    Great Gift For KidsI try to get gifts for kids that are nostalgic of toys I loved as a kid. The scope is even better than the one I had! 5A bit lameI bough this for my 2 kids who love to play spy games. It's not at all easy to use/understand. You can't actually see much through it. Not really worth the $. 1fun spy toyI bought this as a gift for my nephew. Now that he has played with it for a while, I can finally comment on its value--which is why I am editing my original review. It does what it is supposed to do and is fun for looking over the top of furniture. He uses it in conjunction with his spy pen and binoculars to do "secret spy missions." If you combine a few items like this into one big gift like I did, I think it would be a big success. 4Mom of 4Wow this was a bust. I purchased 4 of these and it was way off from my expectations. Scope only allows you to see dime size image and red light does not shine any light or ray. My poor kids were disappointed because this really sounded like something they would have carried with them everywhere. I do not recomend this product because of its poor functional performance. 1Amateur spy loved it.Grandaughter asked for "spy stuff" for birthday. This really fit the bill. It was a big hit all afternoon and genrated the best thank you note ever. 4Be forewarnedI saw a different periscope toy at a toy store, but bought the SpyNet Surveillance Scope online when I saw it had a flashlight in addition to the periscope. Big mistake.First, the Amazon product description doesn't reveal that the flashlight is a single *red* LED. In other words, it doesn't cast much light. Maybe if your kid has watched lots of spy movies with spies using infrared flashlights he won't mind.Second, the two ends of the periscope that must be pulled out for use don't pull out easily and sometimes stick. The same sticking problem exists when closing it back up. At least that's the situation on the two scopes I bought.Third, the mirror (aka the part that makes the periscope function) is very small. When looking for a toy periscope, I suggest looking in person at a toy store. Check the size of the eyepiece and mirror because it dictates how much can be viewed through the periscope, and thus how much fun vs. trouble the periscope will be for your kids. 1Granddaughter loves it.My granddaughter chose this, and when she got it, she loved it. I have no idea how she uses it, but needless to say, it met all her expectations. 5It works!This was a gift for my 8 year old grandson.It arrived on time and fit the description well. He loved it and it does really work.Yes, I would recommend this to a friend. 4cheaper quality than it looksVery poor quality product - you're better off using a sturdy wrapping paper tube and a mirror. Ended up as a cheap stocking stuffer for x-mas. 1Cheap TOYThe toy is so samll and cheap that kids just don't play with it. It's a total wast of money ! 1
