    Great for Everyday/Every child UseIt was a wonderful gift for my cousins, I have two diagnosed autistic cousins (both of different spectrums) and they LOVED this gift. They did not put it down and carried it with them continuously, everywhere they went. For about a day.I'm only giving it 4 out of 5 stars because I consider it durable, however in the hands of one of my cousin- whom was simply having fun and exploring- it was destroyed. I have purchased this twice and they have loved and destroyed it both times. I will continue to purchase it because it truly is approved by my aunt and her kids. Thank you Toysmith, we truly appreciate your product! 4Poor QualityWhen this arrived neither the outer package nor the inner package appeared to be damaged in any way. Yet when I opened the inner package, I could see that it was totally broken. The black posts that are supposed to connect the clear plate and black plate and keep the pins in place all had the heads snapped off. The pins were falling out everywhere. This product is definitely made of inferior plastic material. I am just returning it for a refund and not having a new one sent from this vendor. I wasn't at all surprised to see that this junk was "Made in China" ...I wish Amazon would specify the origin of its products, so I could buy American made products and bypass this kind of junk altogether! 1Great for figiting, oddly mesmerizingLiteralllllyy everyone in my family loved this toy except the kid I bought it for! I read somewhere that motor sensory toys are good for kids with ADD/ADHD and thought my nephew would like it, so i bought it for him for christmas, and he was mildly interested. It was left on the kitchen table and everyone who sat down at it played with it almost in a trance, its very calming and mesmerizing. Not batteries no flashing lights but it was so entertaining and oddly comforting to fidget with, thinking about buying one for just me!! 5Fun Gadget!I m very happy with this purchase. I gave one to each of my 8 & 9 year old granddaughters and they love playing with it and leaving a different shaped mold standing for others who come over to view. It s very heavy. It s not a toy for younger children without supervision at all times. Easy to drop and break. Solid metal pins is what makes it so heavy. I highly recommend for an older child or adult who likes to fiddle and fool around with something. 5Just as expected.I had a couple of these sitting around in my living room, which kids play with all the time. They are super fun, and you can use them in many more ways than intended. After reading all of the reviews of cracked acrylic, I was hesitant to order this as a last minute addition to a birthday present. The package arrived on time with sparse bubble wrap, which made me a little concerned. After I opened the box, I noticed that the metal and acrylic toy was in a bubble wrap envelope and had a nice piece of styrofoam covering the ends of all of the pins. Nothing was cracked and it was delivered just in time. 5Scratched my daughter's face badlyIt came with a broken screw, so we had to return it, but before we noticed that, my daughter put it on her face to make a print and scratched her face badly. Instead of being smooth on the bottom of the pins they are all pointy and scratchy. 1AverageThe one I purchased said it was sold by Amazon.com LLC. It came in good packaging and was in good shape.However, this was not the quality of the one that I had when I was young. The pins don't move nearly as well and the ends of the pins are a bit rough (but don't hurt) - you may not want to make a face print especially as you have to press a bit harder to get them to move! Also, the pins are shorter than I remember mine being which means you get less 3D effect than I remember.That said, I don't think I could get a better one elsewhere, I looked for one at the mall (and it's a big mall with lots of options) and couldn't find one. 3fun classic toy that is relaxing and entertainingi bought this as a gift for my boyfriend as a toy for his office at work. it is really fun to create 3D impressions of things like your hand, people's faces, or to create your own pictures like a castle. definitely a fun and entertaining toy that helps you relax your mind when your brain gets stuck on a problem at work. the only bummer is that one of the plastic screws holding the frame of this toy together was broken on the one i received. luckily it was possible to use some super glue to fix it, but just be wary that it might come a little damaged. 5Fun toy but be carefulThe recommended age starts at 5 but it just seems like an accident waiting to happen.The pins are sharp, I actually cut my finger when I picked it up to give to my husband who went to go show my daughter how it works and several of the pins ended up getting stuck and it took several minutes to get it fixed.I remember these things as a kid but I don't remember the pins being that sharp! As a kid, I would put my face in it to get the impression on the other side but I wouldn't dare do it with this one! So besides the sharp pins and the questionable quality... They are a fun toy to mess around with. Buy with caution!UPDATE:I just took away a star- we have barely even played with it and the pins are constantly getting stuck. Not impressed with the quality. 2Perfect distraction for all agesI needed a toy that my 6 yr old son with autism could play with while his siblings were in a reading class. The "Pin Box" completely grabbed his attention. He stuck toys behind the needles and played with it for a long time. Other kids were fascinated by it, especially when putting it up against their faces.One caveat is that you should periodically tighten the bolts that hold the unit together (I did this by hand). I did NOT do this originally and noticed one day that quite a few needles were sticking at various slants. They had become misaligned because the bolts had loosened. I had to individually straighten maybe 50 or so needles (by carefully loosening the bolts but not completely disassembling the unit) back into each pinhole. A BIG PAIN, but necessary because this is a very beloved toy. I'd get it again if this conks out. 5
