My 6 year old is obsessed with anything spiderwick so we made our own rules. The pieces and bored are nicely made, just the actual rules for the game itself is too complex for younger kids and adults alike. 1Spiderwick Board GameA little disappointed with this game. Instructions are not very clear and the game is not very exciting. My kids only played it once, not much fun. 3board gameMy son would list this game in his top 3 list. He doesnt play bord games much but when he does he always picks this one for us to play. He is 7 but has been playing it for about a year now. We play acording to the rule book and we also make up our own rules. The bord to the game is stable and all the pieces fit in acordingly. The box is durable and looks nice too. This is what drew me in when I bought it for him. The box itself looks like a book. Also my son will sometimes uses the little goblin pieces when he plays with his action fiures. I gave it 4 stars only because the rules were a little hard for me to understand at first. 4Five StarsGreat series! My son and I are hooked! 5This game is unfairThis game is unfair toward the goblins. The children have 19 movement cards out of which 8 are helpful. They also have 10 tool cards. The goblins have 6 helpful cards out of 17 and only 3 tool cards. The odds were stacked against the goblins. Despite the species-ist nature of the game the pieces were very cute and the board was interesting. I would however recommend coming up with your own rules for some of the game though because the directions are hard to follow. 2Not Much for Your BuckThe Spiderwick Series is fabulous, but, as usual, when the movie gets made, the marketers endeavor to create any product to make a buck. If you have a Spiderwick-crazy kid to buy for, they'll like it, but there's simply not much to it, except for the neat box it comes in. 3
