Sturdy but see through.Very sturdy cards but somewhat see through. Have to keep the answer hidden with your hand or else your child can see through the card to see the answer without learning them. 3Exactly what I was looking for!These were exactly what I was looking for! This is a complete set of multiplication flash cards that includes zeros through twelves. Many sets only go through tens or don't include ALL the facts for each specific number. Each card has one multiplication problem on the front (minus the answer) and the exact same problem on the back WITH the answer. These are great for learning the multiplication facts and can be used individually or with a partner. 5ABSOLUTELY THE ONE YOU WANT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!THIS IS THE ONE YOU WANT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Cons: NONEPros:1. You cannot see through it.2. The back shows the problem WITH answer, and the front shows the problem. UNLIKE MANY OTHERS, they DIDN'Tt put a different problem on each side, which necessitates covering the answer with your fingers. THIS one is perfect.3. They round one of the corners. However, to clarify, it really takes very little light to see through. You are going to want to put your hand behind the card. I knew this when I bought it so I'm only taking one star off.All the cards are there 0x0 to 12x12 and that's what I wanted. Numbers are big and cards lightly laminated both sides. Worth the cost. 4Very Good Flash Cards!I've been using these with my daughter for months. They have held up excellently. I have them wrapped in rubber bands by number (2s, 3s, etc.) and they don't bend under the force of the rubber band. On the last card of a set, yes, you can see through it, but we just put the blank card (included) or another card or set of cards behind it and block it. I wouldn't want these cards any heavier, so I just don't find this a problem. This includes every combinations of numbers up to 12 x 12, which most packs lack. They are big and clear. Also, one day some of these fell out my car, and I didn't realize it till I got home. They were all over the driveway--soaked with rain! But they didn't rip, and they didn't blow away. They were warped, though they probably would have flattened if I had pressed them while wet. And more importantly, we can still use them. That speaks quality to me. What else can I say. They do their job and they do it well. I think I'll try to flatten those and then donate them to my daughter's school when we are finished with them. 5excellent quality cards to help with memorizing multiplication tablesThese cards are great quality! The card stock is a decent thickness and the numbers are large. It also contains every possible combination up to 12X12. I've been using these cards daily to teach my young daughter her multiplication table and she is rapidly memorizing it all using only these cards. After her multiplication table training is complete I will donate the cards to her school. 5Excellent, good quality multiplication flash cardsAs an educator and tutor, I find many children struggle with their multiplication facts, and this leads to frustration in learning when they advance through the grades, especially when they are tackling complex multiplication problems and also long division. When I recall my elementary school days, I remember my teacher requiring all of us to memorize the multiplication tables from 1 through 12 and after doing so over and over through the course of several weeks, I found I could recall the multiplication tables quickly through memory work and didn't have to add the numbers as many kids do these days. It is rote memory work, but it works and I can still remember the facts till today!I wanted to start my second grade daughter on her multiplication facts and have been using these cards over the last couple of weeks. I have been encouraging her to say them out loud in full, e.g. "0 times 0 = 0" and so on, working through all the way to "12 times 12= 144" because I find that if one just calls the answer out, it doesn't quite stick in the mind. Now, I do think it is important to explain the basics of multiplication before starting this rote exercise because a child needs to understand how multiplication works. Connections can also be made, for example "Any number multiplied by zero = zero" and so on so that a child understands how numbers work when multiplied. Once the foundations are laid, rote work can begin and it is quite effective. Over the course of almost a month, my child has memorized most of the multiplication table, and at this point, she is trying to master the more difficult numbers such as the 8 times table and 9 times table.These cards are well-made of quality stock cards and of course one can laminate them if you wish them to hold up for a longer period (and if you have other children you'd like to use them with, also for classroom or homeschooling use). I sorted them out into several piles, beginning from the Zero times table till the Twelve times table, and sometimes I mix them up to ensure she has got the facts down. Another plus point in these cards is that each card has only one fact - the question is on one side and the answer is on the other which makes it less confusing. Paying a little extra for this convenience is well worth it.These cards work well with other strategies such as a multiplication matrix which helps a child see the connections (and short cuts) in multiplication facts. I also try to play some games to mix it up a little to make learning fun! The sense of accomplishment a child feels after successfully mastering multiplication facts is truly a joy to behold. 5Thin and transparent--you can see the answerThey are so thin you can see through them (and see the answer) unless you hold them so no light shines from behind. 2Rounded Corners a Great Feature; Easy Workaround for Translucent CardsWe were interested in keeping multiplication skills up over the summer. To me, the most important criteria was that problems would be shown in reverse order (example: 2x3=, 3x2= ). This set fulfills that need.Some folks have commented about children being able to see through the cards and have the answers revealed. I felt the cards were thick enough to hold up against normal wear and tear, although it is possible to see the answer if you hold the cards up to the light. We came up with a simple solution by placing the cards in a pile. The child then reads the problem, guesses the answer, then turns the card over to check to see if he is correct. This works well, and allows children to be able to practice on their own. The rounded corners are a great feature, allowing anyone to quickly sort the cards so that the answers are all face down. 5Teacher recommended (by me). The best I've seen on AmazonThese aren't the cheapest flash cards, but BEWARE OF OTHERS. These are the only ones that have a separate card for ALL the math facts and have it without the answer on one side and with the answer on the other side. All the other ones I found here cut corners by not including all math facts or putting different problems on each side. They are also printed on thick durable cards, not like flimsy ones I've seen. I have purchased about 6 sets for my classroom, but this last set is for my daughter who is just going into 3rd grade next year. 5
