    Just like the Sabers sold in FranceI saw these Champagne Sabres in France and I wanted to buy one but, air travel prevented me for doing so. First, obviously, you can't take this on-board in your carry on luggage. Then, when it comes to checked luggage, customs doesn't like this type of product going through inspections and there is always the problem of theft from your checked luggage.I was very pleased to find this product available on Amazon as I now have the Sabre as a memory of a grand vacation without the risk or hassle of trying to bring it back home.As to the Sabre itself, it is attractive, well made and perfectly serves its' intended purpose. There are no sharp edges, other than the tip of the sword. Both sides function perfect in dislodging the top of a Champagne bottle with a clean glass break and the cork remains in place (in the tip of the bottle) without any glass fragments getting into the Champagne. 5really works wellIt came realatively quickly. It's impressive to "newbies" due to the quality of the blade, etching, handle, etc., while not being oversized or bulky. It works perfectly (search the Internet for instructions if you've never done this before). 5perfect!great product!! 5Looks as cheap as it isGood: The blade and tang are solid; wood handle is nice and smooth. (I bought the box to go with, and it was fine.)Bad: The knuckleguard is a bit cheap--plain strip of steel that was notched in several places. But the worst is that the printing you see on the blade is *not engraved*. It is some kind of plastic printed "engraving." On mine, it looks as though the stamp moved or double-stamped so the printing looked terrible to boot. I didn't have time to exchange it (wedding gift), so I managed to scrape off all the printing using acetone to soften it.Champagne sabers are typically very expensive. This one is cheap(er), but you get what you pay for. 3
