    Very nice!Purchased two of these now. One in December as a Christmas present to a grandson and his sister loved it so much we had to purchase another one for her birthday. Beautiful pieces and very handsome case. 5YMI American Mahjong SetThis is a beautiful, heirloom set and I'm truly glad I purchased it. Only two small drawbacks. I think the metal parts on the outside of the box are not brass but brass plated and they don't seem to be very sturdy (my opinion). Real, solid brass would have looked much nicer. Also, make sure you order the pushers because I bought the set without them and had to go back and order a set. All-in-all, this is beautiful Majongg set that would make a wonderful gift too! 4Beautiful case and tilesThe handle makes it hard to carry - needs more room for your hand. The trays for tiles and racks fit so snugly, they are difficult to remove and repack. The locks are very pretty, but I worry they will come loose in someone's driveway and cause everything to dump out. The wood case is very nicely finished. It is heavy because it is real wood. The tiles are very nice. Others in our group have travel games. The tiles in those are too thin and light weight. They constantly fall off racks, and the racks that come with the travel sets are too short to hold 14 tiles, with no room to separate your tiles into groups. 3Stunning, beautiful, honors the tradition og the game.This set is stunning. Beautiful wood and felted protection. It is something that you will feel honors the tradition. The only thing that is not included is four pushers which I bought seperately but they fit nicely with the set ( clear plastic ). The set is just wonderful and after physicall seeing the sets in aluminum cases of comparable value, I think this set is much more elegant and put together. 5Average qualityTile set came wrapped in plastic and tape that was not possible to remove. We spent the first games picking at the tiles as we played trying to get it off to limited success. Also, some of the tile color bled onto other tiles (on the back side which let you identify the tile!) and had to clean with Goof Off.Also, the tile holders are thinner than two tiles high and it is hard to build the wall and push it out (as it only engages with the bottom row.) The case is nice with a felt bottom so it does not scratch the table when you are using it. 3So BeautifulI just received mine today and was "blown over" with how beautiful it is. Very well made, high quality, can't say enough. It was a birthday present for me and an incredible one. I feel very thankful and the company has done a great job designing it. There are no issues for me with poor printing on the tiles as some indicated. They are perfect. My husband plans to make some pushers for me of wood to use. 5A gorgeous, timeless set at an affordable price.I felt a gnawing envy when the other members of my synagogue's mah jongg club told the stories about their sets' provenance--Bakelite or real ivory, inherited from a mother or grandmother, with finely-detailed workmanship and a respectable patina of age. What was I going to do? My grandmothers never played mah jongg. Even if I could justify shelling out hundreds if not thousands of dollars for an antique set, it would still feel inauthentic.I decided that the next best thing would be to find a new, modern set that still appealed to my sense of tradition and craftsmanship. This mah jongg set absolutely fits the bill! I feel proud to use it when we play and look forward to passing it on to my own children (im yirtzeh ha-Shem, not for many decades to come).The red wood of the case and racks really is beautiful. The tiles feel substantial and well-made, and the engravings are deep enough I don't worry about the paint fading or rubbing off anytime soon. The colors are saturated but not garish. I've always loved owls, so I particularly appreciate that the bird featured on the one-bam is a whimsical, stylized owl. I generally prefer Jewish-American mah jongg, but I recently learned the Chinese style from some exchange students; this set contains all the tiles you would need for either game.Just two minor complaints that prevent me from giving this set five stars: I agree with other reviewers that the latches are too insubstantial for the weight of the case. I've never actually had it break or drop open unexpectedly, but I do carry it very gingerly and have plans to install some more robust hardware myself. Also, the thin plastic wrap used to package the tiles for shipping accidentally fused to the face of a couple of tiles. It's not a big deal--no one but me has ever even noticed, since it's clear and only tiny shreds remain--but I have not been able to scrape it off yet despite my neurotic determination.Don't let these issues stop you from ordering this beautiful mah jongg set, though. I am happier with this than I could've been with other modern sets that sell for twice the price (or, for that matter, antique sets at ten times the price!) 4Beautiful Mahjong setI am thrilled with this beautiful set. I have played Mahjong for years but never owned a set because my friends had them and we just used theirs. But my Mahjong friends have increased and I decided to buy a set. I was a little apprehensive to buy it sight-unseen, but it is beautiful. The case is beautiful redwood and very well constructed. It is completely lined with red felt. The tiles are normal size and fitted into felt-lined boxes that fit snugly inside the case. The set comes with four racks, however, did NOT come with pushers, so I ordered them separately. That did cause a little problem because the pushers did not fit into the case. But I solved that by taking out the felt-lined boxes that held the racks, and then was able to fit the racks and the pushers in that area. So everything now fits into the case, but without the felt boxes for holding the racks. So to clarify, I still use the felt boxes for the tiles, but I just put the racks and pushers into the case without the boxes designed for the racks. One other thing....the set contains twice the number of flower tiles. Not sure why, but I just took them out and will keep them as spares. All in all, this is a beautiful set, and worth the price! I didn't give it 5 stars because it did not come with pushers, which are pretty important. Otherwise, it deserves 5 stars. 4This is the one!I just opened the set. It is beautiful! It has the 152 pieces that I am used to, but also an additional set of seasons (8), and 6 extra tiles for just in case.The artwork is lovely. It is heavier than I anticipated, and hopefully that is indicative of its durability.It was quite reasonably priced as well.I highly recommend this set for anyone who is seeking to purchase one. 5LOVE THIS SETVery classy looking set Solid mahjong tiles and has weight and sounds like they do when my grandparents play them in what feels like eons ago. Love the wooden holders My only gripe is that it is heavy (see product review for weight of product) But all in all a good purchase 5
