These models are designed to be customized with fine detailed parts. the kit alone is relatively simple but it's meant to be customized. So basic assembly can be done by a rookie but results may disappoint. To get the full potential out of this kit takes advanced model building knowledge and skill.To the unfortunate person who bought this, thinking it was a children's toy. You have my sympathy. But I would take it up with those who led you to buy this as a children's toy. 5I built this as an experienced modeler at age 17. It is great, but NOT for young kidsThis is an adult-class model. It is finely detailed at a small scale (1/700; about a foot long for a BATTLESHIP). Through you need to buy some extra tools to make the model exquisite.There is no sealing or warping for the cardboard boxing, which made the box wreck a little bit. But since the inside parts are okay, so no need to return. 4LOVE IT SO MUCHOne of the best model Tamiya ships I have ever built. Definitely recommend this for ages 11 and up. 5
