Customer Reviews

HILLARIOUS! Great idea for Family Game Night!Daughter ReviewI played this for the first time a few weeks ago at a birthday party. It sounded a bit lame, but I gave it a chance. This game is HYSTERICAL!Everyone sits in a circle. The person who's birthday is closest to the day you are playing goes first, and they take a challenge card. (Example: Sing a holiday song) after they complete or at least TRY to do the challenge card, they pick a curse card. They do NOT want to read it aloud, of they will give the curse to their self. Example of a curse: Cluck like a chicken whenever you speak. They give the curse card to someone, and that person reads it aloud. They now are stuck with that curse and must do it for the rest of the game unless they break it. If you forget to do your curse, you break it. If someone sees you breaking your curse, they ring the bell and say so. When you break three curses, you're out of the game. This game gets insane. In the game I played, we gave most of the curses to one kid. When the bell was rung, he had to cry like a baby, act scared, and faint. When he spoke, he had to cluck like a chicken, echo the last work he spoke, and hiccup. There was one given to another kid where whenever the bell was rung he had to ask the person who rang it to the High School Prom.I don't recommend this game to people who are easily embarrassed, unless they are trying to get over it. Otherwise, this game is amazing and will have you in stitches! 5I love this game more than most other things that exist. It's so much fun. What other game makes you speak and behave like an armless vampire with a mouth full of golf balls? That is a real combo I've had before. Also, easy to turn into a drinking game. The only downside is that some people are uncomfortable acting silly so it might not last long if you have uptight friends. Best to do with fun-loving friends who can cut loose and act silly, people who like to challenge themselves with new voices/behaviors.I found out about this in college, I'm 28 now, and it's still my favorite game. Although, I haven't played Cards Against Humanity yet. I bet they'll be tied. 5Lots of fun with house rulesI purchased this game because I am a board game enthusiast and I hoped it would be fun to play with my friends at college. When played following the rules exactly, it becomes kind of boring because everyone has the same curse cards throughout the entire game unless they fail them, which of course, causes them to lose.We decided it would be more fun if we added some house rules. We added a rule that says on your turn, you can choose to play a curse card on yourself and give someone else a curse card that you have had for three or more turns. This one rule makes the game last longer and makes it funnier as well. For example, instead of hearing one person speak in a falsetto the entire game, you get to hear other people around the table do it as well, which means this curse also gets combined with many others.Overall, this game is a lot of fun as long as you have a minimum of four people. It can be played with three, but the curse cards accumulate way too fast that way. I would definitely recommend this game to someone who likes to goof around with their friends, or for someone to use as an icebreaker. 4Okay on its own, but can be used as a mod on other games to amazing effect. This is a really fun game... and it will get you cursing. A fun thing to try if this game isn't fun enough on its own is to combine it with Cards Against Humanity. The rules we play by are to have the person who wins the black card choose who gets the curse (with the person who chose the winner being immune), and then the curse rules remain the same, three dings and you are out, when you get down to two players, who ever has the most black cards wins. I imagine you could do the same with other games (could you imagine Monopoly with Curses?). The game itself is fun, but as an add on to other games makes it hugely valuable. 5Awesome Fun!I had played this game once before and we had so much fun. I purchased this game in order to have it for my Christmas party. It arrived in super fast time and I only paid for regular shipping since I had given myself time. It arrived and I was super excited. The day of the party came and a few people were nervous about playing because it involves some roleplaying. But, we had an absolute blast! Let me tell you ... an absolute blast! We laughed so hard our sides were hurting and I couldn't breath. This is one of the funnest games I have every played in my entire life (I'm 44). I want to have more parties just to play this game. You can't go wrong with this game at your party. You will have fun ... unless you have a bunch of fuddy duddies at your party. In which case, ply them with alcohol then pull out this game. 5hilariously funny when Adult beverages are involvedMy husband hates playing games, and this is the only game he actually enjoys. Side note, hilariously funny when Adult beverages are involved. 5Fantastic fun family or party gameI love this game because it is great for a family game night, or a drunken party game. It's not dirty at all, but add a shot for every failed curse and let the fall off your still laughter begin. I take it camping too, ( leaving the bell and the box at home and putting the cards in a bag). Easy enough my step son's played pretty independently at five or six. With younger kids we max out thier allowed curses to a Max of three at one time so it's challenging but possible. If they get a fourth the curse giver gets to pick one of the curses to take away. Older kids get five, preteens and up get all the curses they are dealt. There really isn't a game setting where this game doesn't work. A true go to for any collection 5... and thought "oh my gosh this is possibly the best game everI played this in my English class and thought "oh my gosh this is possibly the best game ever! I must introduce it to my family." so I bought it. the package came on time, and the game came in perfect condition. It looks exactly like the picture, down to every last speck of ink. one thing I did notice, is that it takes a good minute for the lid to come off, almost like the lid is BARELY bigger than the actual bottom, but I don't mind, since I didn't have to worry about the box opening and spilling all over the place if I accidentally drop it. My family LOVES the game. it is a must have for every game night at the ockey household. were always laughing so hard we cry when we play it. we like to add on some house rules too, which just adds onto the fun. my favorite house rule so far is if someones handing out a curse to someone, instead of picking one from the pile, they can move one of their curses onto another player. anyways, I highly recommend buying this game. I am sure, without a doubt that you will not regret your purchase.if you thought my review was helpful, please let me know by hitting that thumbs up button! 5Family game for everyone!!We love this game!! It is very similar to Quelf with interactive cards. Our family has family game night every weekend so we are always looking for something new. This is a new favorite! 5For those party people...!Love this game and I have been wanting to buy it for ages, so much fun! And the delivery was superb!! I ordered it from the UK and it arrived by courier within a week. Fantastically packaged. For those who have never played it: you need a small group of people (I have found 4-6 to be optimal) and you have two piles of cards. One named challenges and one named curses. Basically, in turns, each player picks up a challenge and performs it, if the rest approve the performance, that player can pick up a curse card and throw it to someone else, but if it was deemed that the performance of the challenge wasn't good enough, that curse would go to the performer, who will have to permanently carry out that curse (some are as wacky as shake like an earthquake every time the player to your left talks). As the game progresses, everyone ends up with several different curses and performing the challenges becomes more difficult and more fun. BUT! If someone stops carrying out a curse, the other players have to ring the bell in the middle, then that curse card becomes a penalty (doesn't need to be performed anymore), but if you accumulate 3 penalties, you are out. Simple game, lots of fun. 5
