    Looks Fantastic; Occasionally Jams; Highly RecommendedThis puzzle looks fantastic and unlike what other reviewers have made out, in my experience, it rarely has functionality problems. And when it does have issues, they can typically be resolved by moving the piece a different direction, then moving it back in the direction you originally wanted--not too difficult to manage on the rare occasion that it has a problem. 5Stylish take on a classic puzzle....The Bottom Line~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~The 15-puzzle is a toy I grew up owning and playing in several different forms. I had one with numbers, one with letters, and even one or two with pictures. I was glad to see a metal version (since I have several young children), especially one as sleek and stylish looking as this one. It's a nice rendition, with subtle colors and rounded corners on the pieces. It does have its design flaws. The pieces can get a little sideways or wedged up against an adjacent piece, and they slide so smoothly that it's almost impossible to play the game unless its lying flat on the table or your lap. That said, the construction seems sturdy enough and it comes with a nice case and ample instructions. It's a hit among my kids, even the 4-year-old (though he only tries to line up the colors). I think it earns 4 stars, and I recommend it for nostalgic puzzle enthusiasts of any age, and for careful kids as young as 4.~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Pros:- Sleek design.- Classy color scheme.- Smooth movement of pieces.- Solidly constructed from metal components.- Handy carrying case.- Detailed instruction foldout with various methods to arrange the pieces.Cons:- The "rail and slot" design allows pieces to turn and get wedged in between slots, or to lift slightly onto an adjacent piece. I don't get the feeling, as others have stated, that the pieces are likely to pop out of the board (unless one intentionally pries on them).- The movement is so smooth that it's nearly impossible to arrange the pieces unless the puzzle is flat (horizontal), as the pieces simply slide to the lowest possible point. 4Fun to play, but...Fun to play - very addictive - numerous ways to solvebut...not well made, tiles slide down on their own, if it is tipped at even the slightest angle from flat, making it very difficult to play for long, because you can't hold it at a "reading" angle when holding. You have to have it exactly flat, like on a table surface (which defeats the whole "be able to take it with you for idle moments waiting, etc."), and if you don't slide them carefully, they detach and come up off of the grid.Overall, it was ok value for money, and we will all probably still get a lot of wear out of it - just wish it weren't so fidgety and didn't so easily slide around and come apart. As long as you're prepared to handle it delicately, and keep it very level, it's a great game to play. 3Great fidget for high school studentsBeautiful and high quality. I'd only seen wooden and plastic versions of this kind of puzzle before. My son borrowed this one from a friend and I had to have one for my office. I work with high school students and they love it. It is a great fidget for them to use during sessions, simple enough that they don't get overly frustrated but challenging enough that it isn't boring. So far the kids have really enjoyed it. Great purchase. 5an great gift ideaI have had one of these for many years and then while browsing through Amazon, I typed in Fifteen Puzzle and it came up. So I ordered two of them for my two grandchildren. Ages are 10 and 8. They both play with them all the time and it takes them away from staring at the television or playing video games. A perfect gift for young minds to learn eye hand co-ordination. 5Very disappointed.I was totally disappointed in this item. Not even the colors were as presented in the ad. I returned it. The pieces either stuck or slid loosely out of position when they were supposed to stay in place. No enjoyment was had using the item. I owned one for many years, but it was lost in my move. This looked just like the one I had owned. I believe these handheld games should not go away. They fit in a pocket or purse and do not require batteries. When made properly, they are so much fun and present a good challenge. 1Can only be used flat on a table!When I saw this for sale, it brought back fond memories of a similar one I had back in the 1960s. It was just a cheap plastic one but I was able to use it a lot. When I got this one, I was sitting in a chair and was holding it in my lap. Whenever I would move some tile up, others would fall into the open space. It was extremely frustrating! I never realized there were so many different ways to do the puzzle. It comes with great directions. I keep one in each of my vehicles and have something to do when stuck in traffic. 5I like this little thingIts smaller than I had expected at about 2 1/2 by 2 1/2 inches. I like this little thing, although maybe slightly over-priced for what you get. The only issue I have is it has to be laying flat to be played with or else the tiles will move down. Also the craftsmanship isn't perfect. Theres one spot where tiles seem to get stuck on occasion. Not a big deal but worth noting. Also worth noting is I've seen other reviews saying (with pictures) that they put multiples of the same number on the puzzle ,ie two 12s, in case you havent read those reviews. Not quite 5 stars but a neat little puzzle. 4
