My one year old loves this.This is a relatively small set in terms of the number of pieces of track. Everything is sized appropriately for little ones with no choking hazards. I really like this set because unlike other train sets we've had in the past, the train doesn't have to be perfectly placed on track to run. It doesn't get stuck on corners either, it manages to straighten itself and keeps going. I've read reviews talking about the circle being pointless, but all you have to do is remove the red barrier that pops on. My only wish is that this was one solid piece or that you could screw the tracks together somehow. I get so tired of putting his track back together. 4FANTASTIC TOY!LOVE this set! My 3 year old & 1 year old have been playing with it non-stop since we opened it. (1 year old is a little young for it, but it still keeps him entertained lol).The train has two on options: one to make the train drive itself, the second lets your kid push the train. It makes lots of noise, but i'd say it's more on the quiet side so it's not annoying. Seriously this is a fantastic toy! My only complaint is the track pieces don't stay together very well, so if you need to pick up & move the track, the whole thing comes apart. But as long as you arent trying to move it, it stays together when it's just sitting on the floor (or table). 5Hours of quiet entertainment for toddlers!Got this for a friend s 14 month old son. As soon as the kid saw it, he wanted it out of the box to play with. (Score!!)Really great features on this to keep a kid entertained! The train makes noises, talks, and sings songs, and can be played on the track manually, or automatically drive around. I can see this being hours of fun. :D(Also important note for parents: though the train makes noises, it s not too loud so can be easy to tune out if needed) 5Good toy with a few issuesMy kids really enjoy playing with this toy, however there are a few issues. 1. Some of the track pieces have gotten lose after a few times taking them apart and now they come apart easily. Now if my kids attempt to move the track it falls apart. 2. The loop section of the track causes the train to gets stuck and stop. We had to permanently put the red piece to block it so the train will consistently move around the trackOverall, it s a cute little toy and my kids aren t as bothered by the issues as I am. They do still enjoy playing with it and it has some cute sayings. 4Difficult to assemble properly.I've never been good setting up train sets so I asked my engineer husband to do it. Even with instructions we could not get everything to work properly. It is so frustrating because it is an expensive set. We constantly have an engine jumping off the track and heading into another room. I guess that is an extra, unexpected, entertainment. 3Great as an add-on to the larger "Train Station Playset"We bought this set to add on to the larger "Go Go Smart Wheels Train Station Set" that our 2 year old son already has, and loves to play with. It also allowed him to have 2 different motorized trains, since the one sold in this set has a different color scheme than the one that we already have. The only criticism I have, is the locomotive with this set says the exact same lines/songs as the train sold with the larger "Train Station Set". It also has the same "name" - Trevor. This can make it somewhat annoying (to adults) when both trains are running at the same time. We also had purchased the "Carry-all Cargo Train" (non-motorized vehicle) so that we could use the extra cars sold with it, to hook onto the motorized locomotive from this set. So far the $20.00 this set cost was worth getting some additional track/accessories, and a 2nd motorized train. 4Great valueThis was an excellent value. My little guy got the train station last Christmas and by Halloween the train's motor was no longer strong enough to push the train around the track even with new high quality batteries. The manufacturer wanted $17 for a new train alone once you factored in shipping, so this was a great value to pick up a new replacement train and a few more pieces of track. Love it! 5Great toy! Engine and track cheaper than the engine alone. Better replacement par. Also fun stand-alone toy.This is a small but good little piece of track. I bought this just for the engine. Since I already owned a larger version of this track the extra pieces just made our total track bigger. One piece of advice - try to keep the engine off the carpet. The carpet fuzz and animal hair will clog up the wheels and there is no way to access the wheel cavity to clean it out.The train and track is my daughter favorite toy. The engine is self powered (3 AA batteries I believe) and has button triggers on the bottom to make sounds according to the track it runs on. Many V-tech vehicles are not self powered, so do not try to buy the police car for the race track unless you want to push it around the track. 5Set is nice, except for broken trainMy kids love this trainset. Unfortunately, the original and the replacement both contained a broken train, which is probably the majority of the cost of the product. I m not sure who to fault the retailer or the manufacturer. I replaced the demo batteries (both were dead) on both trains with 2 different sets of new batteries to make sure the batteries weren t faulty. What I did noticed was that the demo batteries were dated 2014, so I think the products may have been shelved a long time. I am still keeping the replacement, despite the broken train, because my children love to connect the tracks with their other GOGO wheels structures. Plus I very much doubt another replacement will yield a functioning train. 1Fun and reasonably priced battery train set for toddlersThis is a really cute set of battery operated train and track in the Go Go Smart Wheels line by V Tech. I must admit I have already purchased the larger set and bought this to add to the fun. However, if price is an issue and/or you are checking to see if your child is ready for this set (at 18 months, my grandson is just getting the concept), then this smaller set would make a first great step. It has the train, curves, and a couple of special effects (tunnel and gate) to make play time fun. I think that the recommended one year old is very young for this set but it is a toy that they will grow into. 5
