. He complained that evening that he couldn't make it work, so I set about to show him. After 30 minutes, I didn't get any farther than him. The instructions are simple, clear, and utterly fail to work. I'm a veteran programmer it's not like Simon is over my head. It simply doesn't work. Based on other ratings, clearly this cannot be true for everybody, so I conclude that they have a certain failure rate, and I got caught by that. 1Teacher loves thisI am a special education teacher and I got this thinking that it would improve memory skills in the students that I share with other teachers. I do not have statistics, however I can tell you, students love this game and love challenging each other to see how far they can get. Scrabble Flash has also been a hit with students this school year. 4A little confusing to get started, but great once you figure it outThis was a Christmas gift for my 9 yr old, recommended by our developmental pedi for increasing memory/paying attention(he was a preemie and struggles with the typical preemie issues).He loves it and once he figured it out, played for days. I saw the improvements almost immediately, he went from being able to remember the sequence with 3-4 lights to remembering it with 12-14 lights(far beyond my personal capability) in a matter of 2days.This is a great tool for helping kids with attention issues while being a fun interactive toy!!(my son's issue is more of a need to slow down...he often will listen to the first "instruction" and then want to figure out the rest without waiting to hear the next steps-no ADD or ADHD, however we were told it is great for that as well.) 5It works and keeps even teenagers entertainedI like the variations. I use this game for rehab and prehab in cognitive function for athletes coming back from head injuries or just wanting to improve their memory or problem solving skills. 5Works fineI guess it would be a good idea to purchase rechargeable batteries seeing that each unit (there's 4) requires 2 aa batteries each. I bought this for someone that needed a little memory challange once in a while and it works. The other simon game that looks like the old one was worthless and simply did not work, which was a dissapointment and had to be returned. 4Game Moves Slowly....Disappointing!I was so excited to order this game, having loved the original Simon as a child. I liked the idea of having a copycat game like the original plus 3 new games. Unfortunately, one key element was missing in this new game.....any type of challenge! Do you remember how the original Simon game would speed up as you progressed? This one just keeps the same slow pace....it's so frustrating! And the remaining 3 games are no challenge at all! Sorry to say that this game won't get much play time in our house. 2Fascinating for a Few Hours, Then Mediocre and Too Easy.I bought this because I like gadgets and I like the original Simon game. There is some fascinating technology in this game that makes it fun for awhile, but the games are too easy. It is a pretty amazing thing that the 4 cubes can communicate.The novelty wears off pretty fast though, because the games are not really challenging. There are no difficulty levels to choose from and the difficulty does not change as time goes on, during a game.Another con is the fact that the game requires 8 AAA batteries. It comes with batteries, but if you end up playing the game a lot, you will be swapping batteries often.In conclusion, this game is pretty fascinating at first, but loses appeal fast. A young kid may have a lot of fun with it, but older kids and adults will get bored, because it's generally too easy. Get a real Simon with adjustable difficulty levels and a faster pace as the game goes on. This game would be a good value at $10, but not $20. 3
